Blazers are blowing this thing up. Rockets, Lakers, Pacers, Spurs are upping the stakes. Not sure what Clev & Nets are doing …

Excellent...we're back in this year's draft...

The Warriors landed a first-round pick after all.

A team source confirmed Golden State traded Stephen Jackson to the San Antonio Spurs for small forward Richard Jefferson and a conditional first-round pick.

So, who are the Blazers going to cut? They have to have too many players after those moves, right?

I think so, too.

Yep. They need to cut at least two players. Bye Felton and Okur. They should cut another player and bring back Patty.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't want to see Fish actually traded, just benched. I love everything Fish did for the Lakers.

Gonna be weird seeing them compete for a title without him.

Not getting Beasley isn't a big deal. he isn't much better than Barnes and now the team might actually run.

Jordan Hill could take Murphy's minutes as the backup C...I hope.

Jordan Hill? Why would the Lakers trade a pick for him? They probably just wanted to avoid the headache of Fisher demanding to be a starter.

Not this year, no.

He could "retire" and comeback next year.

Yeah, they can pay him the vet min just so he can hang around for a last season. I'm ok with this since the Lakers will have 2 PGs playing over him.

The Dallas pick is heavily protected anyway, and the Lakers do need a backup Center. So it's all good.

it is exactly about this.

Fisher has his streak. he would have demanded to start. But Blake + Sessions are better. It would have become a problem. Mitch new it. he ain't dumb.

Lakers felt they needed to part ways. Sad, but true.

thanks for everything, Fish. Will always root for ya (except against us or if you join the Cz/heat).

It also shed more salary for next season.

Why did they trade a 1st to the Rockets though? They have no draft picks left to offer right?

Correct.

That's the plotline of practically every Minny trade to date.
Kahn's trading/signing has not been bad. Its his drafting that has sucked.

Jon Krawczynski‏@APkrawczynski Sounds like #Twolves are standing pat. Not the worst thing. Portland wanted Ridnour and Kahn and Adelman would not relent. Hard to blame em.
Fuck off PDX, you're not getting our Tebow

Patty sucks. We need a legit pg. For now though he would be better than Felton. Hopefully they'll play nolan more.

Get 1sts, keep cancers to tank, get good picks, get rid of cancers.

TANK COMPLETE

Holy shit, the Lakers got a 1st rounder and another player out of DEREK FISHER?!?!

Reading up, did Woj mistweet and they had to give up a 1st then?

Jordan Hill has a team option this upcoming offseason. we shed a decent amount of salary to resign Sessions if we want to.

Fisher has a player option, Jordan Hill has a team option, and getting rid of the first means they don't have to give someone a guaranteed contract.

Slick way to shed salary, if Hill doesn't pan out you let him go before the start of next season, where as there's no doubt Fisher would have picked up his option.

Blazers still have Jon Diebler too right? And why don't you guys throw Nolan Smith into the starting rotation fire?

Lakers are smart.

Black Mamba...I wish it was that but I doubt it. Kupchak doesn't seem like the type of guy who trades Fisher away.

Every move the Lakers have done, even the Sessions move, resulted in us lowering our payroll. Fisher may have given problems, but all the vets on this team loved him...this was a salary cut cheap ass Jim Buss type move

Excellent...we're back in this year's draft...

bleh

that sours the deal a little

jk we just saved ourselves of 3 years of Richard Jefferson! The thought of a 35 year old Jefferson being on our roster....and paying him 10 million! *shudder*

Now, JAXXX is 34 now, but at least he only has 2 years on his deal. Plus, he loves it here. He could give us some grit, and I think we need that. Be our Deshawn Stevenson.

Damn, I wish the Bulls FO had half the savvy of the Lakers' FO. Our people are so fucking timid. They Sterned into Derrick Rose, and now got shitted on.

I don't think we actually do still have Jon....... In any case I'm happy with just playing nolan/crawford starting and cutting Felton out right.

That makes sense. Thanks.
