We have eels!
Just don't let brother see me like this~ Wan~

Seriously, just listen to that intro song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCuHZwP1DB0
You know you want this.

edit:
Rinne no Lagrange 09:
An okay, but with the exception of some background on Madoka, the rest was completely throw-away.
What, you don't like situational comedy character building?

Phi Brain 22

Well there goes my prediction for what season 2 would have been about, utterly stumped on it now.
Count Pythagoras is dead, the showdown of the two phi brains has got to be imminent Kaito v Rook. Although Gammon is on that side, curious of what his goal is now. The Future stuff is a pretty compelling and interesting plot device and showing that Kaito was seeing Kaito, mindblown.

Sage Puzzles, Fool Puzzles, Gusha Puzzles, God Puzzles, so many puzzles and they all looked and sound so cool and intense.

She doesn't die, her consciousness went to the magical clone-people world her brother created specifically for her.

Actually the real her died a long time ago. She's a clone or something, I can't even remember any more.

Suou has jello hips, your criticisms of DtB S2 are invalid.

can anyone link me to livingthedream.gif?

She's the consciousness of the original in a cloned body with modified memories.

Man, DTB2 sure was bad.

Almost every single element of the plot in DTB 2 was terrible. It seriously made no sense.
Friggin' fake moon-Earth and evil Yin with her evil child or something and the pointlessly cryptic lady who ends up in a bad '50s sci-fi costume why is this happening

I mean the original series has quite a number of problems with its plot but they were more related to it being too vague and unsubstantial than anything else. And DTB 2 can't even be a bad show to enjoy ironically like Arjuna or Glass Fleet because it requires investing in the entire first season beforehand.

I'm done trying to fight against this show. Shaft is simply gonna Shaft so let's just get it over and done with.

Karen looks way better with short hair.

Rinne 6-9

I find myself liking the laidback fun character interaction a lot more than the backstory and drama by a fairly large margin. The bigger problem with the latter is that it keeps getting in the way of the former, sometimes repeatedly within the same episode which causes it to have a problematic sense of pacing. I don't really care who any of these factions are, I just care that they're not engaging in friendship or beating each other up with mechs on a consistent enough basis.

And Muginami still sucks.

G Gundam 13

Rain and Domon are making a strong case for being my favorite anime pairing after this episode.

Infinite Stratos 3

I wouldn't be surprised if everyone at this school just so happened to be Ichika's childhood friend.
Rin's theme was surprisingly pleasant at least.

Gundam 00 S2 3

I believe I'd seen this episode as well although it remained exciting. The preparation phase of the Ptolemy had a suitable tension for what they were preparing to do and the prison breakout was top notch.

Sailor Mercury with her special transform. So nice!

Well, at least now the series can start for real. I'm curious to see how it goes and whether or not they can keep up the self-aware genre savvy stuff. I'm getting way too many Madoka Magica vibes when I watch this show.

Well, at least for me, Mahou Shoujo shows will never be the same after Madoka.

I ain't surprised about DTB 2 troll ending considering DTB 1 gave a troll ending too. Real question is whether will there be a DTB 3.

Thank you sir, you've brightened my evening. No idea why I never thought to save it before.

Well, at least for me, Mahou Shoujo shows will never be the same after Madoka.

I marathoned Heartcatch after finishing Madoka. I can confidently say that I enjoyed Heartcatch much more and was freed from needing every mahou shoujo to be a self-aware deconstruction in order to be enjoyable.

firehawk, you sure you're not seeing too much self-awareness in Smile Precure? I think that it's just employing the hallmarks of the genre so straightforwardly that it feels like parody but isn't meant to be.

Good episode. Funny how the stuff Izo watched on TV lined up almost perfectly.
Still, I'm missing the mecha action.

There's too much genre or trope-based intertextuality for it to be just a coincidence. I mean, Heartcatch and Suite played the genre as straight as possible. They both introduced mythologies early on and had characters that, while tropey, did not literally run down the street with toast in their mouth in their first scene on screen.

I mean, it's almost like Galaxy Quest - a text that is self-aware, but in service of celebrating the source material.
Heck, the fact that Peace changes her rock-paper-scissors thing every time feels like a meta-textual wink to people watching the show.

The best part is that the show probably still works for its actual intended audience - little Japanese girls who don't have a fucking clue what a "parody" is, let alone genre-awareness and all the other stuff.

Unfortunately I have long grown tired ranting about how this director can’t handle anything beyond 3-4episodes.

I would like to elaborate on that but right now I don’t want to spend another second in this thread.

Well, that's a very satisfying answer.

Don't know why polar bear hats aren't considered fashionable these days.
Wat!

The title is based on the Japanese tongue twister Sumomo mo momo, momo mo momo, sumomo mo momo mo momo no uchi, which means Plums are peaches, and peaches are peaches, and plums and peaches are both types of peaches.

Huh, that's like the "shi shi shi" Mandarin tongue twister. I bet every language has a thing where one word repeated 20 times makes a sentence. :p

I thought you were going to ask why was the polar bear jumping through the girl's head, cause that looked like what it was doing as I scrolled by.

This has intrigued me on this series though.

It's amusing. Not amazing or anything just yet. Mostly a standard martial arts romantic comedy. Watching it because it's by the woman who does Magi, one of the recent hits in Mangaf.

Eureka 34

wtf. why are stuff starting to make sense now? I didn't sign up for this!

And called the pregnancy thing eps's ago ;P

I do hope Eureka get's less veiny =(

She really reminds me of Mewtwo for some reason.

Moetwo.
