Not sure yet! I just started day 17 and have school today so won't play much, but I was contemplating just farming everywhere until day 20 again so I can win another contest and level up more for the reef, since I think I'd die too quickly if I tried to go through it all now.

Also, do you know the recipes for the G. meats? Is there a barbecue or some other grilling tool I've yet to find?

G =
Ground
.
I thought it was garlic at first.
You should already have a tool that helps from Fred's shop.
Let us know if you can't work it out.

I've yet to even come in better than 5th place in a cooking contest (day 26 right now). I'll try Creme Pasta next time and see how that goes.

Go for Creme Tung. It's the same recipe as the other Creme's. It will score you 635 points in the competition.

By browsing through the recipe book (you can find it hidden in the tower) I was able to figure out 12-15 recipes just by looking at the other variants and then figuring out what Meat I needed to add. It can be a bit tedious, but it's also fun.

All you folks playing Power of Coin should try out Dungeons and Coin.

No limit on number of coins in action, much deeper "combat" - sure the frame rate suffers at times, but clearly we're not playing these games for those specs.

Oh man it's ground? There was grilled ham later so I just assumed it was grilled but wasn't working with the pan haha.

And I think I used porchetta or carbonara for the first contest and got first place. Not sure what I'll use for the second but I have some dishes that sell for 1200 or so, so probably one of those. I unlocked silver league too, so not sure how great of a recipe I'll need to make.

Now you have that you can work out the other "G." recipes.
I've started looking up Japanese cookery websites for the less obvious (to me) stuff.

The developer on Touch Arcade said that it was an achievement only. He emphasised how rare the achievement is, but it's up to you how much that means to you.

Also, for anyone in this thread who has an iPad but has not purchased Incoboto need to immediately. Think Limbo, Ico and Braid, it is superb.

Awesome, thanks. I'm not going to bother finding the last one if it just an achievement. I thought the ending to Incoboto was still kind of sad:

Yeah Inco saved all of the suns but he is still alone and everyone else is still dead. He is just watching the skies, like he was in the beginning, and waiting for signs of life except now he can do it in the sunlight.

Damn it I want Incoboto but it's iPad only.

Also, man I played some more Glowfish last night... SUCH an underappreciated game, what an absolute delight to play. I've been coming back to it every now and then for a long long time now but I still haven't finished it because there are so many levels.

Look, check out Glowfish and if the description/screenshots even remotely appeal to you, get it, you will not regret it. This is one of the most well executed and gorgeous games on the App Store. It's fun, atmospheric, it's got character and did I mention it's really damn gorgeous?

I mean... In terms of visuals, this is one of the very few games (perhaps only Infinity Field's Insane mode is up there as well) that makes me feel like I'm playing on a high-end pc because I almost can't grasp how they technically did it. Sure, it's all 2D but they throw so much absolutely beautiful retina-resolution smoothly animated stuff at you in this wonderfully layered style while keeping a top-notch 60fps-ish framerate that never seems to drop one bit (on an iPhone 4, not 4S! probably on 3GS as well). It's just sheer technical excellence. I've gotten used to the Infinity Blade 2 graphics but Glowfish still wows me, so that says something.

Also had the time to play some more Infinity Field 'Insane Mode' and some Infinity Blade 2, such fucking awesome games. iOS gaming, fuck yeah.

My secret wish is that Firaxis is working on an Xcom iOS version as well. It astounds me that something like Xcom hasn't been made/ported yet.

Yes! I was just thinking this yesterday as well. Hopefully they make and put effort into a spin-off from the new console one.

Yeah, it'll be a third person shooter from the hit team that bought you Dead Space and Mass Effect iOS! :P

I played a bunch of Kids vs Goblins at lunchtime, that game is actually really fun. Every time I play I learn new tricks and wrinkles to the formula and I feel I'm getting halfway competent at the game. But when it gets hard damn is it hard. Right now I'm finding I need to strike a balance between healing and support. Haste is super useful and combining it with the slowdown effect that the blue class can give is pretty brutal. It's cool, and a lot deeper than it appears at first glance. I've maybe spent about 3 hours on it so far and I still feel like a novice.

Is DRAW SOMETHING sometimes screwing up with you guys as well?
I got a couple of crashes in the middle of guessing which somehow didn't let me retry on reboot, a couple of PASSes when in fact I didn't, the "keyboard" locked up so I couldn't guess and, the weirdest of them all, I got someone guessing their own (!) drawing and failing (was playing with a gaffer, the drawing was that of a shield which I had already guessed it right yesterday, you know who you are) wut

Update sorely needed or it's just me?
Nontheless, the game is a blast and hilarious even tho I suck hard at guessing :)

The best drawing I got to do yet was that of STARWARS, where the gaffer catched on my drawing as soon as I put an horrible X-Wing out there, lol

Lol your boxer pic was pretty great. It was a shitty uppercut pic though lmao. Took me a while to guess it.

Ahah, ditto that! :)

I just finished Sword & Sworcery for the first time. What the fuck at the ending.

Amazing stuff, really. Unlike anything I've played before.

Only got 95% clearance though. I cheated to change the time, but I because I thought I was supposed to. But I've read that only akes off 1%...?

Oh wow, I thought it was just some weird coincidence that happened on my device but the big performance boost I'm noticing on Infinity Blade 2 since iOS 5.1 seems to be widely reported on. I had more fun with IB2 last night than ever before because it was so responsive and smooth, it wasn't perfect but it performed very similarly, if not often slightly better than IB1 did in the past. Good stuff.

Did you
spare the bear-thing and watched the concert?

I never fought the bear thing. For some reason I didn't cross the water the first time I entered the dream world. Hence the cheating. I never unlocked the Moon Shrine. That must be it.

And the concert is fucking awesome.

It's pretty broken imo. The worst thing is that it selects the topic that you didn't pick.

I do wish gaffers will stop drawing game references for everything. Sure I can recognize the rockstar logo... but come on ;P

Ok, I am on the Draw Something train! Let's play!

Name? (Dash Kappei GAF's mine)

Glad that it's not my iPad screwing with multitasking/memory/etc then chickdigger, I guess they'll update the game pretty fast considering how well it is doing on the appstore. Also, I haven't even got the chance to put any vg references out there yet, damn! :P

Thanks for the heads-up on the free game, Power of Coin. I've been playing it for the past three days. Pretty addicting. It was annoying, early on, having to wait for my coins to replenish, but as I unlocked prize sets I was able to go longer without running out of coins, until I reached a point where I'm now constantly gaining coins.

The best prize set is the sword set. Unfortunately(in my game, anyway), the purple sword is the rarest prize in the game. I was able to complete every other level 3 set, before I even completed my level 2 sword set. Fortunately, the level 1 sword set is the best one, letting you collect prizes even when they fall off the sides.

Also, in case anyone else was wondering what the jackpot does, I was actually able to achieve it, once. When you finally collect 3 orbs, nothing will happen, yet. Just keep playing until you reach Zeus, again. This time, Zeus will take an extra long time to defeat, compared to other times. I'm guessing this is like the game's final boss, even though it still loops infinitely after you defeat him. Anyway, after you defeat Zeus, while having 3 jackpot orbs, the jackpot fever will trigger, and 2000 coins will rain down for a period of time, granting you many coins and prizes. I was around level 200 when I finally got the jackpot, but I know I missed at least one orb, earlier in the game.

At this point, I see no reason to keep playing, since it's almost impossible for me to run out of coins, now, and there is no goal of prizes to keep striving for. I didn't spend a single cent on IAP, but if one were impatient and wanted to know what the best purchase is, it would definitely be the first level of the sword set. That 99 cent purchase will save you a lot time, waiting for coins to replenish.

As for strategy, try to keep the coins piled high so that you're more likely to get bunches of 4 or more coins to fall at a time. That's what triggers prizes and special coins to come floating across the screen.

I'm so glad you actually played through this to tell me it just loops, makes it that much easier to delete.

But man I could easily spend money on a game that has a more finite end, this game was addicting. I'd turn the app back on and shit my pants when I found I had just 20 coins, since that was potential progress. Every hour... check for coins... check for coins...

Check out their other game - Nine Dungeon(P) - similarly as addicting.

Darius Burst is the shit!

Definitely. It's up there with the Cave games for me.

I never fought the bear thing. For some reason I didn't cross the water the first time I entered the dream world. Hence the cheating. I never unlocked the Moon Shrine. That must be it.

And the concert is fucking awesome.

Concert is probably my favorite scene and I love the song that plays during it.

Don't think so no. iCloud and iTunes backups are the same content wise.

Sorry to post about this again but the more I read about this the more confused I get. I maintain two Apple IDs (one for US content and one for JP content) but as far as I know I only have iCloud configured on the US account. What is the exact procedure I should follow for completely disassociating myself from my current iPad, and restoring all my app data from both accounts to a new iPad?

Why is the Draw Something over in the OT folder? I'll post this here since a lot may not even see that thread...

Ok guys, send me all the invites you want. My username is: RockySC

I try not to ever type words of any sort, but sometimes I do break down and do so. I also will use arrows to point at things. Oh, and I also suck at drawing, but I'm working to improve that, lol.

I hate when people write out the answer. What is the point? Is it just to get coins or what? I don't even see the purpose in playing if you are just going to write the answer out. Heck, I've seen some people ONLY write the answer out, no drawing or anything. Idiots.

I loathe games with virtual d-pads and pretty much always skip them. Is Adventure Bar Story worth my time if I like the idea for the game otherwise? It seems a bit like Recettear or Rune Factory in concept.

Sorry my 3G kinda sucks today. jessecuster3 is my name.

I'd say so. Somewhat addictive and pretty cheap.

Does Recettear have deadlines? I think that's what I hate most about the Atelier games and am glad that ABS doesn't have.

Kinda off topic but FreeMyApps finally added iPhoto as a gift app, had been waiting on that one, incase anyone else is looking for it.

Isn't the 3DS Ghost Recon game (by the Xcom creator or something) getting an iOS port?

Huh, didn't Apple try to ban this type of stuff a few months back?

I don't know if it was mentioned but Ravenmark received an update with 11 new missions. One of the best strategy games on iOS if you haven't played it yet and it is loaded with content.

Last Class Heroes is back on the App Store and free, apparently. I thought it was pulled long ago while it was being totally revamped. Either way, I'm happy to get a shot at it now!

Thanks for the support, Pastry! :D I was literally just gonna post about it here - am still feeling all frazzled from the madness that was GDC. Ask a random developer who went and they'll tell ya they have nerd flu.

Check out the trailer for the new RAVENMARK campaign here:

I hate to be all Alextended up in this bitch, but that game is pretty ugly. I think on this kind of hardware stylised looks for better than going for console-quality. Both because of the hardware limitations and because of the skill needed to make decent photoreal fantasy art. When Skyrim has a hard time of it, I think it's hard for lesser devs to make it look good. Because that game doesn't look good, even though the constituent parts look decent.

Really? I think it looks pretty good. Though I have to see it in motion to be sure.

But I wouldn't mind a Skyrim like RPG with stylised graphics.

You just want a free copy, let's be real.

I'm not a fan of the generic fantasy sandbox kinda game (really didn't like Ravensword and Aralon) but I gotta say this game looks good, bro. I don't see what you're talking about. It doesn't fully look current-gen console-like but it looks better than a PS2 games of that type that were considered good-looking at the time. So it looks maybe a tiny bit dated by non-mobile standards... But still well done artistically and technically for this type of game.
