Mass Effect 3 SPOILER THREAD: LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE

Um... I don't think that part with shep breathing after destroying synthetic life is Earth. Found the vid on youtube and it's just a lot of rubble. The kind of rubble you'd probably be in after standing that close to a thing that just blew the fuck up.

That's what I think anyway. It was an off screen cam vid though.

I don't know which is worse: the ending, or the fact that I waited over four years for it.

Probably the latter for me, I looked at my CE's and shit and got really depressed. I had spent so much time with the universe only for it to get fucked up in the literal last 5 minutes.

Last time I get heavily invested in a fictional universe again.

I hate Tali's face. Quarians are just humans with three fingers and bird legs? Uh, okay. And to top it off it's just some image they took off google.

Using a generic stock photo as Tali's face is hilariously insulting.

And the fact she looks like a human. fucking bioware

Don't worry about James because you can't romance him.

sigh

Seriously? It seemed my options were either "fuck off" or "fuck me" at one point. Like with every single fucking person you could bring to your cabin. I brought Traynor up there to play chess and ended up with "let's have sex" or "I hate chess". No!

I beat the game last night and that was one of the most unsatisfying endings i have ever gone through. Basically everything dies and all that work I put in throughout the 3 games meant nothing.

that said, this is probably the first game where you meet a gay character right of the bat and it's not downplayed or anything. Have to say I enjoyed that part, just not the eventual "I have to romance this guy / girl OR NOT" thing.

I can't stand the idea that James or Kaiden is going to come on to me at some point. Just talking buddy, no need to get all excited. Should have saved that xenophobic bitch instead.
You don't have to romance anyone actually. I don't think Kaidan hits on you if you had a relationship with anyone else or something.

This particular post on the BSN gives me a tiny glimmer of hope... I'm going to hold on to this until we get some sort of statement from BioWare.

"In the end, after the credits, we're given the Stargazer and the Child on a lone planet. As we know, Stargazer has been telling us the story of The Shepard, the person who overcame the reapers and brought a future to the galaxy...

From the Stargazer's perspective, they would have the recorded history of Shepard's life up to that final push when he/she goes MIA. From that point onward until the Normandy crash-lands is a blank space.

All three endings are fiction."

Imagine for a second, if BioWare was working on (free) DLC called something like 'The Truth'..

One can dream.

uurgh. I can't even talk to male characters in the game without having to think about the eventual 'coming on to me' lines, just like when I talk to any female in ME2.

I'm talking to you, not trying to perv out the damn universe. It's so damn awkward. Talk about a fucking power fantasy.. literally :(

You think that's bad?! Try having Liara's father thinking that my Shepard is her BF. What the fuck?! My Shepard likes men. He has been single throughout ME1 and ME2. I never lead Liara on, never even expressed remote interest in her as a LI. He was just being a good, supportive friend. And yet, this total nobody had the ball to assume that Shepard is her BF? What the fuck? Where did that come from?!

I personally am going to believe my own ending. Shep and Anderson die together, Crucible destroys reapers, Galaxy at peace (that actually lasts because of my choices), Tali mourns Shep. Garrus becomes the new Galactic Badass in Mass Effect 4: Calibrations.

I don't understand why they showed us her face if we failed in taking back her planet.

Take back her homeworld and make peace between her people and the Geth = no face

We fuck everything up and she kills herself = face

I guess the formal would have meant they'd need to model her face and they needed to do more work than just Googling her for that.

When does this get mentioned?

I think I inadvertently crushed several hearts in the game. All the women are loved staved it seems. :P

Kaiden didn't mention the option, and I passed on Cortez.

You can see her face if she survives and you romance her.

I restarted my save and just didn't do the Paragon quick-time event thing. When the father was hinting about Shepard being Liara's BF, I just took it as her being misinformed. :(

It's kinda funny watching this thread go in waves with new groups of people finishing this game every day.

-I was cool with this game up until the ending
-The ending made no sense and here's why
-Here's a better ending
-What happened to dark matter?
-Hey guys so Tali's a stock photo
-DLC extra ending

Plus some new variations (IT WAS ALL A DREAM) each time.

It's... almost like a cycle...

sigh

Wait, the overly muscular guy with the tight clothes and his 'nicknames' for you isn't a romance? Huh. Well, that's kind of.. weird.

Then again, you can't "romance" EDI either. But that would end with a female body part in the sink anyway. Which is really gross.

It goes both ways, indeed. I didn't actually consider that though, but then my shep likes blue tentacle ra- "sex".

When you first interact with that nobody. Exactly! First interaction and he already accused you as "Liara's BF who used to work for Cerberus". WTF? And my reaction is only limited to "I wasn't working with Cerberus" instead of "I wasn't working with Cerberus and I'm NOT her BF!".

Wait, the overly muscular guy with the tight clothes and his 'nicknames' for you isn't a romance? Huh. Well, that's kind of.. weird.

Not available for either male or female Shep. Bioware's revenge, one may assume, because we bitch so much about his design when he was first revealed.

I'm going to go ahead and pretend mass effect 1 was a stand alone product like I do with The Matrix. The mystery and intrigue of the story and the unresolved is just much better than the actually shit that dripped out eventually in the sequels.

They gave her a special sub-helmet face for ME2, I believe. All Quarians have a vague face behind the plastc to give some sort of shape back there. I think hers was a little bit differently modelled from all the other Quarian faces in ME2. The other female Quarians got her face from ME1.

Wait. So now you're offended that he's not interested? :lol

When do you meet her father? I must have missed that.
Presidium commons. Liara's sits in a table by herself, and you can talk to the Asari bartender who reveals her paternity.

Of all the potential DLC they could release for ME3, a "team up with Aria to take back Omega" DLC is the most obvious.

Except with the ending I just don't effing give a damn about taking back Omega. Unless there is a DLC that expands/changes the ending I won't be buying any other DLC.

And I have bought every single ME DLC since the first game, have collector edition game and game guide of every game. But I have no interest in some side mission DLC.

To be fair, that was like the only instance of it. I thought the conversation with Kaidan there was far better than I could have hoped for, and I liked that you could just dance with Cortez like a friend at the club. Still pissed about James, though. "BioWare's revenge" is a good way to put it, because it certainly feels that way. =\

I'm starting to think Bioware planned all this. They created the Reapers (the ending) and we ignored the warnings of others and still finished the game and weren't prepared for the ending (we're the council, ignoring your proof about these so called "reapers").

As one of those people who actually liked ME2 and (most of) ME3, I'm just going to pretend that Shepard dies before he meets the vent kid.

Ugh. I wonder if I should restart that part. I'm not sure if I have the save before that though. It'd be a long trek behind. Don't want her to assume otherwise and for me to close off my other romance options.

Mass Effect: The Friendzone of Forever Alones

I like that Samara turns you down in ME2 if you pursue her.

Friendzone indeed. Pity too, would have been hilarious to see Miranda/Jack/Tali's reactions.

Don't worry about it. I'm sure it doesn't affect anything.

Dammit I assaulted the Cerberus base without knowing that it wouldn't let me do any side quests. So I missed out on a bunch of things.

After beating the game though the ending just doesn't make it worth going back though just to get Thane.

You know, normally, I don't ever give the BSN any credit.

This was good.

Wait...you could meet Liara's father in the game? How did I miss that? I scoured every inch of the Citadel every time I came back to it...which was often...

Wait. So now you're offended that he's not interested? :lol

NO....yes... no... Actually I kind of figured that a guy THAT BIG would be an obvious gay favorite. And I'm wondering what the hell he's doing on my ship, aside from pissing me off.
If I could just airlock someone at random, you shouldn't be surprised if it was Vega, loco.

Snarky exit response included. "so long, loco!"

Just let him float around in a vacuum for a bit. You know, next to reporters asking questions. And annoying Protheans and people who like to make jokes. Nah, I'm kidding, EDI couldn't fly the ship alone, right. OH WAIT, SHE CAN, so who's funny now huh?

I may have anger issues from playing paragon.

Presidium commons. Liara's sits in a table by herself, and you can talk to the Asari bartender who reveals her paternity.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.. I missed that

I wanted to give Aria the finger(s) for a long time, although maybe not in the way you implied.

DLC! :P

Wonder if that would be another battle between Samara / Morinth and Aria at some point. Also, what does hapen to Morinth if you choose her?

Dammit I assaulted the Cerberus base without knowing that it wouldn't let me do any side quests. So I missed out on a bunch of things.

Well, this isn't Final Fantasy XIII/XIII-2 (for better or worse). I always thought it's weird anyway that you can go back to where you were before the final battle. Unless time travel is involved, it feels too weird for me.

NO....yes... no... Actually I kind of figured that a guy THAT BIG would be an obvious gay favorite. And I'm wondering what the hell he's doing on my ship, aside from pissing me off.

Some of us have standards. He's a butterface. All of that muscle won't matter with that face...unless you paperbag it. Even then....ugh.

I like how the game doesn't inform you of when side quests will expire

in fact the journal is a useless piece of shit as a whole in this game

And why could we not investigate with space wizard kid like Vigil?

I'm thinking it's because BioWare simply couldn't think of an explanation.
