I just read up on the indoctrination theory.

It would be awful it was true. When you start using minor textures as an argument you know you're wrong.

16 Endings. Your choice matters. It's not as simple as choosing A, B, or C. -Casey Hudson

I've seen all the endings; well at least I have seen all the endings where your combat readiness exceeds 5000 and galactic readiness was 97% across all galaxies. I reloaded from the point at the end just to go through the 3 main choices.

I have my own theory on the endings that don't go into 'indoctrination' but are more....simple. There are a few very key points made by the Guardian right before you make your choice about why the reapers exist and what their purpose is. The Prothean VI also makes a point of saying to Shepard that while the Reapers might think or at least behave in a way that suggests they are enforcing their own will, they too are simply just a part of the cycle and that there is a reason higher than the Reapers own agenda that keeps them in place, that they are nothing more than pawns in the same cycle.

Putting into place what the guardian has to say and the role the Reapers and sentient life forms of the galaxy have to play, the resolution is imo, adequate and fleshed out enough to justify the end sequences.

However in saying that I do agree that A; there's not really sixteen different endings, at least endings that don't really differentiate themselves enough but that may also be because B; the choices you make all pretty much have exactly the same final cutscene minus approx 30 seconds of footage that alters depending on the choice you make on the crucible.

I think a lot of people are ticked off more because the cutscenes don't really reflect how different the choices you make are and show how it will alter the future for the citizens of the galaxy. In saying that however, it leaves it a little more open to the perception of how it could effect future generations and their evolution; it's just you don't get a straight forward cutscene spelling it out.

If you were expecting a really cut and dry 'I made this decision, I want to see the results on the future of each species and how it effects the galaxy' through an end game cutscene then yeh, you're going to be disappointed. However the implications of how radically it could change the galaxy are made pretty clear, they just aren't shown and the viewer is left to wonder what is in store for those species post reaper invasion.

The very end after the credits, pretty self explanatory. Old dude passing down a tale of how and why they came to be where they are now. Not a lot more to that part.

Re-loaded the save and tried the ending where you control the Reapers. Same shit with different colored rays and Joker isn't hugging EDI. Oh, and the cutscenes went haywire, everything had a blue filter over it.

The fuck is this shit.

The ending where you kill synthetics should be amazing...

Never mind.

I would feel bad for whoever is manning the twitter account, but after that stupid long dick reply, I'm glad they're getting shit on.

Being able to troll the ME twitter is almost enough to finally get me to sign up. I want them to feel even 1/10 of the depression that I felt after that ending.

It is bullshit they ended the game like they did to leave it for DLC. The fact they are doing that is quite disgusting. They should just leave it as is, or created a better ending.

Gah

In general people just have a big problem with abrupt, vague, nonsensical endings which ignore their fictions established internal logic and themes. People are weird though.

this is the ending i wanted and hoped to get if i got 5000+ war assets and 100% galaxy at war readiness:

Ah, when mordin sacrificed himself to get the cure, and he started singing to himself :) sooo goood

Also, the twitter guy needs to stop winking at me, it sends a weird signal ;)

My god, didnt realize so many people were reading this thread with all the replies to a single question in less than a minute.

Why do all of the aliens, even the ancient ones like the protheans, speak english?
the Prothean flashbacks were seen by Shepard only and he/she understood it from previously touching the beacon. when you viewed the videos, your squadmate asked, "you understood that?"

as for the other aliens...who knows.

Everyone uses a translator unless you're the humans or their long lost cousins the turians who can understand each other. Like in that one shitty ME comic.
