Game Informer Tease: "Screenshots ... are gorgeous. My jaw is still on the ground..."

I don't really care for the franchise, but I'm glad Valve is taking their time with HL3. It's always nice to see a company really take some prestige in their valuable titles, so they have my blessings to sit on that shit forever. I hope I don't see Half Life 4 at least 9 years after 3 releases.

I will FLIP. MY. SHIT.
Just the day its announced in general. Doesn't matter how. I've just been waiting so long......so long, Valve......so long....

I've been thinking of how Valve will announce the game. In the past I've harped on a bit about how we'll see another ARG, but the ending of Episode Two doesn't exactly lend itself to this; mind you, I suppose it's possible to, say, expand upon the closing segment somewhat and turn it into an epilogue of sorts, vaguely setting the stage for the next instalment, with a teaser for Half-Life 3 playing when it comes to a close. (A crude idea, but I'm just spitballing.) Really, though, I think it's more likely that we'll see it announced at
this year's
E3, with GI getting the scoop the following month.

Edit: E3 is exactly two months away. That's crept up fast.

Not directly related, but there are a lot of God of War 4 rumors and speculation, and it's expected to be announced at E3 (or even in this magazine cover)

SCEA registered the trademark "From Ashes" back in February, and it sounds like something taken directly from a God of War game

I'm beyond the point of giving a shit anymore it's been that long.

HA. Gabe can see directly into your heart. Your simulated nonchalance just amuses him.

I know I will flip my shit when HL 3 is finally official. I really want a good shooter again that's not a rip off of COD.

Thank god for Halo 4.

SCEA made the Mass Effect 3 DLC confirmed?

Well at least we can gamble it isn't for current gen consoles since they have been pretty much maxed out, (yes I am saying it), we can only expect incremental gains and no huge leaps that make a jaw drop.

So that leaves three options: PC (possible), Next-gen (unlikely without an announcement) or bull shit. I go for bull shit.

Wildcard: The Witcher 2 EE for 360.

A good artstyle can still make your jaw drop.
Journey, Rayman,... as good examples.

Fairly sure people used the phrase "my jaw dropped" during the Halo 4 announcement though.

  11. January 2010: Dead Space 2
Gameinformer has a pretty good track record for reveals, judging by their reveals till now. There are some underdogs and there are ton of triple A blockbusters. The only real weird choices where Southpark RPG and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. Personal opinion: their lineup for 2010 was bonkers.

Like I pointed out earlier in the thread, Gameinformer talked to 343 Industries way before they where "revealed" to the public with the Vidoc. Even having some exclusive interviews with the staff, like Managing The Halo Franchise, The Past, Present, And Future Of Halo's 343 Industries and Inside The Development Of Halo 4.

Gameinformer not getting some exclusive reveal would not be suprising.

Going based off their history, I don't think it will be God of War 4 or HL3. If you remember, all those games listed here were officially announced or talked about before they had a reveal in GI.

Neither GOW4 or HL3 have been officially announced or talked about. I'm willing to bet it's Halo 4.

ACIII was not revealed before, so that puts a dent in your theory :P

I really lost hype for next Half Life, it doesn't really interest me. Yes, companies should take time with their games, Valve makes superb games and always gives people great value for their money and product, but 10 years of wait and still no Half Life 3 in sight is a bit too much.
