Another great, unnerving episode. I hate how
they show the last episode's death
at the beginning, hahaha.

Man, that school trip to the mountain was something else, huh?

In other news, everyone I care about is still alive! But judging by Akazawa's tears in the preview, not for long.

I just started this. I'm expecting pop-ups at every corner. I love it.

Episodes like this one show that sports series can be awesome and exciting to watch, despite the fact that most shows only drag the genre down.

The way they switched perspectives between Chihaya, Taichi, and Nichida during the match was perfect, and they really know how to make karuta look exciting.

Also, dat soundtrack striking again.

Ca8as.jpg

And fuck it, guys, Arata's cool. Taichi's cooler, but he's cool too.

It's just so darn catchy. I keep finding myself humming it, and I hope nobody knows what it's from.

It's a really catchy song. I only stop humming it inside my head when I start humming The Everlasting Guilty Crown or Mouretsu Pirates' ED.

And that ends yet another lacklustre arc that could've been done in one episode. Fortunately the next episode looks like it'll flesh out Natsume's past some more so I'm definitely looking forward to that.

Well, I sometimes hum the stuff I find catchy as well, so I can't really blame you...

In other news, Crunchyroll will be streaming the show of spring season, Cthulu-nyan Nyarl-ko.
Wait... they already did two seasons of this show?!

5 minute flash episodes, this will be the first full length anime for it.

I guess that could happen, yeah.
Although Kyubey states during his final talk with Homura that "there'd be no way to prove" her memories of what happened and how the universe was altered by Madoka's actions... So they can't really be angry over something they aren't aware of, unless they really trust Homura's words.
I forgot that bit of dialogue, it's been months since I've watched the series. There's still so much we don't know about the incubators. They obviously possess incredible power, but it doesn't seem like they know how to use it. However, we do know they are willing to do anything to keep the universe going.

Eureka Seven episode 8

This episode made up for the terrible episode 7, and GekkoState are further reinforced
as hardly being good guys.
Holland is still an ass.

Next episode looks to be very important, as presumably
at least some of Eureka's past is revealed.

In the first two seasons, did they ever do an episode featuring just his grandmother?

Cowboy Bebop end

Honestly, I was pretty disappointed with the finale. Outside of Spike and Vicious' final battle, there wasn't much that jumped out at me, and even that was too short. 1 or 2 minutes of good fight choreography doesn't make for the best climax.

Anyway, I have a bit more respect for the series, but not much. I still maintain my view that it's a rather overrated show with only 1 amazing episode (the clown one). I think my aversion to episodic stuff might make me a bit biased. I'd probably be more receptive had at least half of the story revolve around the conflict with Spike, Julia and Vicious. However, since it didn't, I really wouldn't say there was enough buildup for that last little arc and the audience is left to extract a lot of Spike's past on their own. What Faye said at the end kind of highlights this problem;
"Don't tell me this now. You've never talked about yourself before."
or something like that.

I at least have some idea why it's so popular even if I don't agree with it. The atmosphere is definitely there even if (IMO) the content isn't.

Ahhh, ok then. Were they worth checking out?

I'm pretty sure they didn't but the first two series had a far greater focus on what Reiko got up to than the last two.

Crunchyroll will be subbing the flash series too leading up to spring, and at 5 minutes each, they're worth a watch.

Master Keaton 1-2

Keaton seems like a pretty alright guy. Dude has some awesome Macguyver skills. Totally saw the
keystone arch collapse coming, but not the slingshot.
I also love his attitude. Pretty laid back even in relatively dangerous situations. Seeing the other detectives get worked up while he kept his cool was pretty satisfying.

Also, what is Urasawa's obsession with Germany?

Spike's past wasn't the point. It was there to be but a justification for his constant lone-wolfing--which was antagonistic to the whole point of Bebop; Companionship. Samurai Champloo and Bebop explore the exact same theme in that regard, but to different conclusions. I'm on my phone so I can't rant as much as I want on this, but from the mention of champloo you can probably gauge the gist of my stance.

Ano Natsu de Matteru 09:

(brought to you by the Men in Black)

Well, the cat's "officially" out of the bag. The crew seems largely unsurprised by this normally earth-shattering revelation about one of their friends. Kaito is perfectly fine with Ichika being an alien (on account of kinda sorta already knowing it, just not remembering), and promises they won't tell.

Ichika starts to tell Kaito that she is the one who mortally injured him, but he interupts her and says she saved him instead. Ichika worries that more people from some agency will come down to Earth now that the Emergency Pod was destroyed the episode prior.

How on Earth did Kanna not realize that Mio knew she was in love with Kaito? She's like, the most obvious girl in the world.

And YES! at the Galaxy Express 999 parody! XD

So Mio tries to push Kanna into making a move on Kaito but run into Tetsuro as well. And what's this? We're FINALLY getting more info on Kanna? About fucking time! As hnnnnnnngtastic as she is, up to this point her entire character could best be summarized as... well as someone else put it, "Ano Natsu de Cockblock".

Ichika continues to avoid Kaito and the others, and Kaito ends up leaving Tetsuro hanging at his place (not a cool way to treat a bro, Kaito). Funnily enough Mio and Kanna also had the same idea as Tetsuro and ended up at Kaito's place while he's out. They start watching the film that Kaito's taken with the camera and Kanna reacts again seeing more footage of Ichika (that she didn't know about), with the two of them clearly enjoying themselves.

Kaito is found in Karuizawa by Remon, who puts Kaito's problems into perspective and explains he's sulking because he's thinking about himself, and not her feelings. He needs to stop focusing on what she won't let him do for her, and what he can do for her instead.

So a rainy day appears, and Kanna runs into Kaito taking some photos of locals (probably for Ichika). Kanna decides it's high time she confront Ichika before she disappears again, and tells her she's in love with Kaito. She's pushing Ichika to just fucking tell him she loves him. It's heart breaking to watch this, but Kanna's already accepted that she's lost. Not because Ichika loves Kaito, because Kaito loves her. It's basically the same kind of thing Tetsuro was trying to do to help Kanna out (in that he's given up on being with Kanna).

;_; ;_; ;_; ;_; ;_; And because he can totally read her like a book, Tetsuro was there, waiting for Kanna. A kind of touching scene as Tetsuro tries to help Kanna, but again as if they're all book readers, Mio is also nearby fretting that she won't have Tetsuro (Tetsu you bum!).

Ichika finally sees what Kaito's been up to, taking photos of places that resemble what Ichika described.

D'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw!!! And Remon got it on film! Fucking perfect! XD

Why isn't it next week yet????

Whether it's the point or not, it just isn't what I was looking for. That's why I wasn't really expecting to change my view on the show; I want it to be something it isn't. I'm happy for it's popularity because it got a lot of people interested in anime, but it's not the kind of space opera story for me.

I really don't think Lagrange's OP is anything special, why do you like it so much?

I'm synesthetic, and I got a full-body orgasm the first time I heard it.

No I am not joking. That's why it's the best.

Also Megumi Nakajima is hnnngghhhhh and her voice career is great, not to mention the timbre.

I honestly think it's totally true. Why did she get so interested in Ichika so suddenly at her first day? And what's with her script?

They could get away with it, but they could just as well head in that direction, haha.

Old? Yamakan returns.

Polarizing anime director Yutaka Yamamoto will finally reveal his long-awaited anime project during this month's Tokyo International Anime Fair as a part of a planned stage presentation for his current anime production studio Ordet, which is currently handling production on the equally polarizing Black Rock Shooter on TV, currently airing on the noitaminA block.

Yamakan previously teased the project way back in October of last year, following the massive worldwide success of his last project in Fractale, which is currently licensed by Funimation and will be released sometime this year. The project's current placeholder title is "Project Blossom" but further details have yet to be confirmed and are expected at the presentation being held later this month on the 25th. The project is speculated to be a work for charity for survivors of last year's March 11th earthquake and tsunami.

Anyone looking forward to Yamakan's last project, or did you give up on him after Fractale?

The thing is that the first half of the love line is more interesting by virtue of the premise. If Ichika was just a normal transfer student, I wonder if they'd be a little closer for me.
