Anyway I get that one-on-one is cool but I really want some couple-on-one now. Been a long while since we got a good one of those that wasn't off-screen massacre.

It was pretty obvious this was gonna happen seeing the last arc, but it looks like training time. Shouldn't be too far fetched to see them going into a dungeon in this kind of mood.

And I agree, the next few chapters will be Aladdin training with Yamuraiha and Alibaba with Sinbad and a dungeon thrown in somewhere. Can't wait.

It also doesn't fit in the context. He wasn't just saying "old man Zangetsu". He was saying, "He looked like my uncle."
 
That Naruto chapter was pretty dumb. What the hell does the Hokage's power up do? By the name I thought it meant she could regenerate indefinitely, but I'm not sure why that would make her a more competent fighter. And if that were the case, why make it such a big deal when she gets stabbed through the gut?

And I guess calling the events of the chapter (at least up until Itachi and Sasuke hijynx) cliche and predictable is pretty much a given with these shonen mangas, but I felt it applied here a little more than usual.

It's possible they didn't clash since then but got more info on each other. I wouldn't be surprised if Kurapika found out about their origins by now.

Plus there's always the chance he wasn't just sitting there in that scene, but actually waiting for someone/thing.

I just recently read through the entire thing and I don't think they have clashed at all since Chrolo was bound by Kurapica. It'll be really nice to see later them fight eventually especially because we've seen all of the Spiders' abilities now, I think. On the downside, Togashi did write himself a plot hole in regards to the Nen Remover from Greed Island.

edit: Havent read Gantz in awhile but just checked out the latest chapter. God I forgot how good the art is. Going from HxH to Gantz was like a sensory overload.

So they don't kill off the old man? Lame. Idk if it's just me, or is it extremely hard to follow wtf is going on when something 'does something' in recent chapters? And hey, new guys can bankai... which means the captains will have to bankai as well RIGHT RIGHT?

And why the fuck does the new baddies look just like that recent filler bad guy? I think Kubo has reached his creativity limit now.

Even though this was the natural conclusion for Nao's strategy, I was expecting something better from this chapter. Especially after the last two, where Akiyama was trolling around and with the two masked man explaining what would happen if Harimoto's scheme had been exposed (and because this is happening, I suppose Akiyama has something more under his sleeve).

On the last page there's a panel where Akiyama breathes like he's "relieved" that Nao's plan fell apart. So I'm guessing next chapter he'll explain to Nao why it's "better this way".

Not for every manga, but for a big series like Hunter X Hunter they'd give readers a heads up to boost sales. Regardless though the manga isn't ending. It's just people in this thread speculating because Togashi hasn't made it "obvious enough" that a new arc is starting.
 
I read that the bankai thing was mangareader translating horribly as usual.

He actually started saying something about Bankai and then didn't finish. Which is probably just the sealing thing Ivan did to Ichigo. Though I don't know how the hell he actually found that out.

Yamada and The Seven Witches
This guy's drawings really reminded me the transition of Rave -> Fairy Tail, where every characters looked the same.

I like that Yamada and the girl can switch anytime. Let's just hope that the story doesn't rely too much on awkward body switch situation since it gets tiring fast.

The captains ought to bankai regardless, Kubo coudnt close the manga out with those revelations. Ryojin jakka ought to be epic.

Hah. He got the order mixed up though. Falted with number 1 because of his assumptions. Should have played with number 2 first. Good chapter though, and I like it more than the recent battle chapters.

I think I like Magi slice of life chapters better. =/
 
I think them being Quincy's, and essentially being able to completely destroy hollows, may have something to do with them being able to seal Bankais. Hell, they might even destroy them. Ivan had to wait for Ichigo to go Bankai before trying to seal it. Since Bankai is an outward manifestation of a Zanpakto's soul, it's possible they have developed techniques to fully stop/destroy them.

It doesn't work on Ichigo, though. Is that because he's part hollow? If so, will the Vizard-Captains have an advantage in this arc (along with Kenpachi...)? Is it because Ichigo's mom was a Quincy? I find it kind of interesting.

It's more likely because of the whole fullbring thing, not because he's part hollow, although, those are in a way connected

Yeah, you're probably right. As far as story goes, though, I think it'd be more interesting if it were connected to the hollow thing. Only because Kubo has developed hollow ideas/powers way more than Fullbring.

But to save face for the shitty last arc, making this connected to Fullbring would kind of make the motives from last arc better...especially considering Ryuuken was there in the beginning of it observing.

I don't think he's been revived. Back in 329 Cherry was hearing voices, and along with overusing his powers he hasn't been particularly stable recently so it could just be a vision/hallucination.

She was an assistant to Mashima so that's why the style is so similar. For awhile, I thought Yankee-kun was just Mashima's take on High School romcom until I checked who did it.

Anyway, Yamada and The Seven Witches 2 - I wonder if the whole kiss to switch mechanic is like an apology for

Also I'm feeling that Ren is pretty underused. There are a lot of cool scenarios that use a gender changing alien but the manga just keeps on ignoring him/her.

Yamada and The Seven Witches

The art here really does look like the progression from Rave to Fairy Tail for all the same reasons someone mentioned earlier. The story hasn't gotten too derpy yet, but I'm still cautious given how the plot developed in Yankee & Megane. I wanted to love that one from its initial premise as well...

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - The one with the really long name

Had to specify because the one with the super detailed art is apparently the one with the simple title. Anyways, Chapter 9 - Female Knight is fucking broken. It's cool seeing Hero having more screen time as well. Chapter 10's explanation of the re-enforcements should have been expected but I'm surprised I didn't see that coming. Also, Female Knight is totally friend zoned. :lol

Geezer and Hero are the best bros ever btw.

Well, the main new guy/antagonist is cool looking. I'd be lying to say that I'm not interested in seeing where this goes.
