I'm going to guess that there wasn't any giving involved, and the terms of who gets what was spelled out in whatever contracts the lawyers took so long figuring out.
 
Was bored and watching older Giant Bomb videos earlier today and I noticed something on the behind the scenes video for episode 50 of persona 4... At one point Ryan says that the 50th episode is 'a golden anniversary'. Persona 4: The Golden, anyone?

(Note: I know that it was most likely purely coincidental, but still pretty neat :))

Edit: Bah! Never realized that the 50th anniversary was called a golden anniversary. Fact checking ftl.

It was last summer. Basically Amazon's web stuff went down, taking down a bunch of sites in the process. GB put up some placeholder pages up, and we got content like Dave just taking phone calls for hours on end, the first Scrub League, a livestream of the guys MSTing a QL that they had shot a couple days before, etc.

It was basically all off-the-cuff and totally random stuff, and it was great.

Ooooh, god yes. I was thinking it had something to do with the Amazon website directly, I forgot about the server outage last year.
 
Using that random link has reminded me of the sheer volume of great content... like hey guys, remember Game Room? and Jeff's slow spiral of depression and madness? Remember when he had to sucker other giantbombers into it because Ryan refused to do it anymore?

The best one was probably when the office was empty because of bugs (?) but NOTHING WILL STOP THE GAME ROOM QL!
 
Giant Bomb will end in one final video where Vinny buys a hundred-million dollar NASA shuttle training center so he can play flight sims and Jeff buys a complete collection of every game ever made, plus a Chinese factory to produce endless cheap merchandise.
 
God, now I've got the urge to watch through all the Game Room QL's now.

The Game Room QL's were some of my favorite. I loved watching the slow decline of hope and Jeff's denial week after week. What make it even better was the lure of a single, great game that was pushed back again and again, never to be released but on the hard drive and ending with venetian blinds.

That's like Breaking Bad quality story there.

I think playing some really terrible XBLA indie games might be entertaining. Just pick some at random with out knowing what they are.

I know they played a slew of random indie games a long time ago and it was pretty funny. I forget if it was on a Happy Hour or what.
 
If anyone over there is reading this, then an official request for Mario Party TNT:

If possible, play by the "Wario Party" house rules, which means setting all the speed options to high and turning off all minigame explanations.

No, it was a QL. That QL is also the home of the great bit where Jeff is depressed on Christmas and wants to put his head in the burning fireplace.

Pretty sure those options aren't in Mario Party 9.
