NFL Off-Season Thread: "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?"

And the evidence somehow got "lost" by "The League".

All this high and mighty bullshit goes out the window with me when the punishments are consistent.

No arguments there, the Pats/Bill caught a break, blatant cheating without suspensions.

Goodell is setting an example, he's pushing his agenda.

Canuck was upset that they lost picks and cash, when it was the baseline punishment. Suspension was the real head shot and he didn't take issue with that, which is strange.

W T F

Suspended the ENTIRE SEASON?

Has he finally lost his mind?

And what's with that ridiculous 500k fine? Isn't that like 5 bucks to an NFL team?

Reserve Giants lineman Dave Tollefson is making the rounds and getting interest.

Tollefson on Thursday will travel to Seattle to meet with the Seahawks and he also has attracted interest from the Raiders, Packers and Buccaneers.
Tolly had a good season. Great back up guy that may be a pretty decent player with more time on the line.

MLB Jon Goff has visited the Browns. He's coming off of an ACL and is likely looking for more money than the deal the Giants have on the table. He's expendable with the young talent the Giants have at the position.

The Colts drafting RGB3 instead of Luck will be funny.

Eh I think agents might be working behind the scenes here. Tebow might have a list of teams he wants to go to, and Sanchez might have had his agent lean on Jets.

It's like they're trying to look incompetent.

Belichick was fined half a million and the Pats lost a first rounder. Saints don't have a first this year so two seconds is kind of equivalent. Only difference is that Belichick was never suspended.

It's a punishment for the same reason. Neither team were punished more for their actual actions over the punishment for crossing Goodell. Makes me wonder why Vick got such a pass. Goodell's actions in both cases have made the media/viewer perspective worse on each team. By doing this he basically kills any chance the Saints could play host to their own Super Bowl. Imagine the discussion for those two long weeks.

Saints still have it worse. Basically it's Belichick's 500,000 vs. Payton's 8,000,000 and the loss of more draft picks. Also, Williams is basically banished from the entire league as well. UFL future.

Jacksonville has to get Tebow.

Yeah, trade any player that's not MJD. At this point Tebow isn't going to help you just win games, he's going to help you keep the team in Jacksonville. Florida's chosen son coming back to play in glorious Jacksonville will help fill seats and guarantee a P.R. disaster if the team moves to L.A.

Brandon Lloyd's contract:

jesus

:) Pretty good deal. Not good as like Pierre Garcon's but not bad. To bad they lost Law firm today. I'm still trying to figure out why the Bengals with all that money aren't going at Wallace who is on a division rival. Wallace AJ Green combo and a young Dalton. No brainer

Sadly they dont have a choice. Been listening to sports radio in Jax and ppl are willing to go to games if he is even on the sideline.

It's the Bengals..

I wish Elway would push for the Jacksonville deal having said he would act in the best interest of Tebow. It's probably stupid to think that and I get that Elway is a business man that now has to make business-minded decisions, but this is the right thing to do. DO IT ELWAY

mayock is full of shit sometimes. talking bout rg3 vs. luck:

"unlike the peyton vs. ryan leaf draft, i think you're safe with either of these guys". I'd like to see his "grades" from that year and what he had to say about ryan leaf because i guarantee you if he was doing this at the time he didn't say "oh peyton is great, stay away from ryan leaf!"

I will be rooting for Tebow too, but considering they only gave him 1.5 million last year and he got them a lot of money taking them to two playoff games, I hardly think Denver lost out financially.

It is so nice to know NY Jets finally has a winning starter.

I understand what you are saying, but if you look at it purely from the value of a first round 25th pick and a 7th round pick, to a 4th and 6th (bottom of these rounds from what I understand), Denver loses out. It's definitely a ditch the guy trade in terms of fair value.

why is that surprising? brandon lloyd is a worthless WR OUTSIDE of mcdaniels system. he would have gotten less from any other team in the league (niners were offering him less)
You'd think on another team he would get a more balanced salary that doesn't start at under 1 mil for base.

Granted he gets 1 mil more each year

-Peyton to the Broncos.
-Alex re-signs with the Niners.
-Tebow to the Jets, until they actually read the contract.
-Saints punishment includes loss of draft picks, Payton banned for a year.

Etc.
Broncos wow. They might be scary now.

Tebow to the Jets? What the fuck. Kate Upton that hot that one photo of her even wants to make Tebow move to be nearer to her.

And wow at the year ban. I guess lol Saints is worthy here.

It might not be going through, if you have not been able to pay attention. The Jets failed to read the contract and Elway is trying to get 6 million from them which was a part of the contract. Only time will tell, if you ask me the Jets should have to stick with it considering if the average man gets screwed by not reading a contract they have to live up to the deal, so should an organization. Still it looks like Denver will not get the money.
