seems about right....about 8mill a year...3mill raise per season compared to what he signed last year. it is about right, when you think what is best from the 9ers perspective..they have colin who they believe in....if we still had david carr as the backup, the offer would be totally different. that all being said, horrible horrible deal for alex....his agent f'n suuuucks

How so? There is not a team in the NFL that would pay more than that for Alex Smith.

Is Seattle's FO just incompetent or what?.....what the hell are they doing up there??? :/

As a 9er fan I'm glad ass hell, but as a NFL follower...I can't help but sctrach my head.

Incompetent? Why because they aren't breaking the bank for an unproven 27 year old QB?

Considering what guys like Matt Flynn are about to make, what the 49ers are about to pay Alex Smith is an absolute steal.

Malarky for Barkley. Personally I don't see any other options for them. I see Flynn as another Kolb. Maybe if Manning signs in Tennessee they can bring back Hasselbeck.

I agree, they are in a pretty bad spot. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the position, even if they tank for Barkley

If Tebow does go to NE ... I think it's possible he could one day be the starter.

Working with Brady would help him greatly, and Tom won't be around forever (he'll be 35 when the season starts), so the Pats will need a successor QB eventually. Tebow gives them that, perhaps, with a few years for him to still get better.

The move makes too much sense. Belicheck has to be begging Elway to make the mistake of going for broke right here and now.

Just realized Ben is currently the only signed QB atm. We should probably re-sign sandwich and take a late round flyer on some youthy project

Meh. I like Tebow - on other teams. I'd rather see what Mallett and even Hoyer have to offer. I would also prefer the Pats taking care of the D instead of adding another (high profile) player to the only position where they should be set.
