No incentive to trade him until the deadline itself.

They can either try to find a way to add parts and go for it this year. Really though there is no way to do this at all if they are so adamant about keeping their only real trade asset in Ryan Anderson. JJ is the only other guy who even has an iota of value, maybe Jameer to a much, much lesser extent. Everybody else is literally just dead weight.

They can trade Dwight. This is the option most people expect them to go, hell its probably what a lot of people in the Magic FO want to do. But the only voice that matters, the owner himself, doesn't want to trade Dwight. He refuses to do it. None of the deals floating around out there really are that great and unless somebody gets desperate they aren't going to get much better.

So that leaves the last option, the option of doing absolutely nothing.

Only the last choice is really unpalatable.
