And jetpacks (Tribes), sprinting (CoD), and Armor Lock (lolwtf)? Should Halo not have adopted any of those as well?

You actually just compared the jetpacks in Tribes to the ones in Halo, seriously are you even thinking before you post.

There is no way a Halo game can graphically be in the same tier as Uncharted, Last of Us, GT5, God of War 3, and Killzone 2. Maybe it looks stunning for a Halo title, but that's not saying much.

Those games are essentially on rails compared to Halo titles in terms of scope / playable space.

So there's a reason for the graphical disparity.

A quick animation to look down your sights wouldn't impact any fluidity at all and it would increase accuracy. ADS for medium-long range enemies, spray/hip fire for close range enemies. Makes total sense to me.
Compared to what? The smartlinked scopes in Halo provide instant magnification while providing a crystal clear view of the battlefield.

Halo combat relies heavily on visual clarity and small, quick movements while firing. The smartlink scope on precision weapon caters to that without sacrificing movement speed or screen space.

ADS, in nearly every current iteration, slows the player down to a crawl, and blocks significant portions of the screen with either the gun model or a shitty depth of field effect.

This says it about as well as it can be said. Halo is unique for many reasons, among them fluidity of combat (both movement and aiming) and combat clarity. You cannnot make sacrifices in either department without harming the core of the game greatly. (Reach did this to player movement, to its detriment.)

You should! I still want to. Kind of. I'll try to hide from campaign info, but I'll read multiplayer stuff. Though something is mind to get spoiler for me.

Has anyone noticed this? Its hard to make out what the image is coz its so small but its Halo 4 concept art.

Clicking on the image would lead you to GI's Halo 4 hub. Similar to what they did with Reach. Theres nothing special on there but a cool high res image o the Chief in-game model on the right.

Honestly, I agree with you. We are still in the same generation with the same limitations. I think it can look phenomenal but i don't see how it can visually look better than a game with obsolete AI and a narrow path/small scale environments when compared to halo.

Halo has way more to handle with 4 player co-op, amazing AI, Vehicles, large maps than a game like Uncharted or God of War which is essentially narrow pathed, corridor maneuvering games with no co-op in the campaign, no vehicles, mediocre AI etc..

EDIT: By mediocre AI im talking about Uncharted, i dont thinkg God of War's AI is anything more than seek and destroy with various skins lol

I just think it's natural for ADS to be in a FPS but clearly it's sacred ground in here.

C'mon, I wouldn't go that far. Those game look great. Anyway, don't own a 360 anymore but I'd love to see how Halo 4 turns out. Last Halo game I played was Halo 3 and thought it was a fitting ending.

I also feel it would probably be best to not mess too much with the tried and true formula of Halo's gameplay. Not being able to go ADS is fine. The franchise has never been one to include that mechanic so it's fine. That would be like adding ADS to Half Life games, it would change the basic gameplay too much.

Many people have come up using ADS in FPS games, so much so that sometimes in killcams in COD I've seen people go ADS even when a person is about 1-2 feet in front of them. No need to when you can shoot from the hip as in games like Half Life and Halo.

ADS has its place among FPS games, but maybe Halo doesn't necessarily need it.

Can't wait to buy this issue. I know it will be a classic.
 
People need to calm down. Halo has never been known for being a graphical powerhouse but that doesn't take away from what it does right and why millions of people enjoy the games
