Come on man. I'm a fellow Jets fan. We're supposed to be united.

I think I'm being rational on the Tebow trade. Every other Jets fan is losing their shit like we're threatening to replace Tom Brady or something actually good.

The jets united will never be divided

until the 1st game of the season

Wow... so Wednesday's a wrap, from the Saints getting Goodell'd to the whole Timmeh thing... and let us not forget ROUND FUCKING 1 of the NFL-GAF MOCK DRAFT, chaired by Deacon, Future and occassionally by Dutch who was like the kid in gym class hopping up and down with his legs crossed. Plus a bunch of other guys helping out.

Bring on Thursday!

Round 2!!!

And hopefully some seriously other awesome shit to talk (laugh) about! NFL-AGE FOREVER! (or until we're shut down for too much :jnc :snes :BL :jdez insular behavior).

I'm just posting this now in case I can't write it up in the morning

With the first pick of the 2nd Round, the Rams select Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech

In their quest to do nothing to help the offense in 2012, and able to get clear of Sam Bradford's giant rookie contract after the season, the Rams proceed with their own QB exit strategy. No player selected in the first two rounds will be less prepared to play his position in 2012 than Hill, but his potential is enormous. With a good coaching staff, he has the explosiveness, size and speed to be an elite WR in a couple of years. Much like the selection of Robert Quinn in Round #1 of 2011, Hill is a very raw player with a very high ceiling. Also like Quinn, he has a very low floor, and could flame out very quickly if he is unable to correct his issues with route running and drops, or transition from a college option offense to the rather elaborate digit system run by offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. Also like Quinn, maturity issues are a concern. All that said, I'd be super excited if he was available here

With the 32nd pick of the 2012 GAF Mock Draft, the NY Giants select OT Mike Adams - Some analysts have Adams ranked above Glenn and a majority felt that he fit the BPA tag and addressed a massive need with Kareem Mckenzie being shown the door. The Giants have OT James Brewer on the roster as well who's been developing for a season as well so Adams can add depth. Some of his weaknesses should be masked by moving him to the right side of the line and Pat Flaherty, the Giants offensive line coach can help coach him through the inconsistencies he's shown in his college career. Some "off the field" issues shouldn't be too much of a concern as the Giants have shown the ability to look past those in drafting guys like Marvin Austin. The fact that he's played the LT position also provides added depth for the Giants moving forward with a successful move to RT for him.
I support this pick. Thanks for contacting me BTW on my input.

We had a bit of an AIM chat earlier this evening as well but I didn't know your username! If you get a chance, PM it to me and we can do it again and get you in there for round 2. I tried to include everyone.:( (don't know if you were being facetious with that comment)

Sanchize is fucked, fans already calling for his head, they will be calling for Tebow before the season starts..

Too late.
Point guard Jeremy Lin called the Jets' decision to deal for Tebow 'awesome.'

"I’m just excited for him and to see what he does and see what happens next year ... I’m excited he’s going to be in New York," Lin said after the Knicks' 82-79 win over Philadelphia on Wednesday night.

So Lin was asked on Wednesday night if he had any advice for the Big Apple-bound quarterback.

"Everyone gave me some advice," Lin said with a smile. "They said make sure not to read the papers. But I don’t want to say that to offend you (reporters). That’s what I’ve been told so I don’t really read anything. And I think it helps me."

Linsanity on board for Tebowmania. Marky has no chance to not get run over by this freight train.

I actually DID contact you on AIM and you didn't answer! I also was in the GAF IRC and tried to talk to Striker (ActStriker?) and I guess he didn't say anything.

As long as a WR/TE wasn't drafted, I actually thought Adams might be gone. I love the OT pick, the only other possible thought I had was at LB but I don't see anyone who be around there that's worth it.

:lol that's not me.

I told Future I would have went with Stephen Hill, but I was down for a select number of guys. I'm still not sure on them picking OT, but whatever, it's just a mock. :P

I was probably on the iPad at the time and didn't see it. Sorry! Send me your screen name and I'll add you.

I argued for Chandler Jones (Giants have shown heavy interest) or an equivalent pass rusher/defensive lineman as a probable pick. Most everyone agreed on Adams though I have my doubts we'll go there either. I'd personally be happy with filling that need but we'll see how play it plays out draft day.

Shockey on Sapp's comments:
“Sapp can say what he wants about me, but if he really says that he’ll put his life on the line for his source, we’ll see. I’ve never been a guy who failed multiple drug tests. I’ve never been divorced. I don’t have four kids by four different women. I don’t lie. This attacks my character and it’s not fair.”

Shots fired.

Stop worrying about FMT's scat fetish. There's more important things to worry about, like Lofton getting his dumb ass agent back to Tampa

Was the league report about the bounties posted? Specifically the league findings?

The findings in the league's investigation, corroborated by multiple independent sources, conclusively established the following:

1. The Saints defensive team operated a pay-for-performance/bounty program, primarily funded by players, during the 2009, 2010, and 2011 seasons. Under that program, players regularly made cash "donations" to a pool, and were "fined" for mental errors, loafing, penalties, and the like. At least one assistant coach (defensive coordinator Gregg Williams) also occasionally contributed to the pool. There is no evidence that any club money was contributed to the program.

2. Payments were made for plays such as interceptions or fumble recoveries. All such payments are against league rules. Payments also were made for plays on which opposing players were injured. In addition, specific players were sometimes targeted. The investigation showed bounties being placed on four quarterbacks of opposing teams - Brett Favre, Cam Newton, Aaron Rodgers, and Kurt Warner. Multiple sources have confirmed that several players pledged funds toward bounties on specific opposing players, with defensive captain Jonathan Vilma offering $10,000 to any player who knocked Brett Favre out of the NFC Championship Game in 2010.

3. Coach Williams acknowledged that he designed and implemented the program with the assistance of certain defensive players. He said that he did so after being told by Saints Head Coach Sean Payton that his assignment was to make the defense "nasty." Coach Williams described his role as overseeing record keeping, defining payout amounts, deciding on who received payouts, and distributing envelopes with cash to players who "earned" rewards.

4. In each of the 2009-2011 seasons, the Saints were one of the top five teams in the league in roughing the passer penalties. In 2009 and 2011, the Saints were also in the top five teams in unnecessary roughness penalties; in 2010, the Saints ranked sixth in the category. In the January 16, 2010 divisional playoff game against the Arizona Cardinals, Saints defensive players were assessed $15,000 in fines for fouls committed against opposing players. The following week, in the NFC Championship Game against the Minnesota Vikings, Saints defensive players were assessed $30,000 in fines for four separate illegal hits, several of which were directed against quarterback Brett Favre.

5. Coach Williams now acknowledges that when he was first questioned about this matter in early 2010 he intentionally misled NFL investigators and made no effort to stop the program after he became aware of the league's investigation.

6. Coach Williams further confirmed that the program continued during the 2010 and 2011 seasons, and that he occasionally contributed funds to the pool in each of those seasons.

7. Assistant Head Coach/Defense Joe Vitt acknowledged that he was aware of the program in 2009-2011. He admitted that, when interviewed in 2010, he "fabricated the truth" to NFL investigators and denied that any pay-for-performance or bounty program existed at the Saints.

8. Coach Vitt said one of his primary roles was to monitor the activity of Coach Williams. This was based on the direction of Coach Payton, who apparently had less than full confidence in Coach Williams. Despite Coach Vitt's knowledge of the bounty program, his understanding of the terms "knock-out" and "cart-off," his witnessing Coach Williams handing out envelopes that he believed to contain cash, and his acknowledgement that the defensive meeting preceding the 2010 NFC Championship Game may have "got out of hand" with respect to Brett Favre, Coach Vitt claimed he never advised either Coach Payton or General Manager Mickey Loomis of the "pay-for-performance/bounty" program.

9. A summary prepared following a Saints preseason game included the statement, "1 Cart-off - Crank up the John Deer (sic) Tractor" in reference to a hit on an opposing player. Similar statements are reflected in prepared documents or slides in connection with other games in multiple seasons. A review of the game films confirms that opposing players were injured on the plays identified in the documents.

10. When interviewed in 2012, Sean Payton claimed to be entirely unaware of the program, a claim contradicted by others. Further, prior to the Saints' opening game in 2011, Coach Payton received an email from a close associate that stated in part, "PS Greg Williams put me down for $5000 on Rogers (sic)." When shown the email during the course of the investigation, Coach Payton stated that it referred to a "bounty" on Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

11. In early 2010, Mr. Loomis advised Coach Payton that the league office was investigating allegations concerning a bounty program. Coach Payton said that he met with his top two defensive assistants, Coach Williams and Coach Vitt, in advance of the interview with league investigators and told them, "Let's make sure our ducks are in a row." Remarkably, Coach Payton claimed that he never inquired of Coach Williams and Coach Vitt as to what happened in the interviews, never asked them if a "pay-for-performance" or bounty program was in fact in place, and never gave any instructions to discontinue such a program.

12. In January 2012, prior to the Saints' first playoff game of the 2011 season, Coach Payton was advised by Mr. Loomis that the league office had reopened the investigation. Coach Payton made a cursory inquiry but took no action to ensure that any bounty program was discontinued.

13. General Manager Mickey Loomis was not present at meetings of the Saints defense at which bounties were discussed and was not aware of bounties being placed on specific players. Mr. Loomis became aware of the allegations regarding a bounty program no later than February 2010 when he was notified of the investigation into the allegations during a meeting with NFL Executive Vice President-Football Operations Ray Anderson. He was directed to ensure that any such program ceased immediately. By his own admission, Mr. Loomis did not do enough to determine if a pay-for-performance/bounty program existed or to end any such program that did exist.

14. Saints owner Tom Benson notified Mr. Loomis in January 2012 prior to the team's participation in the playoffs that the league's investigation had been reopened. Mr. Benson reiterated his position that a bounty program was unacceptable and instructed Mr. Loomis to ensure that if a bounty program existed at the Saints it would stop immediately. By his own admission, Mr. Loomis responded to this direction by making only cursory inquiries of Coaches Payton and Williams. He never issued instructions to end the bounty program to either the coaching staff or the players.

15. There is no evidence that Saints ownership had any knowledge of the pay-for-performance or bounty program. There is no evidence that any club funds were used for the program. Ownership made clear that it disapproved of the program, gave prompt and clear direction that it stop, and gave full and immediate cooperation to league investigators.

I know Blackmon isn't a sure thing. Probably not worth the 6th pick, but I think we might as well get him? There will be a solid O linemen in the 2nd, I'm sure.

Why the hell did the Rams even throw their hat in the Tebow talks? So damn dumb. Also, we should have gone for a receiver in the FA. Why don't we ever make good moves (the trade was pretty good). Come on.

Sorry we can't make a huge splash like signing 43 year old Randy Moss.

i'll take moss for 1.5 mil over Drunky @ 55 million or whatever you paid him. here's a newsflash: you guys don't have phillip rivers. he won't be productive in tampa!

and the niners front office has already proven it knows how to handle its business in free agency. take a look at last years FA class if you need proof!

lol ESPN just showed the stats, Tebow and Sanchez both had the same amount of turnovers as TDs last year. What a great combo!

I have no idea what the fuck the Jets are doing. Sanchez' confidence was already shaky because of his terrible season, then you destroy it further by going after Peyton, proceed to give him extra money to build up his confidence, then smash it again by adding Tebow, who as terrible as he is in his own right, will have the fans and media clamoring for him to play every time Sanchize fucks up.

Also LMAO but did Jabari Greer subtly compare Payton being suspended to Katrina? He said something to the effect of "New Orleans has been though things like this and we survived!" Blame your "Leader" for being a dickbag douche.

The lack of care from Payton and Loomis when told that the league was investigation is either an indication that they didn't think it was a big deal or were just brazen idiots.

Saints fans should be pissed off at their FO and coaching staff for bringing this down on their team rather than on the league office.

The Vikings offensive line is actually going to be so much better next season. Kalil, Johnson, Sullivan, Schwartz, Loadholt. Upgraded at three positions. Sullivan/Loadholt haven't hit their ceilings and Sullivan's already gone from glaring weakness to top 5 center.

Aint that the truth. I really hope Spiel doesnt get gunshy on Kalil he will bring a ton to the team.

Totally agree about Sullivan as well. I dont know if he is top 5 as of right now but he is rapidly progressing.

Also LMAO but did Jabari Greer subtly compare Payton being suspended to Katrina? He said something to the effect of "New Orleans has been though things like this and we survived!" Blame your "Leader" for being a dickbag douche.

He sure did. And Saints fans wonder why we give their team shit about it.

Yeah, when I was watching this live I thought he was going to come out and actually say it, I couldn't believe what I was hearing, he was definitely implying it and was close but then he paused for a second and thought better of outright saying it. The interview was a joke though, he came off terrible, just basically pissed off, rambling, and incoherent.

Anyone saying the punishment is "too severe" should have their heads examined.

It just amazes me how stupidly blatant they were about it. I still laugh at the thought of them handing out envelopes of cash like they were kicking up to Tony Soprano. Most of these football guys really are in their own little world.

The Rams say they had minimal interest in Tebow, and were trying to see what the market would free up as far as backups once he got traded. And though I don't believe them, they have been desperately searching for a backup. They've had contact or visits with 5 guys and haven't landed a single one. So it's ever so slightly plausible that they aren't lying.

With FA, I said earlier it was a tactical error on Fisher's part. He clearly has final say, and put on the press for Finnegan, when he should have realized Finnegan would have waited, and pursued one of the WRs. Getting Meachem or Manningham was going to take overpaying, since the Rams suck, and no one wants to play there. That and Fisher getting blindsided by Williams are blemishes on his tenure.

As far as Blackmon, it wouldn't upset me if they took him, though I just don't think he'll ever be a true #1. Can you really draft a guy #6 overall if you don't think he'll be an elite player at his position? It's very much like the Chris Long pick where you draft a safe player at a need position, but with a limited ceiling.

I hope, but also think, the Browns take Tannehill. So the Rams should have a choice on Richardson or Blackmon. If they keep it, as much as I hate taking RBs first round, at least Richardson is supposed to be a special player. SJAX will still get his carries, but he's long since been a home run threat. And his current usefulness on 3rd down is limited.

If I had to wager on it, I think they trade down again. Tell me Cincy wouldn't be a lot more dangerous with Richardson at RB? Gresham, Richardson, and Green? That's fucking stacked

Only difference about Katrina and this is the refs won't bail them out anymore.
