Here's something to add. Early in the 2nd season, Darryl and Andrea run into a tent. Outside the tent, is a guy who hung himself. That should have killed him. He probably turned from that, even if his legs were chewed on (post hanging). So, I think that's more foreshadowing the twist.

oh wow! Thats so cool

How long do we have to wait for gifs of psycho-Shane slapping his head or running into a tree?

Kind of made me sad that Rick held Shane's hand and touched his face briefly as he died.

Shane fucking sucked, but Rick loved his buddy. :(

:(

I'm anticipating the Shane & Rick bromance YouTube vids.

:(

Did Carl raise his gun before Shane got up?

What a little shit.
On the set, Carl aimed at Shane when he started getting up. He sat up, moved around, and stumbled for a second before he stood into frame.

:P

It sucks they didn't include Shane stumbling around before he finally gets up in the final shot. I think pretty much everyone assumed that Carl was actually aiming at Rick the first time they saw that final scene. :-/

I'm sure they're already there...

But yeah, Shane was gross, but I feel bad for Rick. Despite the fact that Shane has been a psycho since Rick got back, he still tried to hold onto Shane being his buddy. :(

It just felt like it didn't have to go down that way. That whole showdown could have been avoided.

Stupid Lori

Shane was bat shit crazy for awhile now. It was obvious before the talk with Lori he was never going to let her go. See GAF this what happens when you put pussy on a pedestal .You die in a field.

Shane doing that ended up saving Ricks life.

Shane keeps that secret about Carl (and the gun) to himself, no one saves Rick from walker Shane.

Nah, if Shane hadn't talked to Rick about Carl, then Rick would have left immediately with Randall, and Shane wouldn't have had time to go through with his plan.

And even if that had worked out the same way, then Carl not being there means that Rick would have actually noticed Shane rising, instead of being distracted by his idiot son pointing a gun in his direction.

Gonna love Andrea's reaction when she finds out shane is dead. Would be double glorious if she finds out that he killed the kid to lure rick out and try to murder him, lol. Because she thinks he is sane.

I'd rather just see her get killed in the next episode since it's gonna be chaotic and not have her ruin season 3.

I'm sure she will find out about it. Daryl figuared it out, so I'm sure he will tell the group. Daryl never trusted Shane anyway. He figuared out about Otis and questioned how 125 poun Randell could get the drop on him.

In the end, I actually really felt sorry for Randall. We never got to find out what kind of character he was...

His entire point of existence was to be Solid Snake'd by Shane so that Rick could be isolated from the group in a premeditated attempt by Shane to reclaim his position as the alpha of the group.

Poor kid. :(

I cling to hope that they'll eventually get around to making her like in the comic.
I just don't like the actor. I think she's ugly and annoying. Same thing with Lori.

I haven't read the comics:
I'd rather have someone more attractive do whatever badassery she might do since she's good with a gun, but also be Rick's love interest after Lori hopefully dies.

If getting rid of her is not going to happen, then yes, by all means, I'd like her to be improved in whatever way some of you think would do it.

THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT?!!!!
MY FAVORITE CHARACTER, THE ONLY ONE WITH BALLS IN THE GROUP (APART FROM DARYL) IS DEAD.

GREAT JOB RICK,
NOW YOU CAN DEFEND YOUR FARM MINUS 1 TOTAL ZOMBIE KILLING BADASS -- AND ALSO BANG UP JOB GETTING YOUR SON HIS FIRST ZOMBIE KILL.

Ok, now that I have that out of my system. Can't wait for the last episode of the season.
epic zombie house seige scene go go go go

Oh, I didn't even think about the cop zombies from the last few episodes. Thanks for the explanation guys. With Randall, I just assumed a zombie got to him in the woods later on after he was killed by Shane.
Right. They've hinted at the cause for a while. Although, the numerous dead bodies on the freeway suggests the explanation is a bit more complex; assuming that was not a simple oversight, of course.

How long after the airing of an episode before you can start using gifs from it in other threads?

This one seems like it could find a lot of use.

I don't think there's any rules and it's not really spoilery.

And I'm a big advocate of not spoiling any TV series because they are large time investments and people have backlogs for years.

why did the zombies, at the end there, all decide to get up at the same time? i mean, wtf? that one gun shot woke up the dead?

they better get the hell out of the farm next week! or else!

His little nervous chatter at the end to Shane didn't sound like he had much regrets about hanging out with crazy rapists.

Except he got bit first and wrote that crude poem before killing (attempting to anyways) himself.

World gone to shit
Got bit
Fever hit
Might as well quit.

I read the comics so I already agree that everyone's got it, just not in this specific case that killing himself would be a clear indication

Another good point!

Damn, so yeah, his bull shit about not wanting to go back to his group and not knowing where they were was crap. Maybe Shane was even waiting to hear what he had to say before breaking his neck? I think Shane was 99% sure of the kid's true intentions, but getting him to spill his guts like that only made killing Randall even less remorseful for Shane.

I like that. Even more layers to the "shane situation"

was it just me, or did shane sound like he was huffing and puffing during the stand off? sounded really strange, like he was turning into a zombie or something there. just something i noticed, probably just him being crazy and shit at the end there.

Shane's always huffing and puffing when he goes nuts.

For all of you asking "how Shane and Randall got infected??" Remember this from S1 last episode?

At the CDC before it explodes

Rick Grimmes: I'm grateful
Edwin Jenner: The day will come when you wont be **whispers something to Rick's ear

Make your own conclusions...

Through the whole episode they had some of the "zombie breathing" going on with shane. It's subtle, but I was noticing it the whole episode. The zombies have these riverbed out reversed breaths layered into their sounds and whenever shane was bugging out this episode they sprinkled that in.

YEah, but rick is apparently stupid and just forgot it.

This is a spoiler from season 1. I dont know if I have to spoil tag it or not, but I will

Remebar when Jenner told Rick a secret? People are speculating that Shane being bitten by a walker was the secret.

No, the supposed secret is that
anyone who dies becomes a zombie, not just people bitten, everyone is essentially 'infected', they're the walking dead.

alright, at least i'm not the only one who caught on to this. so it was more just foreshadowing him turning into a zombie than anything else.

Yeah, but rick is apparently stupid and just forgot it.

No...in looking back, Rick has always been deliberate (after talking to the CDC guy) about headshotting people when they die, zombie or not.

See: The guys in the bar, the zombies, etc.

My theory is he was planning to headshot Shane too when Carl walked up.

No Shane only motivation was to get Lori, Randell was a means to get Rick alone. I really think that was just neverous chatter from Randell . Put yourself in his shoes he thinks they are going to kill him, then the man who wants you dead more then anyone comes and gets you in the middle of the night. As he is dragging you in the woods, he tells you he wants to join your group, of course you are going to reassure him your group is great, so he dosent kill you.

I thought the season would culminate differently. I really thought the other group, and the danger other living, more scrupulous people pose in this new world would become a much larger focus. Maybe that'll be the narrative in the third season? In any case, I've really enjoyed this season, and the slower pace hasn't bothered me at all.

Hey man.

How come you never post in NBA-GAF anymore?

:(

Interest really ebbs and flows, especially when your team is as shit as mine is :[

After the episode was over, I thought when Shane was slapping himself and whatnot in the barn, that perhaps he was having those same visions we were shown as he turned after Rick killed him. But then, I also thought he got mixed blood in his system during that episode with the bus.

Except he wondered out loud about it just a few episodes ago
"Why did these cops turn? They aren't bit?"

So good.

Carl shooting Shane, confirming everyone is already infected, and they are finally leaving the fucking farm. Glad something is actually happening now.
