NFL Off-Season Thread: "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?"

Well, Cam Newton and Tebow are easily above RG3 considering college alone. Probably Troy Smith too, considering he lead his team to an undefeated regular season. You could argue Colt Mccoy based on his win-loss records in college. Vince Young was a better college QB for sure, and maybe Leinart too. Jason White was a really good college QB out of Oklahoma, but his glass knees guaranteed no NFL career.

Those are just off the top of my head. You could argue Griffin, sure. But I wouldn't put him in my top 5 based on college alone

What I mean by college alone is not using NFL production to judge them. Tebow and Cam oh hell naw. RG3 was hands down a better passer than both of those guys alone. Cam was a one year wonder and had character issues ontop.

Zero evidence of the Larry downfall. Holy fuck LOL.

They even deleted my part about Janoris Jenkins!

So here it is again, PatsGAF would you mind drafting Janoris Jenkins at 27 ? Knowing that he is incredibly stupid (especially the 4 kids with 3 women thing), but really talented ?

And what does the rest of Gaf think of Jenkins his football skills ?

NFL is taking away millions of dolllar of salary-cap space from Cowboys and Redskins for how they front-loaded deals during uncapped year.

Cowboys lose $10 million in cap space, Redskins lose $36 million in space. Can split it over 2012 and 2013 any way they want. More at ESPN.

All that money goes to 28 other teams -- $1.6 million each -- except for Saints and Raiders, who don't get any but don't lose any.

For the new page.

Easily win the division? Yea ok. We beat you when you had Warner (and had a shitty coaching staff), don't act like adding a hof QB suddenly means you go 6-0 in the NFC West.

1. Peyton is better than Warner
2. Our defense is better than in Warner era
3. Niners will have a few less wins than last season and it's certainly not a stretch to assume Cards get a few more wins with Peyton than with Skelton and Kolb. If we can beat you with Skelton, we sure as hell can beat you with Peyton. I'm not saying we'd go 6-0, but I'd definitely place us as favorite for the division. I don't think 5-1 would be unrealistic.

if the Bears give him that kind of money in FA I hope the McCaskey's have enough good sense to fire Phil Emery. that would be fucking stupid to sign a 30 yr old receiver to that kind of contract. you remember moose mohammed right?

You're comparing those two receivers? Really? And WRs last forever in the modern nfl.

WTF happened to the Redskins, 36 million cap space lost? Did they do something illegal, seems like they just took advantage of the rules.

Maybe this is why the Skins moved up? They wouldn't have been able to afford any of the free agents.

Also Manning to visit Titans according to PFT.

Ok, this is the way I read the first post and this post:

"Who was the best college QB?"

Which I still stand by my choices. And so what if Cam was a 1 year wonder? He was incredible that year. And no one knew who RG3 was, aside from people who really followed college football, until this year. You could say he was a variation of 1 year wonder

I hope the Skins front office didn't know about this cap hit before they made that deal last week. If so, they're worst than I even imagined. Either way, it sounds like they're getting a raw deal.

Edit: And just for clarification: Larry wants everyone to know that he was permanently banned.

We stomped you out with Skelton in sf. We had a let down and lost by 2 in zona on some fluke plays. Cards ain't shit!

yeah because you went 14-2, oh wait you barely squeaked in the playoffs.
...and won it all.

14-2, 9-7. Seriously, I couldn't give a flying shit about wins and losses in the regular season. In fact, I care about as much as you would if the roles were reversed and the Redskins had "squeaked into the playoffs" and won it all. Right?

Link me to the Baltimore Larry downfall, if you don't mind.

Bmore Larry was the most depressing poster on GAF. We all got problems, but goddam larry.

Enforcing this salary cap penalty on the Redskins and Cowboys 24 hours before free agency begins seems like a bit of a low blow as well (unless they knew that it was coming in advance).

Someone wanna tell me what happened with BLarry? I'm on my phone and can't browse with my normal alacrity.

Edit: in this thread?

so you're comfortable spending 13+ million a year on an inconsistent receiver who's never had a double digit TD year in his career, never mind the fact that the guy is 30 years old. the guy's never had the kind of production to warrant that kind of pay day.

i rather sign a mid-tier guy like Garcon who's only 25, draft somebody like Michael Floyd or Stephen Hill, instead of overpaying guys.

Meh. Every possible reaction I have to that could be construed as being a shitty pun.

Don't think this matters at all. But on Cam he had character issues, taking money and stealing a xbox or some dumb shit. On top of that RG3 had better passing stats, you could argue it was due to offensive scheme. You have to look at their skillset, who is more accurate, better release, decision making, footwork and all that jazz. Are you saying Cam is better is these respects?

Oh man. Can someone give us a rundown? It's the least we could do for one of our beloved fallen comrades.

Not much to rundown. BL Started talking about poop then went into detail about his, capping it off with a picture, which I was hoping was fake or a swerve, but hell if i'm gonna take the risk of checking.

Oh man. Can someone give us a rundown? It's the least we could do for one of our beloved fallen comrades.

It started with him asking how many times a day we poop.

He talked how he liked to post on GAF whilst pooping and how he likes to take pictures of his poop.

Then he posted a picture of his 'best poop' that 'looked like the Iowa Hawkeyes logo'.

You can't make up this shit.
