I went back and reread it. Apparently I got it completely wrong the first time.
I thought Madara meant Tsunade with the "Mokuton Clone Jutsu" when he was actually referring to Hashirama's Jutsu that he can use now. My bad.

So I railed on sket dance pretty hard, but with the bossun arc about midway through in the anime (and I read it in the manga now) its not so bad. Actually pretty good.
If anyone wants to give it a try I would say to, but the problem of bad pacing is still there. Spurts of really enjoyable arc and then...mediocre one shotters.

I can't see naruto being the 6th hokage, he's an idiot and too young. Kakashi needs to be the 6th, If you say naruto becoming the 7th sure.
Garra's a kazekage and he's young but only reason he's a kage is because suna is a trash village and they have no Kage level shinobi.

Yes. But that was due to editorial mandate. Considering Shueisha is allowing Togashi to take extended hiatuses I imagine they won't push for an ending right away.

It doesn't actually have a filler ending. The anime's story ends a little before the manga's. I think opinions are pretty split on which ending is better.
Feck, I'll read the manga afterwards then. Is it much longer than the anime?

That'd make Naruto the 7th, or the 8th if someone before him replaces Tsunade (doubtful).
Never officially the 6th, remember the two elders/fie lord referred to Kakashi as the 6th.

I made a comment about this to Big One last week, but what exactly is the basis people have in this thread that Hunter X Hunter is going to end soon (besides choosing to ignore all the loose ends that haven't been to be tied up)? Another year+ long hiatus, sure, keep making guesses on when the next one is going to happen. But why would Togashi end a hit series prematurely unless he was having a serious problem?

For me it's the "serious problem". We don't even know the official confirmation of why he took those year-long hiatuses.

Geez, the continuous weekly "Hashirama/Madara is so hax!" comments are getting old. I mean, really, it's not like it wasn't foreshadowed. We had seen before in glimpses of the past how powerful these men were, so much so that Madara's name alone was able to start a war.
Next chapter will be interesting. Though I wish Kishi would return to the Tobi fight, but I'm worried he won't until Kabuto is dealt with.

I just think people were expecting that their "hax" would be more creative, you know? Kishimoto has a severe problem of having the inability to make up new powers and instead just reuses old ones that are being retconned into everyone. Sharingan? EVERYONE can use a Sharingan! Rasengan? Everyone can use it too! It lessens the importance of both and forces two things onto the reader:
1. Uninteresting and bland explanations to why *insert character* has these powers that make the story worse by being mentioned.
2. Uncreative characters, action scenes, and powers.
So yeah, we're going to be a little pissed, especially since Part 1 of Naruto and even arguably the first half of Part 2 or so, everyone at least got original powers that were somewhat neat.
I will read this over whatever the shonen of the week is any day, but goddamn if it's not just as awful.
Where are the new shoujos that are on par with stuff like Lovely Complex?

I have and continue to read them. One Piece is the only one I would say is worth it though. The other two are simply a case of I have spent this much time reading them I may as well keep going. It's like the Aunt Tits manga, I can't stop reading, but wish I never started.
If more shonen were like Beelzebub the world would be a better place.
We have. I am not a fan of Dengeki Daisy at all. The whole thing makes me feel uncomfortable. It's like reading the time skip part of Usagi Drop over again.
