Mass Effect 3 SPOILER THREAD: LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE

Hell, it's mentioned in the hour of "Arrival" DLC storylines that destroying the relay is hard to do and may kill an entire system. But I guess they didn't get free DLC passes for that from Bioware, the bastards. :(

Not to mention it's mentioned in the ME1 codex that they're hard to destroy as well

They like the ending and that's fine. But many people do not and telling them "well, you're not the authors" is stupid as well. Sure, we aren't the authors, but that doesn't mean we can't hang the authors by their toes and flay them alive for a crap ending.

I don't think you have to state it. It goes without saying that she's just trying to do her job, and it's hard to talk to people whom she doesn't even know about reasons she's not fully aware of -- besides the fact that people keep mentioning that the ending was disappointing. Keeping the conversations civil is her main priority, and being vague helps.

Nah its completely unacceptable. These people are trained, lets not keep pretending they are clueless and without any idea of whats going on. They are also VERY trained in how to lead a discussion both closed and open and which can include, "What do you like besides the ending?" Which a couple have and not answering unless they can. They are NOT doing that and going out of their way to NOT do that actively picking questions about the ending, Shepard continuing and so forth.

Anyway. Thats how I feel. I train people who do this and this kind of vague doublespeak would get them pinched instantly because they weren't using the typical communication rules for twitter and businesses. I mean good businesses not some fake Florida real-estate company or something:)
But hey whatever. Just seems completely fucked to me. Seems like no one else agrees so I will take that complaint elsewhere or something.

Maybe Obsidian will stay running and pick up a good license and move forward and replace Bioware in this RPG category for me.

The camel toe looks similar to the Crucible at the end. Indoctrination by vagina.

Some of you guys's anger stages are frightening. :|

I think the worst thing about this pic is how the player is using Vega as one of the squadmates.

James is super fucking good. A 20% bonus to squad shields and HP is huge. He also does a ton of damage with Carnage and can tank like a pro. And he can share incendiary rounds so I can stick with Disruptor and switch when I need the extra armor dmg.

James and Ashley are essentially the same thing, but James is quite a bit better. And I don't mind him as a character either. His VA is good.

The only downside is you have to listen to him talk during missions instead of someone better like....anyone else in your squad.

I take it you aren't going to watch the Mass Effect anime starring Vega?
Who will?

I don't know anything about PR except that it tries to downplay the negative and to keep people interested. It seems that's what she's doing.

Yeah, he was a beast. I really hated brining Ronnie from Jersey Shore with me on every mission, but having him carry that huge fucking shotgun and fire Carnage at baddies made my Insanity playthrough possible. On the missions when I couldn't take him, I definitely struggled. It's too bad Wrex or Grunt weren't back - I used them as tanks in previous games. Ashley was my shotgun-wielding tank in ME1, but she can't use shotguns in ME3, so whatevs :(.

But the dialog, man! I couldn't resist not typically sticking to ME mainstays like Garrus, Tali, and Liara. I always mixed with those 3 with javik occasionally. Eff the rest.

He basically has the Krogan skillset without the badassness of actually being a Krogan, so he's not that bad there. I think it's more interesting to bring people along that might offer some insight or funny quips, though, and like every human squadmate he's a dullard.

Obsidian is my new savior:)

But heck they are probably not coming back from this. I still have Arcanum sitting around here somewhere.

On a scale of 1-10 how embarrassing is the PAX East panel going to be? I hope for there sake they don't take questions.

Hah fair enough. I didn't mind James' character at all to be honest. He just seemed like a typical "fuck yeah bro" soldier and it seems crazy for there not to be one of those in my squad.

Infiltrator Shep (with Disruptor ammo and slam as a special ability), James and Javik is a damn fine insanity mode squad. It needs an overloader, but Disruptor ammo does the job.

I thought about this earlier. Knowing Bioware's clout and how much control they seem to have over the industry I bet there is an insane rules list and controlled entry to it. There is no way that PAX is going to allow normal fans in there without a screening or warning or signing of some kind. It could be a mess. I hope it isn't I want Bioware to stand as the problem here and not fans responding to their stupidity.

I would hate for fans to get the negative here. I want that solely on their shoulders.

Have we been playing the same franchise?

It was never a theme that solely defined ME's universe until the Catalyst brought it up as the Reapers' sole purpose. (Hell, it even allows you to completely subvert the theme by bringing peace to the Quarians and Geth, as well as EDI's development).

It's like making a fantasy role-playing game suddenly center around mages against templars in the last hour or something.

They should auction off a bottle of authentic Tali sweat. Highest bidder writes a new ending. What could go wrong?

Imagine how good your squad would be with Garrus instead of James! Better powers (Overload, and ArpAmmo > Inferno imo), better character, and if you have the particle beam, better damage.

what time span does the game take place in? Nobody ever mentions the passage of tiem that I can recall. Nobody really seems to be in a real hurry to get shit done. And theres no way they can Lego the Crucible together in a couple weeks.

This is not what you mean, but I did like how the game sends another wave of Cerberus troops at you for Eve's last checkpoint in the Salarian lab if you delay sending her up because you're roaming around looking for weapon/fund pickups. Mordin scolded me for taking too long.

my playstyle as an Adept really depends on having a tank along with Tali spamming her defense and combat drones... it's how I've played each ME. Shepard's getting old. It's too much to expect her to learn how to change her squad tactics.

Again, it's proven wrong by the geth and EDI. The whole thing is a subplot up until the ending and then it's just thrust into the spotlight for no damn good reason.

Even if you broker peace between the Geth and the Quarians, how long do you think that will last? They live on the same planet and even Tali is still holding grudges against the Geth afterwards. Not to mention that another race could just as easily create a new race of synthetics and peace might not be an option if they revolt.

Hah, didn't know that.

You get a game over when you're in the cerberus base if you don't get EDI to the computer quick enough when they're about to air the room out.

Tali mentions that she would have killed them if it was her choice and that it would've been wrong.

Synthetics aren't even the problem. The QUARIANS are the complete assholes here, they started everything and if it goes poorly in 3, they're the only reason their own race gets wiped out. It's organics that fuck stuff up.

Regardless, it was a big theme of the game and the fact that the ending gives you no way to bring it up is an incredibly niggling issue that goes against pretty much everything Mass Effect is.

How do you know they all won't be wiped out by bacteria?

I liked the ending, I went the path of Shepard killing all of the reapers. The imagery of the kid throughout was poor, that is true but the actual pay off of the ending worked for me. THe entire normandy crew being displaced in some planet, the same planet that looks like is in the post credits is interesting.

It's a little dismissive to call the relationship between organic and synthetic life a subplot. Yes, EDI and the Geth illustrate that representatives of both types of existence can cooperate, but that collaboration doesn't somehow close the book on the overall theme the series has been exploring.

I just think it's a stretch to call the synthetic life theme a subplot in a story that began with the premise that "ancient machines harvest organic life every 50,000 years, stop them."

I used Garrus a lot on my first playthrough (normal) but I find he tends to not add much when I'm an Infiltrator.

And Arp ammo isn't better than Incindiary – not in my experience anyway. Warp ammo is just like Arp but quite a bit stronger and does more dmg to banshees when they have their barriers up. Incindiary has the stun factor for Cerberus troops and the mini explosions at max level. Also I think Carnage is better than the high impact shot. Rips up brutes, harvesters, etc.

You don't need overload when you have sabotage anyway. Atlas and turrets are a non-issue. I can just snipe the atlas driver and steal the mech anyway. And Geth are cake with sabotage too

Love Garrus, but for Insanity mode it's James +1 (Liara, Kaidan or Javik)

That may be true, but the fact that the Reapers, machines, themselves are killing organics pretty much creates a paradox in their logic to "Reap."

No wonder the Council always used air quotes.

The focus was never really on them being machines though. They were always portrayed as something more akin to Cthulhu-esque space horrors.

My insanity squad was mostly Garrus + Liara/Tali, with Garrus + Javik going into London. Probably due to how, as an engineer, I could strip every defense and CC at will, so damage was the most important part for me.

I romanced Tali and even then they were flirting a little bit with each other but it's okay, if anyone was to bang Tali after my Shepard died I'm glad it was Garrus.

Poor Garrus, always getting the leftovers.

I'm guessing that would be after you kill Kai Leng? Liara and Garrus were on seperate sides of that thing garrus uses all game talking about old times, since tali was my LI.
