Dennis Haysbert - Jonas Blane (The Unit): Show might have had it's up's and downs but he was consistently bad-ass in it and felt like he had more fun than playing Palmer.

Gabriel Byrne - Tom Reagen (Millers Crossing): Beautifully understated performance in the Coen Bros best film (imho), can't go into details without spoiling the movie, but he owns every frame.

Yeah, thing is it was co-scripted by a former member of the US Delta, much of the writing (in the first 2 seasons) is very authentic and Haysbert nails the delivery, he also is the most threatening human being alive when he wants to be:
