Hahaha. A real long shot. Like if the Reapers forgot that they could just vent the Citadel of all air and call it a day since they had direct control.

It's actually pretty insane when you think about how many important side characters could have just got straight up liquidated off-camera.
The entire council, Barla Von, The Consort, Kolyat, Kelly Chambers (if not already dead), Aria, maybe even Orianna?
Really fucked up stuff there. Plus, it makes Thane's heroic death was less poignant when you consider he was likely going to die once they got there anyways.

Jack has a real arc at least. Miranda is just the most horrible person in the universe, "oh Im so perfect, but I have low self-esteem, I wan't a baby, your my only friend but you cross me so you die, my genes blah, blah" seemed to get a bit better in this game but if I could I would have blown her out the airlock in ME2.

I don't believe the free part, but I could see Bioware scrambling to remake an ending that satisfies people. This (the ending right now) is the iceberg that is going to sink Bioware, not TORtanic. People gave them a pass since DA2 wasn't ME and TORtanic wasn't ME. But ME3 is ME and that is the breaking point for most people.

If Mordin and Thane die in ME2, how do the scenes that they're vital to play out in ME3? I'm curious about that. Also if you chose Samara's daughter over her in ME2, how does that play out in ME3?

I personally broke that quest chain somehow. Went to her apartment before I got her e-mail. Her dialogue made no sense because of that. And she survived (as a non love interest character).
