Naw, I"m not sure that they are a better team.

And blake still has room for improvement, you forget how young he is.

He'd also bolt from orlando, i think he has 1 year left after this one, so they get blake for 1 year?

Eh.

The Magic would do it in a heart beat. C'mon, look at some of the names being rumored in Dwight deals? Boozer? Pau? Even Bynum? Blake is on a rookie contract and would put asses in seats, even if its just for one or two years. And yeah, Blake is young, but so is Dwight, and he plays a much harder position to find stars in, and he's the best defensive player in the league, in addition to giving you as much on offense as Blake would. Clippers would improve drastically.

Only team that scares me is San Antonio with a healthy Manu. OKC is too young and doesn't have that killer instinct (yet) and I'd say 70/30 odds vs. Dallas due to Kobe revenge factor.

We have any Spurs LLs here? Scary team for real.

Commish has been a spurs fan since the tim duncan days.

The Utah Jazz are actively looking at trade opportunities to improve their roster. Devin Harris and Paul Millsap are receiving interest

The Los Angeles Lakers continue to express interest in Ramon Sessions, according to multiple sources.

If Bucks move Andrew Bogut, rival executives believe a Brandon Jennings trade would follow. Bucks' roster may look very different on Friday.

Bucks guard Brandon Jennings won't be traded, source close to the situation said.

Dwights great, but he's not THAT young anymore. He's 26. Blakes 22. Dwight is closely getting to that stage where, what you see is what he's got for pretty much the remainder. Blake has already been working hard on adding to his arsenal, and his midrange shot seems plausible.

And don't get me wrong, i think dwight is capable of a lot more than SVG is getting out of him.

I'm vastly disappointed with how pathetic the clippers are on defense. With their bigs, they should be the most agile defensive team in the league. But DJ is more interested in leaking out to get a alley oop, and blake just isn't that interested on D at all. All DJ has to be is Tyson Chandler, Get your alleys in the flow of the game, not by leaking out. And play great positional D, and be the vocal focal point for the Defense. I'd almost suggest the clippers should ban DJ from ever being the first person across the halfway line on offense.

Yes, right this second, Dwight is an instant upgrade. And you're not wrong about best defensive player.

My concern with the trade is that they basically have to send out Caron or DJ to go with Blake to get the salaries to come close to matching. You send out Caron, you're getting back Turk. Urgh. Instantly worse. You send out DJ you're probably taking Ryan Anderson Back. Urgh, instantly worse.

Dwights a better C right now, than Blake is a PF but is a partial short term upgrade (assuming Blake continue to develop) worth getting significantly worse at another spot?

I'm not so sure it is.

I think the clippers are one of few teams, that can make a legitimate case for NOT trading for Dwight. A lot of other teams cases FOR trading for Dwight are built around having a great future, not contending straight away, but protecting the future. The clippers should be ok in the bigs department going forward.

Phoenix could use some for Nash's farewell parade.

Please.... Sarvers not classy enough to do that, he'd use the money to try and entice him back to play for them for another 2 years.

The spurs are the one team in the play offs you could quite handily beat. And PHX if we're stuck in the 8th seed. We better not be.

Pop would coach circles around Brown. In a 7 game series I'm certain Pop finds some strategy that Brown is incapable of creating a valid adjustment to. Remember when Phx started zoning the lakers in the WCF and it took us 3 games to adjust and beat it by putting Odom at the baseline and Pau at the FT line (among other adjustments?)

Mike Brown NEVER beats that zone...if he lets Kobe design the offense, sure...but Pop would kill Brown in a chess match like Doc just killed Del Negro.

Doc would have killed Brown Sunday too except Kobe essentially drew up the final 2 plays and we got the win.

Brown has a serious D'antoni like problem - his offensive system isn't good, he doesn't make adjustments, just tells the players to run it better. Phil did the same, but his offensive system was gold, and he was amazing at adjusting between games.

Give me OKC over SA any day. If we get back on D and stop their transition / blowout wins we can beat that teams POS half court execution easier than we can beat Pop's brilliant coaching

Griffin will never be as good as Dwight is right now.

Eh... I'm not convinced of that. And they both rely a lot on their athleticism. So injury concerns are the same for both.

And remember, it's significantly worse, at one other spot.

The spurs can't match your size, and aren't athletic enough to abuse you in transition. If bynums healthy i think it's a fairly easy series for you.

Blake's rookie was better than D12's first 3 years... I can see him getting a mid range jumper and then it's on...

Also there are a lot of great PFs and no Cs

Blake literally plays offense only. All that athleticism to be a marginal defender.

That's what the off season is for. Blowing up a 'winning' team in the middle of the year is bad mojo.

Gotta sell high

Plus contract situations... its a lot harder to move a RFA at the end of the season than it is in the middle.

Evans' future in Sacramento uncertain

While it's not known whether the Kings (14-27) have fielded calls regarding Tyreke Evans, it's safe to say the third-year player's long-term future with the team is uncertain.

The 2009-10 Rookie of the Year is no longer considered the centerpiece of the Kings' new core, with that distinction clearly belonging to second-year center DeMarcus Cousins. Evans is eligible for an extension this summer but it's looking unlikely to be offered unless he shows major improvement.

His poor outside shooting remains an issue, and Evans' role changed drastically last month when he was moved from the point guard spot to small forward. Coach Keith Smart is using him as a point forward at times, a move that was inspired both by the poor play of veteran small forward John Salmons and the surprisingly good play of rookie point guard Isaiah Thomas. But the 6-foot-6 Evans is struggling with the adjustment, in large part because he isn't used to playing off the ball so frequently or not having a significant size advantage over his counterpart. The presence of guard Marcus Thornton has changed matters, too, as he is leading the team in shots per game at 15.5 (to Evans' 15.2 and Cousins' 14.2).

Evans, who has one season remaining on his rookie contract and could be a restricted free agent next summer, simply doesn't shine like he did in his debut. And if the Kings are convinced that Evans is likely gone after next season, they might be willing to move him for someone who can help expedite this slowest of rebuilding efforts.

Too logical. Makes way too much sense.

We'll just give him a max deal and reward him for continuing to not give a fuck even after 3 or 4 seasons in the league.

Looks like Favors can be had for the right price, though i doubt they trade him. Some kind of trade needs to happen though. Cmon Kevin!
Jazz Actively Exploring Trade Options
By Luke Adams

They may not be linked to any big-name trade candidates as Thursday's trade deadline approaches, but that doesn't mean the Jazz won't be active this week. GM Kevin O'Connor tells Jody Genessy of the Deseret News that he is "actively looking" at the team's trade options, with a focus on long-term gain.

"In the job that I have, one of the responsibilities is to improve the team," O'Connor said. "Now you can't improve the team without looking to make trades, and that's what we do. There's 29 other guys that have the same responsibilities to their teams, and they do the same thing. There's a lot of conversations."

While the Utah GM acknowledges that he's being aggressive in pursuing deals that could improve the team's long-term future, he said he doesn't want specific details on those talks becoming public.

"I hope the one thing that we do do is we don't get names out or possible scenarios out or anything else out," O'Connor said. "Because I think it hurts players."

Reports to date have suggested Derrick Favors, Devin Harris and C.J. Miles could be available, and there has been some speculation that Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap could be had at the right price as well. And while the Lakers' trade exception for Lamar Odom has received exponentially more attention, the Jazz have a large traded player exception of their own -- the $10.89MM exception they received when they dealt Mehmet Okur to the Nets won't expire until December.

"I see him, he was coming, and I'm like, I'm not going to let him just go, so I block."

"So I block." Nothing else needs to be said Biyombo, you are as well spoken as you are athletic. All hail BiSMACK Biyombo!

Remember when Utah fans were saying that the Jazz got a lot for trading Deron Williams and pointed to Derrick Favors and a "competent PG in Devin Harris"?

Yea...I was right. Nets got to rent Deron Williams for free for 1.5 years. And if Dwight gets what he wants and ends up in NJ...it will have been the panic-rush-without-thinking move that's almost as bad as Lamar's panic-rush-without-thinking TRADE ME demand.

I'd prefer that the Jazz keep Millsap since he's so reliable, but we are a bit overstaffed up front.

Devin Harris, Raja Bell, CJ Miles, and Josh Howard should all be on the block. I've been high on moving Jefferson as well, because even though he scores a lot, it seems that our bench makes their best runs when he's not eating up a ton of shots.

Get us a solid PG and a shooter and we'll be in business.
