Got-damn....

Mike Williams, John McCargo, Marshawn Lynch (I like him but he was a failure), Leodis McKelvin, Aaron Maybin. Can't win when you're missing in the 1st.

Lynch has pretty much proven he works in a different system, though. But I like to think the Bills are still paying for the Flutie screwjob.

Curse of Flutie, wonder if he's ever been back.

Lynch is about as productive with the Seahawks as he was with the Bills from a yards standpoint, just getting in the endzone more. He was just over drafted, everyone knew it too but they had no depth at the position and were desperate.

Why, are they trying to trick him by having a good QB throw to him now?

Alex is essentially Harbaugh 2.0. Career stats are similar in many areas, hell in 95 Harbaugh had 17 TDs/5 INTs and lost 20-16 in the AFC title game while Alex last year had 17 TDs/5 INTs and lost in the NFC title game 20-17.

Looking more and more like Terrell Thomas and Aaron Ross will test the FA waters. Talks broke down between the Giants and T2 and they've shown zero interest in bringing Ross back. It's unfortunate as I was hoping T2 would be the one guy we resigned but Reese is going straight hardball on not overpaying a guy coming off of a second ACL...

You're up Prince!

Who doesn't need first round picks? Certainly not the Buffalo Bills.

Do you consider McKelvin a failure or just a disappointment?

I don't think he'll ever develop the ballskills to play CB. He can mirror and keep up with receivers, but once the ball is in the air he loses track of it and doesn't get his body in the proper position.

You never know though, light may turn on. I remember Greer getting lit up in similar fashion early in his career, terrible on anything deep even though he could run, turned it around though. One was undrafted the other went in the first (11th, I think).

Justin Rogers is a guy that flashed last season, I like him. Also like Searcy, I really really like Searcy. Wish he was faster, would be dynamite in Rex Ryan's scheme, I'm talking sure fire Pro Bowler. I'm really high on Searcy but I may be crazy.

I have absolutely zero problem with PEDs in sport. Adopt a registration system, monitor it closely, and legalize it across the board. The media and the average sports fans indignation with athletes who get caught using is hypocritical and asinine.

I guess one of the reasons is that it's hard to keep it contained within professional sports. Athletes will always be role models, and it's not like using PEDs is completely harmless. So I guess it's more based on the societal role of sports.

Another big reason is that PEDs are still a relatively recent phenomenon. I'd guess there's a transition period of several decades where people still remember "pure" sports without these drugs, and where not every athlete is on it. So there's definietely a fairness aspect to it, too.

relatively recent as in like 90% of the super bowl era?

I like that. It's a bit more civilized than my let them put w/e they want into their bodies and enjoy the carnage.

PEDs have gotten a lot better since the 60s and 70s. Go look at pictures of Arnold, Franco, or Frank Zane. Compare them to say Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, or Dorian Yates. Drugs has a LOT to do with it.

This would have been a lot funnier if you were a Packers fan saying it.

I don't want PEDs in most sports but they have been in football for so damn long and no one seems to give a shit so I won't either (unless a team I don't like is doing it then I am going to go all Skip Bayless on their ass!).

That's why I said "several decades". The guys making the rules grew up without them. And I'm pretty sure that a person's view of what a sport should be like is mainly determined by what it was like when they first started watching.

Although negotiations have been cordial, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Pierre Garcon has not been able to come to an agreement with the team and plans to test the free-agent market, a source said.

Garcon, who has deep speed, has been in talks with the Colts all weekend and again on Monday morning. Though he plans to stay in touch with the Colts, the source said, Garcon felt the offers weren't good enough to keep him off the free-agent market.

The Colts have until 4 p.m. ET Tuesday to reach a deal with their unsigned free agents before they are free to sign with other teams.

Garcon had a career year in 2011 even though quarterback Peyton Manning missed the entire season after neck surgery.

The 25-year-old receiver had 70 receptions for 947 yards and six touchdowns, catching passes from a carousel of quarterbacks.

The "fairness" of it is the only real issue I think is a problem now, and standardization eliminates it. Institute a trainer sanctioned fitness program that includes it across the governing body. Fairness, as well as cleanliness is guaranteed, and it also keeps your athletes away from undesirable company.

Interesting update:

Ralph Vacchiano

Interesting. The NFL is apparently taking away millions of dolllars of salary-cap space from the Cowboys and the Redskins because of how they front-loaded deals during uncapped year (2010), according to @AdamSchefter. The details were explained earlier by @ProFootballTalk (Read more ›). The Redskins reportedly were $31.3 million under the $120.6 million cap, and the Cowboys were reportedly $4.7 million under. Stay tuned for more. #NFL

Report: Peyton to visit the Titans

Despite a report that the hottest free agent since Reggie White, or ever, was done making trips, Peyton Manning will be conducting Rocky Top one more time when he heads Nashville to visit the Titans, according to Michael Lombardi of NFL Network.

On Sunday, Titans owner Bud Adams made it known publicly that he wants Manning, even though the front office and/or coaching staff in Tennessee may not.

Manning has visited the Broncos and Cardinals. It’s unknown whether he’ll visit the Dolphins.

Some believe Peyton wants to play for the Texans, who have so far shown no interest in chasing the man who had a large role in Houston’s expansion team needing a full decade to expand their season beyond Week 17. If that’s true, flirting with the Titans could be the only thing that ever wakes up the Texans. If the alternative to having him on the team is to continue to compete with him directly, having him on the team may not be so bad.

Manning visiting the Titans. I've now reached don't give a fuck status. I only like being jerked around by my GF, and even I can do it better then her.

On that front, he'll also be meeting with Dolphins HC Philbin:

Chris Mortensen ‏

Peyton Manning will meet w Dolphins coach Joe Philbin & Titans coach Mike Munchak during next 3 days, scheduled away from team facilities.

Did you watch the games last year LOL
Sorry, I was too busy watching Eli hold up that Lombardi to give a BaltimoreLarry sized shit about two meaningless losses to a franchise the Giants have owned the last 10 years.

This seems reminiscent of Jets fans during Nnamdi watch (or Niners fans during Harbaugh watch). The key difference being the Niners got Harbaugh and the Jets didn't get Nnamdi. It'd be kind of funny if it ended up like Nnamdi, going to a team noone suspected, although I find it hard to believe he'd go to a team we hadn't even heard about given we seem to hear wherever he's visiting when he's visiting.

Damn you are desperate. I feel sorry for the cards. If they don't get manning their season is already in the shitter!

How so? You and I already had discussions for next season around playoff time and I was confident in the direction Cards were going. Not like I did a 180 when the Peyton sweepstakes started. Without him I think we're competitive for the division depending on how we do in FA and draft, I could see us taking it. With Peyton, we easily win division and become SB contenders, although not a favorite just yet.

Easily win the division? Yea ok. We beat you when you had Warner (and had a shitty coaching staff), don't act like adding a hof QB suddenly means you go 6-0 in the NFC West.

Wow...

Cowboys lose $10 million in cap space, Redskins lose $36 million in space. Can split it over 2012 and 2013 any way they want. More at ESPN.

That's a big chunk for the Skins. Good luck throwing big money Vincent Jackson's way.

Wow...

Good luck with Vincent Jackson Skins!

Jonathan Kraft warned of this. Said the Patriots were treating 2011 as if there was a salary cap. He always believed the NFL would "punish" (for lack of a better word) those who spent like crazy. Now, it seems the NFL is

Best franchise in the league.

Haha, the powers that be actually went back and deleted every remnant of that instantly-infamous post.

I was confused for a second but I see it now. I was convinced we were on page 110 :jnc

Another wrinkle to the cap space hit for the Cowboys and Skins:

Adam Schefter

All that money goes to 28 other teams -- $1.6 million each -- except for Saints and Raiders, who don't get any but don't lose any.
Thanks guys!

Serious question regarding RG3, where would he rank in the past 10 years of QBs' based on college alone? Honestly RG3 seems top 5 easily, maybe top 3 to me.

Well, Cam Newton and Tebow are easily above RG3 considering college alone. Probably Troy Smith too, considering he lead his team to an undefeated regular season. You could argue Colt Mccoy based on his win-loss records in college. Vince Young was a better college QB for sure, and maybe Leinart too. Jason White was a really good college QB out of Oklahoma, but his glass knees guaranteed no NFL career.

Those are just off the top of my head. You could argue Griffin, sure. But I wouldn't put him in my top 5 based on college alone

yeah because you went 14-2, oh wait you barely squeaked in the playoffs.
