Witcher 2 for Xbox 360 'Enhanced Edition', 4+ hours bonus content, out April 17th

Man, I'm really going to need to hurry up and get the Dark Edition from somewhere other than Amazon aren't I? Other places are supposedly selling out, and I swear it never actually went up there.
Pretty sure you're right, I've been waiting for it to show up on Amazon but I've never been able to order it. Will be on the lookout at other places, though I might just grab the regular edition. Even the $60 box comes with the soundtrack which is pretty cool.

Can't wait for this to come out. Absolutely loved this game on PC, waiting to do my second playthrough on the 360 version. CDProjekt Red is such a good dev imo.

Second part coming today.

Ouch, the Quen nerf is pretty brutal, that made a lot of the hard combat sequences bearable.

Not a lot of changes to the bosses either, which had some pretty serious issues and were probably the most difficult part of the game by a LONG shot for really obnoxious reasons. Strangely that was my biggest gripe with the game as a whole, but I appreciate the monumental amount of fixes being made.

Damn. they added new in game cinematics (like between chapters).

Will replay !

edit'

well loks like Chapter 3 will be a lot more awasome and longer.

I wonder how IGN,GT and other sites will score since they already dealt with most gripes TW2 had (short Chaper3 and lack of tutorial)

IGN:
+allmost all
-it's not mass efect

i really want to see some direct feed gameplay trailer to judge the framerate. the 360 version looks fantastic, but does it runs smooth? some guys that played it at an event said it runs super smooth, his colleague thought it ran like shit (both only played the 360 version at the same event).

This is also my main concern, I've been holding out on pre-ordering until we find out.

Dunno about separate, but gog.com included a high quality artbook for their version. (pc)

That's the version I bought and I have that artbook, even loaded it on my iPad and it's looks great but I would love to have a physical hard cover artbook. I would also like to support them a bit more.

I'm so glad they're nerfing Quen. My only hope is that the difficulty of the combat will not be reduced to go along with it, because Quen abuse was a lot of people's way to stop trying in combat.

Even when you reach the end part of a skill tree and you're near god mode, you still have to at least try in combat now. This is good news.

The biggest problem is a lot of early combat is relatively badly tuned. Once you're like halfway through the game it stops being an issue when you have enough skills and improvements since you can actually handle almost every combat situation thrown at you and most of the encounters stay relatively similar in difficulty.

As I played through the game, it felt like the difficulty went down, not up :/

I wonder how many people will stop playing at the first serious boss fight in Chapter 1. Or did they nerf him?

please don't name the boss, these patch notes had enough spoilers.

Has a demo been confirmed for the 360 version ?

nope

nope

Yeah, there's a LOAD of issues with that boss.

Oh, and it thankfully doesn't say that part 2 is the only limit on patch changes. They seem relatively disorganized. There's a chance there's some fixes for that one, otherwise uh... well. People gonna quit on that one.

It doesn't need nerfs so much as it needs a lot of design oriented changes. The power is fine but they way the fight is handled feels poor from an implementation standpoint. Overall it's probably the lowest point of the game.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but how will this work for those people who have never played the first part?

Can someone just jump right in? Why start with 2 anyways?

As for that fight...
If your talking about Letho, I played that fight after the big patch so I'm not sure how it was at launch but it was relatively simple, especially since you only take him to 50% health. Just keep your distance while he was using Quen, stay behind him when you strike with melee or use bombs.

Fuck man I really really REALLY want to play this yet my 360 is rather fucked and hardly reads discs. Sure it works with RB2 and Alan Wake if you try 10/20 times to open and close the drive to get the fucking piece of shit to read it but goddamn..

I REALLY want to play this lol. My pc sucks ass, it struggles with TW1 yet plays Portal 2 just fine?

first, there were some fixes to that fight in the first few patches.

Second, most people don't realize that you have to
to take out only half of his health
and just give up. I can't understand why they didn't
make progress as a full bar being not the full life
. It would end and story stuff would happen but at least players would see the real progress in the boss fight.

Also I predict most people won't tell the real difference between strong and fast attacks. Strong attacks are crucial in boss fights and some enemies. You can beat a golem for like half an hour with fast attacks but strong attacks will kill him in a few minutes.

you can jump right in, just read the wiki and read in-game notes about characters and story stuff.

Do I need to play the first before i dive into this? What will I be missing if I don't?

I have the first one PC but never got around to it.

I'm not talking about Letho, but Letho can chain cast Quen at random and be invulnerable for whole minutes.

The Kayran has probably a thousand problems going on and none of them have to do with power. I think my favorite thing is dead tentacles can still sweep you after they're dead, and they're invisible, and they sweep you into a pit that traps you and you constantly take damage so you often die instantly.

You can jump right into the second without much issue, there's some stuff that will completely fly over your head but the whole of the plot in 2 is self contained and comprehensible.

i forgot the exact words, but in that video one of the dudes says stuff was animated on the 'old red engine' so does that p much confirm they've made changes?

There a few things that the game expects you to know, but Geralt had amnesia at the beginning of the first game, so you are still told about things that one should remember.

This is some Futuremark level of visual fidelity, god damn.

I started working on OT for 360/enhanced version.

Ah, I claimed it in the OT thread awhile back. I'm probably like half done so I'll keep working on it but PM me if you have anything to add. If you really wanna do the whole thing it's not a big deal, just lemme know.

(edited post)

No it's not. Was always possible to reach that ship by using a rowboat (if I recall correctly).

You're right.

I've completed the game two times (only one time in this location thought).

Mind. Blown.

Well, missed a big location in the Chapter 1 when I was playing for the first time, so it's usual business for me.

no, do it then!

no, do it then!

Cool, and again just PM me if you have anything to add or wish to collaborate. Normally I wouldn't care much about this kind of thing but I'm off of work for the two weeks leading up to the EE and I'll need something to do with all that free time lol. Anyways, moving on...

Can't wait for this, I haven't gone past Flotsam in my Roach run so it'll be almost like a new game for me. 360 dudes are in for a treat.

I wonder if old saved games work with the new patch. I have reached Floatsam on my third walkthrough and I consider starting again from the beginning just to be sure that all new quests are there.

PC patch will come on the 17th too right?

yes

I'll buy it again for 360 most likely, my PC has some overheating issues so I can't replay it there unfortunately. Oh well, CDPR deserves the money Let's hope they've improved Chapter III in this version, at launch (don't know if they added some quests with later patches) it was pretty barren and felt rushed as hell.

Pretty sure you're right, I've been waiting for it to show up on Amazon but I've never been able to order it. Will be on the lookout at other places, though I might just grab the regular edition. Even the $60 box comes with the soundtrack which is pretty cool.

Yeah, and I went into Gamestop the other day to see if I could put a few down on the Dark Edition, but the store wasn't actually getting any. It's looking like it's going to be EXTREMELY limited. They did have the regular edition in the machines though, and were advertising it pretty heavily, which was surprising and pretty cool to see. I'm going to keep hunting for the DE for now, myself.

I preordered almost immediately after the Dark Edition was announced and then it disappeared a short time later on Amazon. Hasnt been back up since. Glad i was able to snag it.

Wait Really? people had trouble with that boss? it's so easy.
