Update:
I have a feeling the Calvin Johnson contract is about to be made to look small in so far as comparing defensive player salaries.
I guess Schefter says Mario's contract is 6 years

Yep. No word on the money yet. I'm guessing between 90-110 million. 32-34 million guaranteedgoldlion054 said:I guess Schefter says Mario's contract is 6 years
Albatross.
Say goodbye to the interior OL and Byrd. At least the fans got what they wanted.

Don't have official numbers on Mario Williams in BUF yet, but been hearing $16M a year with $50M guaranteed not out of the question
Just like a steeler fan to want to face a weakened opponent!!!

Woohoo Buffalo! Now just draft smartly and we should be pretty well off! Perhaps go after a WR in the draft to take some heat off Johnson.

Isnt the idea that by overpaying for Mario you send the message that the Bill are going to be serious going forward and hopefully this will get other players to want to play there. The Bills have been stuck in this build through the draft cycle for a long time without much to show for it. Maybe this will help get them over the hump.
Some more good news for you, La Canorfa is saying $16 mil a year and $50 mil guaranteed is what he is hearing, and isn't out of the question.

Kyle Williams, Marcell Dareus and Mario Williams will be a good combo on the DL. Was Kyle's injury a serious one? That can be a forceful lineup.
I believe they are switching to a 4-3 this season.goldlion054 said:Didn't Buffalo switch to a 4-3?
I'd like to see Dareus do better, perhaps with Mario around, that'll happen. Were the Bills going back to a 4-3? Would this signing signal that Buffalo would not choose Upshaw on Draft Day?
Barring drafting a wideout, I mentioned earlier that Mario would probably be a good fit with the Bills because you have an established #1 in Stevie Johnson. He can do well as a #2. If he signs with a team that gives him big money and forces him into a #1 receiver position, I think he'll flounder.LJ11 said:Edit: No thanks Manningham

Congrats to Mario Williams signing in buffalo... far away from the NFC north, thanks big guy
Looks like I'll be putting my Mario Williams jersey in that spot right next to my Dunta Robinson jersey.
Funny thing is I still don't see Buffalo Bills as a threat.
I fucking hope it doesn't cost us Byrd. Ralph has one guy who handles all cap issues, the GM doesn't do shit. They go to Overdorf and ask if they can sign X, if he says yes they can, lol. I'm sure they've crunched the numbers, don't think Buddy is dumb, hope not.
Kyle had a bone spur that was impinge his Achilles, had it for a few seasons. Says he hasn't walked this well since college, but who knows. I'm not a doctor and I've read conflicting shit.
Doubt they go Upshaw, would be a disservice to him actually, you never know though. He's as stout as it gets against the run, and run D has been an issue. Can't set the edge for shit.
Alonzo Mourning is the only jersey I've ever not had to retire.
Jason Taylor
Zach Thomas
Chris Chambers
Ricky Williams
Shaquille O'Neal
Scott Mellanby
All jerseys of mine that at one point had to be temporarily retired. I want to get a Wake jersey but I'm pretty certain if I do he'll end up getting traded.

Heh @ Rodgers:
I really doubt this signing will cost us Byrd. This was a statement signing, not something that's going to become a regularity at OBD. Nix has said their top priority is to keep the guys they have. Unless his whole philosophy has changed, I don't see losing guys being a problem.

Mario Williams' deal in Buffalo: six years, up to $100 million, including $50 million guaranteed.
These contracts will be fucking the Giants over when it's time to resign Nicks and Tuck, even Knee...

Nicks and JPP are the two that frighten me the most. Thankfully, the TV money will have kicked in and the cap should explode by the time they are up for resigning. Both are going to make frightening money if they continue to produce at the level they are. Reese will do his best to lowball though!Nemesis121 said:These contracts will be fucking the Giants over when it's time to resign Nicks and Tuck, even Knee...

What a great picture. How can you not like this man?
Telepathy. How do you discuss this? In the thread or via PM or something ?
Nicks is due 2014. JPP the year after.Striker said:Nicks is the next Giant to get a big deal, I imagine. JPP won't for a few years.

I'll just discuss it here then.
