Any good deals for 1,59 or 2x0,79 (euros, closest higher tier for $)) at the moment? Missed out on trying Kingdom Rush I guess.

I'm completely engrossed by new star soccer. It's free to play but the career mode is 99 cents and that's the bread and butter of the game. It's basically a kairosoft type game except that you are one of the players trying to make it, not the manager. You can play the online version here:

http://www.newstarsoccer.com/nssmobile.php

I came here to post about this also. It's a really fun management game, I've been playing it all day. I don't even like football either.

Is that as good as the PC versions?

The trailer of 5 is hilarious with the tech talk.

Do you actually play matches or just manage?

Edit: I guess you play too, what are the controls on iOS?

Edit: nevermind, saw the flash "demo" seems good enough.

What's the consumable IAP? And selling pitch/weather for an extra 0.99, heh.

Edit: eh, whatever, bought, it's pretty sweet, got the DLC too to support him.

The consumable IAP is basically a cheat for money, normally you have limited money (that you earn from your contracts) and need to choose wisely what to spend it on, energy drinks, properties, and stuff, for different bonuses. With buying them with real money instead you can, I guess, max out your stats before even playing in a match and get all the bonus items etc. I'm not gonna do any of that, it'd greatly reduce the replayability I think, part of the fun is seeing all your failures and improving.

And you don't play whole matches, you only get passing, shooting, intercepting, etc, mini games when your dude happens to get the chance based on his stats, so if you wanted a full soccer game this isn't it.

Back to the Future is amazing, at least on PC. Its abit easy but great none-the-less. It truly is Back to the Future 4.

telltale games run like shit on ios though. Plus if anyone was interested in buying one of their games, they go on sale like every two weeks anyways. No need to pay full price.

Rune Raiders came out and it's awesome. Only negative for me is the lack of levels (15). Sort of a new take on the SRPG with you choosing the formation of your party and moving the whole formation one move at a time.

Back to The Future runs fine on my IPad 2, but your right in that it will probably be on sale again in the near future.

Hooked on Kingdom Rush. Any other games like that? Already played and loved GeoDefence, Creeps and Final Fantasy CC.

MotoHeroz is coming to iOS? YES that's awesome, always wanted to try it on Wii but don't have a Wii so I couldn't play it on Wii so I wanted to buy a Wii but I didn't buy a Wii so now I can play it on iOS YAY.

Ohoh man, I love those games on PC. Spent far too many hours one semester playing 2 or 3 many years ago.

I'm in for this iOS version.

Actually, Chaos Ring 2 will be ~ 15.99. Like 2 bucks more for ipad version.

Meh, still half the price of the usual portable SE stuff. Suppose to be pretty great though.

Just tried it for a bit on my iPhone 4, it's very slick and fun!

Also tried Fireball SE for a bit, cool stuff though probably not as great as Super Crossfire.

From DoDonPachi Resurrection HD description:
"This game may not be played in intended speed if played on iPhone 4."

Not disappointed, expected this. Performance of DDPR clearly showed they were not going to be able to deliver an HD version that runs smoothly on iPhone 4. Game will probably rock on 4S and above though!
Looks like the Espgaluda II HD universal update is out too...I don't see any updates for the individual smarphone/arcade versions though :(

Edit-Tried the lite version on my iPhone 4, looks like ~30fps vs the normal 60. It's playable enough (at least on the first demo level) but I'm not sure it's worth the hit.

Oooooh there's lite versions, cool, checking em out.

Looks like the individual versions of Espgaluda are universal too...not showing up on my iPhone for whatever reason though, seeing the update on my iPad only.

Been enjoying Princess Punt quite a bit. Though, my progress has substantially slowed to a crawl since I got to area 5. EX Area 5 has helped, but some of the game systems, especially the lottery are disgustingly shameless cash grabs.

Cash grabs aside, it's fun!

Any reviews out there yet said anything about playing iphone games on the new ipad? will it use iphone retina resolutions? The ipad 2 never did unless you jailbroke.

*edit* oops game thread, but still a related question :P

Would have bought the HD version of MotoHeroz if it was universal. Oh well; one buck version it is.

Eh, maybe I'll just get the HD version anyway since I usually like playing games more on the iPad than the iPhone.

Well, I just cleared the normal campaign in Military Madness Neo Nectaris on my iPhone.

Now onto the advanced campaign. This is going to be a fucking bitch. Yet, oh so much fun.

You haters out there don't know what you're missing.

Fuck. Dungeons & Coin has been keeping my attention all day. It's so addictive, just because of the RPG elements. You take out small enemies by dropping coins in the slot to initiate the slot machine, which can give you magic or an attack. You take out these guys to get a big boss, who gives out big prizes. Later on, once you're "powerful" enough, the big boss can actually kill you, making you not get the big boss prizes. To do this, you have to change up your magic slots to a more defensive, healing setup. You save up coins to buy items or earn them via random quests to give you more magic slots. Earning magic and getting items to upgrade your magical capabilities all wrapped in a classical "just one more" game? Ugh. Time waster total. It totally shits on the pathetic Power of Coin. You can leave it and get points over time a lot quicker than Power of Coin and the whole system is just a lot more addictive. Graphics on Power of Coin are a tad bit better, but it never captured me like D&C has. Physics in D&C are also lots better.

I'm disgusted at the amount of time I waste with iOS. And the fact that I just wasted 10 minutes talking about fucking coin pusher apps.

Chaos Ring 2 is out in US!

$18

$25 HD

DAMMMNNNNN. It's like the price of a budget handheld game!

It's not out in Canada yet... Or not out in the iPhone Appstore, not sure which.

EDIT: NVM, typed in "Chaos Rings 2" when it's called "Chaos Rings II", my bad.

Chaos Rings and Omega are on sale too, for 3.99 and 4.99

Difference between the two? Omega is the prequel, but any gameplay changes?

Recommendations for just getting one?

Any gaming recommendations for my granny's iPad 1? She plays Platinum Solitaire, Bejeweled, Tumbledrop, Chinese Checkers, Scrabble, basically any simple puzzle or card game that doesn't have too much of a learning curve or complex mechanics.

Scrabble?

You might be able to get her into Tower Defense games. Plants vs Zombies is a good beginner TD.

Power of Coin or Dungeons and Coin
Instructions: toss coins.

(power of coin is easier to understand what's going on)

iPhone apps will never use Retina for iPad. The point of this separation is to force developers to either make Universal or iPad native apps and prevent people from getting lazy, making most apps black bar on iPad.

Except they do on The new iPad.
