NFL Off-Season Thread: "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?"

Don't think this matters at all. But on Cam he had character issues, taking money and stealing a xbox or some dumb shit. On top of that RG3 had better passing stats, you could argue it was due to offensive scheme. You have to look at their skillset, who is more accurate, better release, decision making, footwork and all that jazz. Are you saying Cam is better is these respects?

Ugh, again, I took your comments as "Who was the best college QB". And you even said we were not looking at NFL careers. This is the first time you mentioned skill set. sure, RG3 has better footwork and throwing mechanics. But as we have all seen and know, that means very little in college if you are just better than everyone, like Cam and his undefeated season proved. And of course RG3 had better pass stats, look at the offense he got to play with? Cam did it with nearly no help on offense and a much much much much tougher conference

I don't get how you can't understand this. I think RG3 has incredible upside and could make a great pro (as I hope he does), but we are focusing just on the sample of play from college, and until this post, it had nothing to do with skillset.

Wow, there goes any chance of them keeping Fletcher and Landry and getting a top flight receiver. Might as well just focus on getting Fletcher and the receiver. Let Landry walk.

Edit: Aaaaaand they just cut OJ Atogwe to free up $3.4 mil cap space. Wow, our defense is going to get gutted. RGIII is going to be in a lot of shootouts his rookie season! :jnc

They pulled a DCX. Expect a Dan Snyder apology on YouTube soon.

People actually want their team to sign Garcon? Dude has stone hands and doesn't have the size for the free agency prize money he's lobbying for. This is a deep WR FA field Garcon is bottoms of the list.

...and won it all.

14-2, 9-7. Seriously, I couldn't give a flying shit about wins and losses in the regular season. In fact, I care about as much as you would if the roles were reversed and the Redskins had "squeaked into the playoffs" and won it all. Right?

Wrong I would care, anytime a division rival gains a potential franchise QB I would be worried especially when you are barely making it this ain't the AFC/NFC West. You could easily not make the playoffs next year, that is how competitive it will be.

tbh it was well deserved.
Yeah it was but it should be no more than a week ban.

We have to have some standards here (though obviously very low ones seeing how many Pats fans and posts about them we get), but Larry did have the decency to accurately describe and link his picture instead of just flat out posting it. If he had posted that he should have been perma'ed.

I also can't believe anyone actually clicked on it. He gave all of us ample warning!

To be fair, half of the posts mentioning the Pats are yours.

Wrong subject. Wrong thread. Wrong forum. Wrong website.

Now he can find the right website.

seems to me like you'd probably get permabanned for linking goatse or the like, even if you warn people and this isn't too far off.

I'm wasn't completely serious, but he somewhat intrigues me. I haven't watched a lot of his games, but when I saw him he wasn't all that bad. Just saw he turned down a 5 year/35 million dollar deal, I thought he would be cheaper than that.

I don't think they ever intended on resigning Landry anyway. He is too injury-prone and not really worth a new big contract.

Landry played 8 games last year, Atogwe 13, and doesn't include partial time missed. Landry needs to go, Atogwe I would have liked to keep just for depth. Need to resign Fletcher imo only (on defense). Even with the cap hit if they go 50/50, should still be 25-30mil under the cap

Probably just not explaining myself correctly, I mean if you were to draft a QB and every QB from the past 10 years was in the same draft class where would RG3 rank? Just like how a scout will look at it and consider everything including throwing motion(Tebow),character issues, height, and all that hoop la.

What's the logic behind giving the cap space from the Redskins/Cowboys to other teams? I could understand taking it from them, but why distribute it?

What any of that has to do with the Giants winning the Super Bowl in the 2011 season, I don't know. I'm still struggling to care but I'll try this again. What I asked you specifically:

If the Redskins had won the Super Bowl in 2011, would you have given a shit if they had gone 14-2 or 9-7? The answer is no. If you say you would have, then a big fucking :jnc to that.

As to the Skins, I've already said earlier in the thread that the Redskins would field a better team in 2012 and no, that doesn't worry me. I *LIKE* when the Giants have a tough schedule. No excuses or "you cruised in on an easy schedule!" bullshit from people even though I'd argue that you play the schedule you have and that's that for better or worse. The Giants play up to competition. They sleep walk and lose to shitty teams they shouldn't lose to (i.e. your Redskins). So if you guys get your shit together, that means more competition, better division and victory being that much sweeter.

Oh and we could dispute the AFC/NFC West comparison. The East was a shit at the level of those other divisions last season. It's part of the reason the Giants were able to "squeak in". I don't deny that and I don't care when the end result is another Lombardi in the trophy case.

He feels terrible about it. A perm ban does seem really, really harsh. It's a fine line though, so I suppose it's understandable. Still, I think 3-6 months would have gotten the point across as a first time offender.
Agreed. I do think the pic was crossing the line but if it was his first offense, definitely harsh as hell.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh, I get it now. Your RG3 argument holds much more weight now

Why would the league office approve the contracts if they would turn around and do this?!

Albert Haynesworth is like Syphillis. #nevergoesaway

Fuck you Roger. Seriously. Fuck you. I'm so mad, I'm laughing lol.

To make sure that the league overall is still paying players as much as they normally would.

At the most Landry will get a short term contract to prove himself but he would be pissed and sign somewhere else. Some one will take a chance on him, look at the Chargers and Bob Sanders. The cap hit is a horrible thing to happen but at least we didn't get Manning and have this happen, imagine that.

Landrys been a beast the last couple of years but i fear he will start to break down soon from all that roid use. I have no problem with focusing on Fletcher and a WR over him, but Vincent Jackson also scares the piss out of me.
