No, the point is that 10 points of precision is silly. With a 5 point scale, each step up or down is a very significant distinction. With a 10 point scale(at least if it's used correctly), you are just getting to vague. What is the difference between a 9 and 10? Is there even a point to establishing the difference, since both are highly recommended the game be played?
Anything further than 5 stars just exists to serve the people who want scores to be used to say game X is better than Y because it got a 9.3 vs a 9.1. Which is basically what metacritic does.
Not that anyone who uses a 10 point scale actually uses a 10 point scale, as has been stated. It's just a 5 point scale that starts at 6.

Brad has a strong North Carolina accent. It's not a traditional southern drawl. Instantly recognizable to someone who's spent a lot of time in that area.

I can understand disliking their opinions and possibly some of their personalities. But having never met them in person, I could never go anywhere near hate, even if i wanted to (I like them all so I'm probably in the minority i suppose)

Because he was still an employee of Whiskey Media and worked on Screened. Rorie was not Giant Bomb as much as he was around.

This is what I really don't get, it was 50/50 and Alex was the one kept? I'm guessing Rorie wanted to leave.
Somehow early on they had Alex getting worked back into the Giant Bomb mix when the purchase was to finally take place. Alex knew well ahead of time he was going with them. Hopefully Rorie did too.
Now that you do mention it, that is odd. But that kind of stuff is bound to happen when big moves take place. Not every ending will be a happy one.
I think Alex was closer to the GB crew. I have a feeling that if Alex hadn't originally moved to the east coast, he would have been one of the original GB crew.

It's pretty simple, really. Alex was a part of Giantbomb before the whole thing, and Rorie wasn't. A fringe post about Dark Souls doesn't count.

When Alex moved to New York, he technically became Screened and Giant Bomb east coast editor (or something like that anyway).
I'd love to see the giant bomb guys pick him up. That Dark Souls piece he wrote is probably the best piece of written content on the site.

A hardcore Dark Souls fan definitely made up for all the other annoying aspects about him. He did a great QL of that game. One of my favourite, in fact.
It's just a shame that's a very small part of his personality!
