Game Informer Tease: "Screenshots ... are gorgeous. My jaw is still on the ground..."

People making fake magazine covers

. Actually I suppose it might've been fun for a little while for the creator, can't be too hard to make a fake magzine cover.
edit: oh wow they made fake pages too? lol. It obviously scanned from the fake printed from an inkjet printer, doesn't look anything like the quality of an actual magazine either.

I just got the last GI in the mail like last Friday, no way in hell this is already out there anyway.

Tbh, jaw dropping is a big word so it must really look good. But hey you never know what bullshit game magazines/publishers/developers etc spills out these days. xD

If it's indeed Halo 4 I wouldn't expect it to look *much* better than Reach technically speaking, but more in terms of tricks and art. Which is why I'm hyped. :D

OMG Conduit 3.

Halo 4 looks much better than Reach. In person, seeing the engine run and watching match replays, it looks like they've created a global illumination system to go with their 720p, and the level of detail on models and environments looks considerably improved.

I love being wrong :D Thanks!

Yeah, I wouldn't put much stock into the whole "jaw dropping" thing. This is marketing speak for "a high profile (i.e. backed by a large publisher) game is going to be featured in our next edition!"

Wow wow wow.

If they can keep the full halo feature set while also "making our jaws drop" then 343 will have cemented a place as technical wizards.

Great to hear. I could tell the game looked better, especially from a SP standpoint, but Im glad it is that obvious in person. I can't wait to see a proper showing of the game to see what they have planned.

What kind of global illumination system?
They have had a good baked GI on halo since halo3.

Is there AA and good environment shadows?

Who are you and how do you know?

Also, continue...

Good to hear. We've only seen the smallest glimpses (soon to change) so it's been hard to get a good feel for it. What we've seen looks quite promising, though.

I will back this up. I was honestly stunned at just how much better it looks in motion than Reach.

Hype train starting to roll off the station!

Words that left my mouth after our session: if you told me this was a next-gen Xbox game, I might believe you. It looks like a new engine for the first time since Halo 3.

I'm sure plenty of stuff in the game will be picked apart and derided as "last-gen." But it looked (and sounded - fuck, for reals, the sounds) amazing.

Dat hype.

Sotaro Tojima knows his stuff.

Can't wait!

Nintendo is going to have a hard time matching Halo 4 graphically with a launch title for the Wii-U. This E3 will be interesting,

I'm so jaded. All I thought when I saw the thread title was, "And in 5 years everyone will be laughing at how quaint it looks in retrospect."

It's actually the sound that I'm most interested in. The bits we've gotten from tests and the videos have been insane.

I will take your words and dial expectations back.

Yeah, I would be really surprised if it isn't Halo 4 at this rate, all signs point toward a reveal very soon.

Wow. =)

I have no idea if it's Halo 4 – I don't work for Game Informer. But it's certainly not a capcom title, the AC3 cover already happened, and there's already been a BioShock Infinite cover. And yeah. Halo 4 looked pretty goddamned amazing when I saw it at their spring showcase the week before GDC.

Very nice to hear!
And I agree, I can't think of anything else that could be the cover story other than Halo 4.

Any word on the framerate Arthur? We know it's 30 but I'm wondering if it seemed to be locked. Any hiccups?

Thanks again!

I don't think we were shown enough to properly judge that, but it never seemed to have a problem. I imagine they're sensitive to the issue.

Right, I certainly hope so. As good as Reach looks it has its fairshare of performance issues in multiplayer, sadly. Let's hope 343 won't make the same sacrifices that Bungie did.

Can't wait until we get a full gameplay video so I can pick it apart. Gonna be a lot of fun.

resident evil 6. capcom haven't released any in game screenshots and there's talk of the magazine having a feature on the game.

Great. I'll expect the opposite then.

Why we still getting hype by this magazines? Not enough disappointments? Last one was the xbox mag and ac3 before that the South Park game
