According to CBS, Pau for Scola/Lowry a done deal?

sure you didn't read that wrong. I read CBS saying Lowry will not be included in any Pau deal.

And Lowry could be out a month. At this point, would be dumb to make a trade for him.

It will really suck if the Lakers trade Pau, just to cut salary.

I like Pau and he's a good person on and off the court.

FUCK JIM BUSS

They're not trading Pau to shed salary.

I still say Pau is going nowhere. And best odds are on a player like Sessions coming over.

edit: If Lakers trade Pau for Lowry and he's out a month with a staph infection, then the playoffs won't even happen. Worthless trade.

Why does Viakado hate Pau so much. At this point, I'd trade him in a deal for Deron, but no one else really.

I love how Kobe rides top tier big men to titles and then bails on them and teamplay as soon as things get a little tough. If the Lakers trade Pau, it'll be Bynum's turn to be the scapegoat for Kome.

Lakeshow are two games behind 2nd place in the West.

Haven't you heard? The mamba rides the bird? so the mamba must be the word.

It was funny in my head :(

Rockets won't part with lowry.

It would more likely be dragic/scola.

Even that is a frigging steal. Isn't Pau's contact completely terrible? It just seems so obvious to me that Lowry/Martin/Pau trio will get as far as the second round at best. There's no building for the future at all.

If I'm houston i trade scola and martin for 1st picks or younger players. I just don't think you go deep in the playoffs with those guys.

dragic/scola for pau ... depends on what else is required to make the trade work. But if that was it... the rockets probably come out ahead on it.

But you're right, a core of pau/lowry/Martin is terrible. But hte idea for them is to add Pau, to attract other players to the rockets. Lord knows how that works. But OK!

And Pau's contract IS bad, but it's not Kobe bad.

lol, how is Pau for Dragic (expiring) and Scola (3 years $30 million, possibly 4 year $40) a steal?

Why the sudden shitting on Pau? he's still one of the 5 best bigs in the league.

Lakers are 3rd in the West with the worst 4-12 among all playoff teams. Pau is still great.

Pau has just 2 years, $38 million left after this season. That's not bad...

pau trade scenarios.
that's the spirit.
lowry or bust.

Pau's contract in that second year is what scares the shit outta the Lakers FO.

They will get killed in the secondary tax.

assuming they amnesty MWP and give Bynum roughly $15 mil, They'd probably be $7 mil under the LT with Kobe, Pau, Bynum, Blake (assuming no other changes). They'd also be $12 million under the graduated tax. I say they'd be fine.

Plus after that season, Kobe and Pau come off and Kobe will re-sign for a lot less, I'd imagine.

By the time they would have to amnesty MWP, he will have one year left on his deal.

Wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to amnesty at that point.

It's the reason they haven't bothered to amnesty Luke.

Blackace

if you see me in a fight with a bear, don't help me fool, help the bear!
Scola in a Lakers uni would be comedy to me for some reason

They didn't amnesty Luke cuz they're going to amnesty MWP. They haven't amnestied him, yet, because the luxury tax hit isn't so bad right now and they needed him this season (or they believed so).

He might be gone this summer.

That is probably what will happen.

hahahahaha. Like Kobe is going to stop playing in 2 years while he has the scoring ranks to climb.

I guess it depends on how well his body holds up, but he's down to 43% shooting this year.

In three years, he could easily be a 40% 15ppg player. I think he'd rather retire than play at such a reduced level.
