Everyone that comes to this team plays Defense or puts an effort out. Especially with Mike Brown. He'll bench Beas in a second if he lacks it up on D especially with Artest / Barnes being such great defenders at his position.

I'm not worried about effort from Beasley, Kobe usually doesn't have issues with people putting an effort in the game when they play on the court with him, he'll rip into them.

The end of the Michael Beasley era is frustrating. The guy is so talented, I want him to succeed to badly, but he never put it together. That time he put up 42 on Sacramento, the game winners he hit on Cleveland and the Clippers, there are times when you see it. Just never consistently. Never enough to make him a long term keeper, especially when he didn't accept the sixth man role.

It's sad. Best of luck to the guy. Maybe that talent will manifest itself for somebody one day.
Just a total cocktease of a player

What makes you think he didnt? Publicly he said he has no problem with it and wants to stay in Minny. His play hasnt deteriorated since the move either, hes played about the same.

This is more of a "we want to bank on Derrick Williams rather than Beasley" move

He definitely didn't like it. You could see it in his body language on the bench at times. I read something in the Strib about how he didn't like it, too, in which he said he was a starter.

Derrick definitely makes him expendable, though, and he's been playing more small forward of late. For example, when the Wolves went on their run at the end of second in the Suns game, it was with a lineup of Pek/Love/Williams.

And you never know when to STFU. Clown.

Beasley & Sessions for Blake and (possibly) a draft pick... ehhhh... i'll take it... still an upgrade and brings depth to our bench.

ESPN.com reports that new guards Raymond Felton and Jamal Crawford have allegedly turned the team against McMillan.
Let's just put this way. Either the Blazers find a new home for Raymond Felton and Jamal Crawford (who have quietly orchestrated a mutiny ever since Nate McMillan chewed them out in a video session a while back) or they'll probably have to let Nate go. If I'm a Blazer fan ... I'd rather lose Felton and Crawford. They won't get a lot for either guy, but there is such a thing as addition by subtraction.

The Wolves, Lakers and Blazers are talking about a three-team trade that would send Ramon Sessions to L.A. along with Michael Beasley while Jamal Crawford would head to Minnesota. The Cavs are looking for a first-round pick in the deal and Steve Blake would go to Portland, according to multiple reports.

Think they meant 4 teamer.

The problem I have with the trade if I'm a Wolves fan is it removes one of their only assets for a piece that won't be there long term. At this point, they have to believe that the Rubio-Love-D Will-Pek core is enough to win, because they are out of the phase where they are going to get good draft picks.

I don't see where they can go from here because they don't have much flexibility left, and adding Crawford seems to be a short term solution for a team that should be looking much farther down the road.

The New Jersey Nets and Utah Jazz continue to discuss a C.J. Miles deal, according to sources close to the situation.

Little scared that Petro would steal minutes from Kanter, but hopefully Corbin isn't that dumb and short-sighted. Rockets' draft pick for a guy doing nothing good would be nice...

lol, this feels just like what Heat fans wrote when Beasley departed. Oh well, maybe the 3rd team is the trick for him

to me he's just the next antawn jamison, just score points off the bench (or start for a bad team) and space the floor

I don't want Sessions coming off the bench. I want him STARTING

I am done with Fisher. I. Am. Done. With. Him.

He will..NEXT year.

Lakers aren't getting a better PG in free agency OR with a late first round pick. Derek Fisher has proven that, with Kobe Bryant, you don't need to be elite for the Lakers to win. Sessions is so much better than Fisher and Beasley, though defensively challenged, instantly provides bench scoring (ain't we all know he ain't shy about shooting).

Lose Blake + draft picks < Sessions + Beasley

Sessions, Beasley, Barnes, Bynum, Glock.

That's a decent playoff bench.

Honestly, if the Lakers just had that they would have 5 more road wins. Hell, they wouldn't have lost to Washington and Detroit if they had a scorer off the bench.

beasley isn't a piece. he's a RFA this offseason. They were gonna let him walk, anyway.

Beasley isn't an asset, he really doesn't have much value. He was playing himself out of the rotation of a .500 team. Book's out on the guy.

I'm not sure, but if Crawford starts + plays for a playoff level team + has a good players' coach in Adelman, why wouldn't he want to stay?

Adelman was playing Luke at the 2 most the season, I'm sure he doesn't mind Crawford at the 2

I believe you when you said you read it somewhere, but I cant go with the body language stuff. Everybody is different and hell, I slump all the time because I have bad posture, doesnt mean Im unhappy with anything.

If he gets subbed and throws a chair, sure ;)

Yup. He was saying all the right things but you could tell he really wasn't digging it. Good for Beas.

I think Beas handled the whole benching thing rather professionally.

Of course he didn't like to be benched. Thats a good thing. Hes a competitor.

He will..NEXT year.

Sessions, Beasley, Barnes, Bynum, Glock.

I don't think the Lakers can afford to go 10 deep in the playoffs.

I doubt Glock plays a minute. It'll be Fish-Sessions-Kobe-Metta-Barnes-Pau-Bynum-McBobs-Beasley at most.

He's crazy and unreliable, I wonder if Kobe's "No bitchassness" policy, with Brown's supportive family atmosphere and Metta's understanding of crazy people will help him. We'll see I guess.

He also will have a much reduced role going from 2nd/3rd option for Miami to 3rd option for Minny to 4th/5th option for LA if Session comes to LA. So many question marks.

If Glock doesn't play, who backs up Kobe? or is he going 48 min?

Fish-Sessions
Kobe-Glock
Metta-Beasley
Bynum-Mcbobs (or sigh murphy)
Byunum -Pau

It will be a 9 man rotation. I have no idea Barnes role. They can't play him at the 2.

Makes sense. After their latest game (PDX vs. Pacers) someone asked Aldridge if there was anyone who wasn't all the way in or not giving it their all. Aldridge didn't explicitly say no but just said that it would probably be easier to see from the outside then from the inside (I'm paraphrasing.)

This whole team hasn't given a crap for while and i think it started with Felton for sure. After a while less and less people still cared and then Aldridge finally gave up hope and just shows up and goes through the motions.

I think its much more likely that Barnes or Metta get Kobe's (scant) backup minutes than Glock getting time.

As it should be. He hasn't done much to earn Brown's trust.

Awesome anti-Melo rant on Grantland.

The really painful part of this is that most of us knew this was a mistake before the Knicks made the trade. (Donnie Walsh knew it, too, which is why he’s no longer with the team.) The truth is, the anger I feel toward Carmelo is really anger that should be directed at owner James Dolan. If ‘Melo is Paulie, then Dolan, to continue the Godfather analogy, is basically Fredo, if Fredo were twice as stupid and three times as jumpy. When Fredo panicked, all he did was fumble the gun, sit down, and cry. Dolan would’ve accidentally fired it, hitting his father another couple of times in the back, before running away and hiding.

Yes. YES.
Well, I’m sick and tired of getting shot in the back by James Dolan. And, speaking for most Knicks fans, I demand that he trade Carmelo Anthony before the deadline expires. I know he won’t. Because that would require Dolan admitting he was wrong about something and then actually doing something about it. Which will never happen.
Don't mind me... I'm just here to sigh heavily, and wallow in the corner.

the Heat did everything with him. We coddled him, pushed him to his limits, gave him hugs when he needed it, etc. He's just high maintenance and self improvement isn't coming from anybody but within himself.

They can't play the 2.

Also, Glock has been the bench's best player. Easily. He's shooting over 40% from 3 since backing up Kobe (and not playing PG).

Glock not getting Kobe's minutes would be disastrous. One of the only shooters on the team.

Hey didn't Beasley work out with Kobe during the summer?

Michael Beasley will spend part of the summer in Los Angeles for the first time. He said he will work out with teammate Wes Johnson(notes) while there and Kobe Bryant(notes). Johnson worked out with Bryant a time or two last summer and hopes to do so again, only more extensively. Johnson and Bryant share the same agent, Rob Pelinka.

Oh, and Wes too? I see. Some help he was.
