I'm disappointed to see him go, but holy shit that contract is ridiculous. The Texans can find a couple guys in the draft to be second stringers while Barwin and Reed fill in and make a fraction of that money.
Now if we let Meyers and Briesel go im gonna start throwing shit, losing 3/5 of the best line in football, wtf.

Well, that part is true, actually. History has shown that it usually takes one giant FA signing to get players thinking the culture of losing has changed. Players do want to get paid, but they also want the chance of winning.
If we pull off a decent season, we may pull ourselves out of the pit that Detroit and NO were in not all that long ago.
Or, we could just fuck it up and end up like the Browns.

If you want other talented guys to not ignore your team during FA, you have to have a track record of paying.
If you want to pay less for great talent, you have to have a history success.

Reggie White was important not because he was good, he was important because he was an Alpha dog. He could bring people with him, make people believe and most importantly, dispel the ridiculous notion that black people weren't welcome in Green Bay. Perceived racism was a massive, massive issue for the Packers before White, and he ended that.
It was transofrmative on so many levels. The Williams signing is just a good player going to a crappy team.

Who should be the Bills QB?
Last season was Fitzpatrick's first full year starting. He played half the year injured and still put up numbers to land around the middle of the league's QBs. He's a good stop-gap option for a couple years. And don't even bring up his contract. It's not THAT ridiculous.

Stop gap doesn't win championships. And if BaltimoreLarry is lurking, the Bills haven't shown they have the defense of 2000 Ravens.
Fitz isn't complete shit, but in today's NFL, you need better than "stop gap" if you want to go anywhere significant.
As to who...yeah, I'd say splurge on Flynn, let them battle it out. See who comes out on top. I know Kolb shit the bed, but I really thought he was going to suck anyway. I think Flynn will be pretty damn good.
