The place is full of firebenders. The Fire Nation probably developed some sort of heat resistant metal to prevent accidents or damage.

Btw it's fantastic to see that Metalbending has evolved; yet I do hope the Toph-tier type makes a return..

That shit was insane.
That didn't cook her alive?

I wonder if they hold pro-bending matches on full moons. Waterbenders get to be OP for one night.

Wouldn't really matter considering they're only allowed to shoot someone with 1 second of water. I guess if that 1 second is four times as powerful than usual that would be something.

Blood bend a little to make people slip up.

PROFIT.

Huh. I had no ideas the rules were laid out like that. They did think of everything!

Episode 1 and 2 on the 14th of April. Episode 3 on the 21st.

Wait, episodes 1 and 2 are premiering together? Awesome.

Actually, we don't know that for sure. We've only been assuming this so far since they showed it together as the season opening without a seperate opening for episode 2, just like it was with TLA.
If they do that again on TV and don't split it up, then yes, the third episode should air on the 21st.

Actually, we do.

BURBANK, Calif. – March 15, 2012 – The mythology of the beloved animated franchise from Avatar: The Last Airbender creators, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, continues with the Nickelodeon premiere of The Legend of Korra on Saturday, April 14, at 11:00 AM (ET/PT), with a one-hour television event featuring back-to-back episodes.

I literally just found that, so it's great that it's nice and confirmed for us. It's going to be tough waiting every week. If they show it every week. Didn't they air The Last Airbender a bit oddly in that regard?

The last season was a big, BIG mess in that regard, yes. Hopefully they learned from it.

I just found out that some fans apparantly upscaled TLA to 720p. It looses a bit of detail but really looks nice. Unfortunately I'm not sure if it's legal even if you own the DVDs. Makes me wish for a Blu-Ray Set we'll probably never get even more.

I was literally just looking at that. It's a shame how much quality is lost.

I actually don't think it's that bad. And it gives me hope that a future commercial release might be possible. If it's done right they might loose only a little detail?

Yeah, that TLA upscale is worthless. Smoother lines are no substitute for actual detail. I can withstand the pixels if it means seeing more brushstrokes on the backgrounds.

Welp, looks like Nicktoons Network just dropped a bomb on all the shipping fans with a rather spoilerish commercial. Not sure if I should be happy to have it all out of the way right now or not.

You shouldn't be.

Shippers will [unfortunately] ship, regardless of the waters.

Hell, it may just make them ship harder!

Got a link? Surely it's okay to post commercials.

I don't think anyone will care honestly. Do you really think Linorra shippers actually have hope that their pairing will "win" in the end? Of course not, that's why we ship it. We're hipster shipsters.

Only people who ship plausible pairings will care about who's canon and who's not.

Oh my god, so I was right about Aang and Korra all along!

Can you put the spoiler in some tags? I want to see.

Oh, nm. Links.

Eh, not really surprising. I think I said as much about 5 pages back. You can see Mako + Korra coming from a long way.

About Amon in the 2nd video
Looks like he can remove bending power.

It's amazing how horrible the voice over for that commercial is (only watched the second one, not interested in getting spoiled). Without the visuals, I would 100% stay away from this after hearing that.

Same thing happened with the original. I almost turned it off after the fart joke intro.

Hopefully it works better on kids.

The bigger spoiler is that perhaps someone was doing
energy bending in the second trailer. I think it was Amon.

I think he's right.

Looked just like energy bending. Also looked like he might be removing powers from a bender perhaps. Especially since they kind of made it a point to show Aang energybending in the preview as well. That could be coincidence but it put the idea into my head.

I mean,
I love a "steamy sex" pun as much as the next guy, I really hope they aren't just doing this to appease the bitter Zutara shippers. Those guys deserve no sympathy.
