He is a FA and can be signed right now. Available since 4PM EST. Alright Cardinals, do the damn thing! I believe he has the same agent as Calais Campbell who we have already been talking to for a new contract. How convenient.

How many posts are in this thread?

If Peyton goes to Denver they're gonna have to get him somebody to throw the ball to. I see him taking one look at Thomas, Royal and whatever other practice squad garbage they have lining up and taking the next plane out.

Well, you do have to admit that this is the one way Elway could get out from under Tebow-mania without being scalped by the natives.
Agreed. Tebow doesn't have to leave, most likely wont get much for him. He can learn behind Manning. Perfect fit in my mind, assuming he will have to take a paycut.

Wayne is going wherever Peyton is, and Royal is pretty dang good, when given a QB who throws occasionally.

Bookies have the Dolphins as favourites to land him. Cardinals second and Redskins third. Jets and Chiefs have low-ish odds too.

For what it's worth.

Decker, Thomas, and Royal. Julius Thomas has potential to be a good receiving TE. Not all garbage...

Solid oline as well.

Come to 'Zona PeyPey...as if you don't want to throw to Fitz.

Im sorry not all garbage...just most of it.
Just like the Cardinals receivers after Fitz :(

He's not going to Denver though.

He's going to miss a month this season, Tebow will go 4-0 and then all of a sudden he's the most unpopular guy in Denver. It's not happening.

LOL

Decker's a stud, Thomas is no slouch, Royal's a FA so they'll be looking to add through the draft.

We'll be getting a #2 soon enough. I'm waiting for the beat writers to draw the numbers up for FA. There are too many unknown variables like who is getting cut and the fact that Brown is getting a restructure but we don't know how much exactly. If we get Peyton before FA hits as it's rumored he will choose before then, that will influence things even further.

Here's a question for us few Cards fans that was brought up on a different board: If we land Peyton, do we trade the picks it takes to move up to get Kalil?

All we know is we had the worst LT in the NFL last year and if we don't improve the pass protection in general then Peyton could possibly die while playing for us. If we don't trade up for Kalil then we should see which LT's are available in FA and judge value from there.

Well I'd expect us to look in FA regardless. Not much talent there sadly as teams don't allow stud LT's walk away. Bell from Buffalo is probably the best prospect and good enough to take a chance on. Just has a little injury history. I expect we'll look at OL with our first pick in the draft, the question is whether it'd be worth trading all the way up to get Kalil? No way we do it but thought it's an interesting consideration for fans to deliberate. He's talented enough and that's by FAR our largest weakness to where it makes the argument worth having.

Yeh its our biggest weakness but not our only one. We can't go all out to address the LT problem and neglect our weak LB's, still 2-3 holes away from a team capable of winning in the playoffs.

Of course it's not the only one, I'm not even saying I'd do it. I just think it's worth discussing. We need a SILB to go opposite D.Wash and a stud pass rusher. I think Acho can become pretty good and look forward to his progress. Scho has potential too and should at least become a solid rotation player if not more. We need a backup to start grooming to replace a few positions like A-Dub's eventual replacement and Sendlein too. We also need a #2 WR though it makes more sense to do that in FA if we can. That all said, if we had Kalil providing solid protection for Manning, our defense is beast as is expected, P2 giving us nice field position...would Peyton to Fitz be able to give us a serious run this season? Enough to warrant holding off some of the other needs until next season? We'd still have some picks from this year and some grabs from FA, hopefully a solid #2 WR.

Again, not saying I'd do it or even that it wouldn't be foolish. It's just interesting to think what kind of push we'd be able to make.
