I got it.

It's 64391 + 64681. The picture on Bricklink for one of those parts confused me thinking the geometry was different than it really is

Civil/Structural working at a company called Phoenix Fabricators. I design composite (concrete + steel) water tanks. It's pretty awesome, not gonna lie. :)

E: My profession is exactly why I dig the buildings/bridges of Lego, ha. Very little else really and truly appeals to me.

Perfect occupation for a Lego fan! I work in IT and love all things tech so maybe that has something to do with why I like the sci-fi Star Wars line so much.

Is that 8070 Supercar still available? Might get it this weekend.

Yes it is, came out last year.

I have no idea how would that even work. On the side where they're supposed to join together, x1980 panel has 5 pins, and the 64683 has just 3 pins.

It would probably need to be 64682 instead of 64683, as that one has 5 pins too. But then, the whole construct would look too big, compared to what's on sarigar picture, I think. Also x1980 does not even exist in white color :\

The construct on the picture does look the same though.

There are smaller panels so it may be two of them?

Here's my mock up using the parts in my image above and some other for effect.

I'll see if I can find some small panels and take a photo with both and minifig for scale.

Oh not picture in mine up there was a mini basketball set and a full football field (soccer) set.

Yep, I'm pretty sure those are the two! As I mentioned above, one of the pictures on brick link confused me as to the shape of one of those.

Torn on whether I am going to buy this... the lack of wheels is a downer, though I could also MOD it. May wait to see if/how someone else adapts it to use Power Functions.

Fuck Fed Ex.

All day it (Town Hall) was listed as on the truck. Then suddenly it was scheduled for tomorrow. I call and they say it was because I changed it to be held at a Fed Ex store. Granted, I changed it before it ever got to the facility.

So calling around, and now they say it was put on the wrong route altogether.

WTF!?

Now it wont be delivered until tomorrow sometime. Bastards. I have to work all damn day tomorrow too.

I'm interested in buying either a large castle/pirates set from the 90's. There are many choices but what would be some good suggestions?

I would really love to buy the Sail n' Fly Marina if I can find it for a decent price.

I remember now that I tried to change a fedex delivery years ago to avoid them leaving it unattended at my door, and ended up having to go pick it up days later at their airport office. I imagine that logistics are a problem when you request changes, but they probably shouldn't even offer it if it fucks everything up.

Now my building security is cool though, so they just hold things for me in the office.

I am going to join when this puppy hits the shelves...

either it's not a true modular or the baseplate is deeper than a regular modular, the little side entrance thing on the side would prevent it from connecting to another modular. Though if it's deeper it could fit behind the other modulars.

I would be happy having it replace the Cafe Corner as one of my corner lots, but I have an even grander hope in that TLG is planning a series of Halloween modulars - one per year, that all interconnect. Not just buildings either - they could have a graveyard, or a pumpkin patch, etc.

Yeah even if it's not a modular I'm still gonna be all over that shit, I can just imagine all the cool little details they'll throw in for the interior, skeletons chained to the walls in the attic, cobwebs etc.

I actually did a modular pet store MOC years ago (well before the LEGO pet store was even announced), but when I had fuckall pieces (so it's pretty ugly) but I made the attic haunted...

Actually looking back at it there's a few things that are similar in the real LEGO pet store, the 2 birds on a perch, the fact that it's a half width modular.

Well, my shipment came in today:

I've got some work to do...

Save the shuttle for last. I have not built it, but everyone raves about it. You dont want to spoil yourself early with it. Save that one for the grand finale.

And now that the anger about FedEx not delivering Town Hall today has subsided (and I had a beer to soothe the pain), I see it as a sign from Zod that I should work on my art that my brother needs for his theater company if I want to get paid for it.

I was at my parents this weekend and sorted through my entire collection. It seriously took 2 full days to organize all the pieces. I forgot my camera while I was there though, but I picked this up at BnN.

fun build but a bit repetitive with the wall structures.

NOPE, I'm doing the shuttle first. I've already got it opened! I watched an 80 minute documentary about the history of the shuttle program last night on youtube (narrated by Shatner) so I've got shuttle on the mind. It has two instruction books to it, nice.

I'm gonna get it done tonight, I'll post pics when it's together.

Enjoy the build, but it is kind of blowing your load early.

Of course, now you can have the cool down builds after that. :)

Bought bought bought bought!

Who am I kidding? Bought as well. Perfect thing for me to redeem all those recent VIP points on. Grand Emporium will have to come later.

That reminds me of those dumb ass Verizon commercials lately, where they guy is debating between the Droid phone and an R2 unit to purchase. What moron would ever choose a phone over R2D2? NO ONE!

I want it badly when I look at the body, but go to "not sure" when I see the head. Good price for the amount of pieces and being a Star Wars set. And will be a fantastic display piece.

I think it just needs to have some flat pieces on top to hide the stud look. It works for large ships alright, but it doesn't work for what's supposed to be a fairly smooth sphere surface.

I would have thought they would have made it a mix of sloped pieces and flat angles like the body and legs are. It is so weird because the body looks fucking incredible, while the head looks like regular lego builds with no advance techniques (although they are surely there.)

Nah, I'm saving the Technic Unimog for last. I've always loved the technic sets, and thats the one I'm looking most forward to.

It makes me dread the eventual calamari cruiser.

SNOT techniques will make or break this thing.

Technic was always fun. And doesn't seem to get as much love in this thread. The Imperial Shuttle had a nice mix of cool Technic stuff and major model team style. I love seeing all the crazy gear work and shit they pull off in those sets.

And dammit...the more I see of that R2 unit the harder it is to resist. After all, it is fucking R2D2. It should be a really cool build to get all the little moving details in there, and it will look fucking awesome on display. Bonus: It doesn't take up an insane amount of space either.

I want a damn medical frigate before a Mon Calimari cruiser.

And where are my B-Wing pictures dammit? That is another Mon Calimari ship that deserves a respectful Lego set!

The only modulars I own are the mini ones, and I plan on keeping it that way :p

Ha. Yeah, that's my plan, too.

I think I'm done Legoin' for now. This is what I've ended up with using a rather haphazard approach:

5766 Log Cabin
5891 Apple Tree House
7956 Ewok Attack
4182 Cannibal Escape
5764 Rescue Robot
10230 Mini Modulars

All below RRP and totaling 280AUD, give or take. I'm satisfied.

EDIT:
Nah, I'm saving the Technic Unimog for last. I've always loved the technic sets, and thats the one I'm looking most forward to.

The Unimog is a great build, but it does get a bit brutal towards the end; it does have 2000+ pieces, after all. The pneumatic tubes will make you want to die.

HAVE FUN!

For those LEGO lovers in Calgary, Alberta, the Chapters in Shawnessy is currently offering a 20%-50% sale on a bunch of their lego sets and minifigures.

Sale goes until the 31st of March and I did see the Star Wars X-Wing is included. Tagged at $75 so I would think that's before the reduction.

Mingfigures were 20% off and they seemed to only have Series 6. I ended up getting one and since it's the season, I chanced upon the Leprechaun.

God I wish Lego would provide better quality PDFs. iPad is great at holding all my manuals digitally but a lot of them look like shit

wetwired, you just need to go work for TLG already

I wish, though it would fulfill a childhood dream, I remember when we had a lego dude come to out school selling dacta lego or something and I asked him what I had to do become a guy who builds the lego sets, he said "you need a degree in engineering" which shattered me

You didn't want to go into engineering?
