The lions re-signed Andre Fluellen.

Also the Lions signed.......Jacob Lacey....I do not know how I fell about picking up former colts. I know that they need more cornerbacks from a sheer numbers perspective.

More excited for Atogwe's visit today!

I watched most Colts games over the past few years.

When he played, he was...let's just say "not good."

Atogwe is a must-sign, imo. The Lions desperately need help back there.

I am really hoping it was a depth/training camp battle signing. Really really really hoping.

Atogwe better sign tonight!

So the rumor is Peyton signed a one year deal. Wait. He did all that offseason shit for 1/18? Wow lol

adbrandt

Manning contract: 2012: 18M 2013-2014: 40M w/waiver on neck 2015: 19M 2016: 19M trying to find out more on waiver

Peyton will make $18M in 2012 without injury protection to Broncos. Passing March 2013 physical will activate $40M gtee w/a waiver

He has a physical due for March next year. He passes it, he gets 40 million guaranteed with a waiver for presumably a neck injury.

Fail. I follow a niners beat writer and this was what came to my twitter, totally wrong after I read the contract on this page lol: @MaioccoCSN: RT @adbrandt: Initial reaction to Peyton deal: could be 1 yr, $18M deal. He could have leveraged more guarantee, less risk and did not. Impressive.

I guess there was supposed to be a link there going more into deal about his final contract but I didn't get it

Im a Colts fan, and Im sorry that you now have Jacob Lacey playing CB. He is terrible, absolutely terrible. Over the years, he's reached and claimed his seat at the table of Colts CB's Ive hated with a fiery passion, which includes Jason David, TJ Rushing, and Tim Jennings. He's moderate against the run... for what thats worth.

Lacey actually had a really solid rookie year, but has dropped off ever since. Gives waaaay too much cushion, although that could have been our DC's fault.

I don't think Lacey is a BAD player, he just didn't pan out the way we thought. I think a lot of it was our DC/the system he was used in. See: Tim Jennings, oft-regarded as the worst CB on the Colts, who just renewed his contract with the Bears after two good seasons.

It's going to be framed as a 1 year deal pretty damn quickly though. Elway should have traded Tebow by now already.

I think this pretty much means Manning is as close to 100% as he can be. Or he is completely broken and is just trying to squeeze out a buck before everyone else finds out!

That was my complaint as well--WAY too much cushion.

That fits in perfectly with Gunther Cunningham's "Well, if the DL can't stop them nobody can" defense.

Here's the paragraph on Andrew Luck:

How do you replace one of the best to ever play the position? Draft the quarterback called a "Sure Thing" by almost everyone. Andrew Luck is allegedly the total package.

However, he's inheriting the reigns of the worst Indianapolis team since 1999. Thin at every position, with zero help at Tight End and Running Back, expect Indianapolis to be drafting in the Top 5 next year, too. A seven-win season in 2012 would be a triumph.

Just like Peyton Manning did when he was drafted by the Colts. They were AWFUL.

I'll never understand why some on this board call Luck "Ryan Leaf 2.0." Ryan Leaf was a nutcase. By all accounts, Luck isn't even close to that.

Joey Harrington 2.0!

No. No. No. No. No.

I'm still surprised he wasn't chosen for Dancing With the Stars. He had the happiest feet in the league.

Incoming blitz?

Dance around and then throw 100-mph fastball into the back of my running back!

Huh? He played in the best overall conference in college football last season.

Akili Smith 2.0

I'm still amazed that they managed to find someone worse than Klingler. But this I never knew:

Prior to the draft, there was an effort by New Orleans Saints' head coach Mike Ditka and management to get the Cincinnati Bengals' high draft position so the Saints could get Ricky Williams. The final offer, which was refused by Bengals management, was for nine draft picks, several extra in that year as well as many the next year. Instead of taking the trade, the Bengals stayed with their initial decision to draft Smith, who, while athletic, (he had also played two years of minor-league baseball and ran a 4.66 40-yard dash[2]) was still largely unproven, having only succeeded at the college level for one season.

what a cursed franchise.

I was pissed for months that the Eagles didnt take the Saints draft. It is funny the way things worked out. I remember so many experts saying that the Bengals were crazy to draft akili so high. I was at that draft and people were openly laughing when they made that pick.

Edit: It is funny that the Bengals were so wowed by a 4.66 40 time, Luck killed that this year.

Go on record, where do you think the Bears go?

pray tell who you would pick at 19 junior?

Coples at 19 would be the steal of the draft.

Well I should clear it up, the people drafting for their teams are retarded. I assumed Coples was taken so I called yaco stupid (he still is, even though he's a boiler but w/e).

What the fuck are people doing in this mock draft?

When i have time ill go see how badly last years draft was projected.
