I bought it online, when eBay was running their £5 off everything code, which made the price acceptable to me... although it was still about £5 more the US RRP

I wouldn't mind sponsors. But in fact I think the better thing is if they bring up articles and video features that are on the site, and I guess they kinda do that already.
The disconnect with 1up and their line-up of amazing podcasts is that they almost *never* mentioned articles on the site. And more than that, it was almost as if gamevideos.com was non-existent. If you didn't look hard, you wouldn't even know it existed and that it had original content. I think most people were only hooked on the podcasts and rarely hit the site which hurt 1up big time.
On another note, Jeff and Big Bo seem to have been split at birth

Ryan already does that quite a bit. He cuts the podcast when he thinks its too long and meandering even though most of us would love it unedited. And whenever they did have call-ins during Happy Hour, he'd be so quick to shut down any calls he didn't like.

Not entirely surprised, taking on 7 new people (by my count) is bound to create some redundancies.
"Patrick! Go...walk down the hall and ask somebody what's goin' on."
But Gamespot is supposed to be Gamespot and Giantbomb is supposed to be Giantbomb, I don't understand why one would necessarily affect jobs at the other. I thought the whole point of this was they wouldn't significantly affect each other.
