I just got into an argument on FB about this.
luckily the friend deleted the picture cause the guy was stupid, claiming that the mainstream media was hiding the fact that trayvon had jewelry on him and a "burglary" tool.
Uh i hate when people do this comparing cases nonsense. Both cases are sad but lets be honest in this day and age unless your story grabs attention it won't get the press.
The Trayvon story could have been like that for those of us who been in this thread since the beginning it could have sunk with barely a murmur. It didn't take off until it's third week and even then it was only because people were so shocked that Zimmerman had not been arrested and the social networks pushed it on. The James Cooper and James Kouzaris murder is a horrific case and i've been following it as they were brits. And was glad to see justice done this week and that soulless psycho Shawn Tyson get sentenced.
But this Trayvon story has again shown the racial lines these cases always take on. I face-palmed reading some of the replies to that guys post. Especially Kirstens African American/Nigger point

Showing her true racist colours with that graph and then proceeds to say there is a difference between black people and niggers. Sigh.
Well the witnesses that are being interviewed on CNN are saying they saw zimmerman on top of Trayvon. I believe them more than I do Zimmermans constantly changing bullshit story.
It's that persecution complex.

I like how they ignore the jewelry he supposed stole didn't match what was stolen. And how a screwdriver is suddenly a burglary tool in the hands of a black guy.

Oh, if I had known that I wouldn't have posted the link to begin with. Thought it was public. Well he tagged me in there for a reason; to get my attention.Nope. Best I can do is send a message.
Yea, definitely.
That phrase "burglary tool" really irks the shit out of me.

I was hoping to post something and then get gaffers to post as well, so I wouldn't be arguing alone with these quacks, but I guess that's not happening.
I'm thinking of compiling gaf's comments and posting them there on the behalf of sane people, but ah well... not sure that'd be appropriate. I just would like to change the minds of these people.
PS. I'm curious now, what's the message you sent out?
Who would ever think there would come a day where i would agree with Piers Morgan... lol
And I'm a black guy
He was so condescending that I had to stop early.
+1 on Toure making an ass of himself.
It almost sounded to me that Toure was like an actor reading off of a script at the beginning with the inflections in his voice.
Watched 4:54 then turned it off. Toure was getting slaughtered and looked like a passion blinded fool.
this has probably been brought out but was he (Zimmerman) loading his gun?
Man, that Chris Rock bit is a huge double edge sword. It's a really funny bit, but also problematic when used in the wrong context by dumb ass people.
It's nothing new relating to TrayvonWheres this Chris Rock sketch you guys are talking about?
So you're just being annoying for the heck of it?I just check other people's claims that are often baseless, or directly contradict the evidence we have at this time.
Threads like this need someone playing that role, otherwise it just turns into a giant circle jerk of conspiratorial claims and opinions not backed up by reality.
I've said it many times already, I think Zimmerman should be charged with manslaughter. So if you want to peg me a defender, you'd be wrong. The dude should be arrested and sent to jail for a good while.
This link provides scans of the police officer's reports from the scene. I read them a couple days ago. Hopefully this will suffice as hard enough proof for you.

"While I was in such close contact with Zimmerman, I could observe his back appeared to be wet and was covered in grass, as if he had been laying on his back on the ground. Zimmerman was also bleeding from the nose and back of his head."
I'm not sure what you're asking?
Wow, thanks for the summery, I'm so gonna watch this. This is crazy, I initially thought it was strange that they could unarrest someone after seeing the video (as I thought he was never in handcuffs in the first place). And also thought it was strange he was released soon after in a case of murder, where I always thought there has be an investigation before that could happen. So I was just watching a segment on Politics Nation from yesterday and found out a few really interesting things.
Firstly, Zimmerman was under arrest as shown in the video. This is significant, because you can't arrest someone unless you have probable cause.
Secondly, under Florida law, it's IMPOSSIBLE to "unarrest" someone once they've been arrested. Once they've been arrested, they have to be booked, fingerprinted, and photographed. None of that happened in this case. He was simply unhandcuffed and allowed to just walk out. This even furthers the theory that his father somehow or another influenced his released.
Finally, you have to be formally charged within 175 days of an arrest under Florida law. As things stand now, over 30 days of the 175 have already been lost due to his initial arrest.
If you want to see the whole segment, it's here. Pretty mind-boggling stuff and definitely screams of coverup.
Based on the precedent of Justin Collison, who wasn't arrested the night he got into several fights (including cheapshotting a homeless guy trying to keep the peace), this is absolutely plausible.Secondly, under Florida law, it's IMPOSSIBLE to "unarrest" someone once they've been arrested. Just saw this on my FB. *sigh*
Unbelievable how some don't think it's a race issue, and are twisting the facts. Just woke up so I haven't had a chance to write something back, but for those interested in politely enlightening others, go for it.
PS. backstory; one guy tagged me because I was debating this issue with him, and he eventually just deleted all of his comments on my post as he realized he was flat out wrong. Asinine.

So many white people are claiming that George Zimmerman is not white, but hispanic.
His father is white. His mother is Peruvian.
The One Drop Rule is alive and well.
In this day and age.
Fuck.

Ignoring the comments, I thought that was a really well written piece by "Max".
You say "Unbelievable how some don't think it's a race issue"...can you show proof that it is?
Both sides of this are claiming they know 100% what happened, and it's ridiculous no matter which side you're on.
I've taken a very passive stance on this, I'm just watching from the sidelines and shaking my head at everybody.
Interesting. I think its pretty well known that kids of judges just get off in general. I had two friends whose dads were judges and one of them got pulled over all the time. As soon as the officer found out his dad was a district county judge they just let him off. It certainly seems like zimmerman's dad played a role in his release as well.So I was just watching a segment on Politics Nation from yesterday and found out a few really interesting things.

The very fact the Trayvon was profiled makes it a racial issue.
Trayvon was racially profiled. Zimmerman doesn't have to be a card-carrying member of the KKK to have this "be about race". It was inherent in his actions and attitude towards a young man that was doing absolutely nothing to warrant such scrutiny.Ignoring the comments, I thought that was a really well written piece by "Max".
