Fortunately I was being sarcastic. Unfortunately that is the reasoning of many people, it would seem.
Indeed.

I just think it's natural for ADS to be in a FPS but clearly it's sacred ground in here.
People need to calm down. Halo has never been known for being a graphical powerhouse but that doesn't take away from what it does right and why millions of people enjoy the games
New halo game ---> journalists say it looks amazing ---> game releases and looks average at best.
Anyone saying that this generation has peaked. Specifically those naming names for why Halo 4 could never be jaw dropping, as if one thing is objectively better than another to everyone.who?
Because this topic isn't just about Halo, but rather is about a (yet another) hyped Game Informer cover and people's reaction toward it.
So yeah, what a (yet another) boring reveal. It's one of the few series out there where I feel completely saturated by the offerings.

Incidentally, Red Dead Redemption is the most jaw dropping game I've played this generation.
Gaming side Halo threads are such a fucking joke anymore. Why even bother posting them? The only things people ever come in here to say are, "milked, meh, halo is dum, halo's visuals suck, kinect sucks, M$, milked, milked, and the not so often- Halo's pretty cool; looking forward to it!"
Oh well, I'm personally looking forward to 343's Halo 4. The winds of change are moving through!
I know how to settle this ADS issue.
Include a separate control scheme that lets people aim down sights of weapons, whether they have scopes, irons, or not.
Just like in every game with ADS your aiming and movement would slow down once in ADS. If you're holding an assault rifle you're going to be staring right at a huge LED ammo display in your screen. Hey, you wanted ADS in Halo, deal with it.
Bunch of alien guns don't come with iron sights? Deal with it, aim awkwardly the best you can. Don't worry, your movement will slow down and your aim sensitivity will be hella slow.
Then we'll see how the ADS players fare against the normal players. If they want to feel hindered for the sake of a modern trend in shooters and realism, so be it.
I was asking who specifically, that mindet that you laid out, didn't see that often.Anyone saying that this generation has peaked. Specifically those naming names for why Halo 4 could never be jaw dropping, as if one thing is objectively better than another to everyone.
Incidentally, Red Dead Redemption is the most jaw dropping game I've played this generation. If it was revealed today, it would make my jaw drop despite the claims that nothing can top Uncharted/Gears/GoW/Killzone because I'd take scale, setting and style into consideration (and dat sunset)
True. The persecution complex some Halo fans have is absolutely sad. Every major franchise gets shit on by a certain subsection of the population. Besides, nothing in here is even close to the vitrol that is being aimed at Mass Effect at the moment.

His point is that there's not much point in going into a thread about a game you don't like just to bash it. I'm an outspoken critic of Call of Duty, but I don't venture into CoD threads and poke fun at the game and harass its fans. I'm ok if someone doesn't like the same things I do, but I can't help but feel a little upset when someone actively goes out of their way to belittle something I enjoy.

I personally think we can still be blown away no problem.True.

I feel this problem lies with the person, don't get hyped up and you won't be disappointed. But to be petty that it isn't what you expected is just wrong. There's a line between trolling and simply expressing displeasure. Some are in here upset that it's "only" Halo 4, for a multitude of reasons. And there are some that are trolling the game. But seeing posts constantly about how GAF hates Halo is even worse than the trolling. Most here have said their peace and have left. I don't think there's anything wrong with coming into a thread about a hyped GameInformer reveal and being disappointed that it's a game someone was already expecting. It happened with the Assassin's Creed III reveal, it happened with that god awful South Park RPG and it'll happen with the next unveiling. Halo is no different than any other franchise, except that often its fans are simply more vocal than others.

I did read the thread, personally, I think it's bullshit that many people feel that way it's just the way people try to paint others who aren't happy it was halo.I'm not going to go through and give you a list of names. I've told you what kind of people I'm talking about, if you want to know who then read the thread and note the people saying things along those lines.

If people are disappointed about the cover story and want to discuss that, no problem. My issue is pretty much the same as many others, in that many people just want to hate on a game without even giving reasons. I will admit that this applies to a relatively small group of people, it's just that the act of entering a thread featuring Halo just to post "Halo is terrible!" makes no sense to me.
And I agree, that ME3 hatred is the most intense I've ever seen over a game. One of my friends is a diehard fan of the series, and even he's pissed about the ending, lol.
I really don't mind those kinds of people to be honest, most who where dissatisfied stated it and moved on. My problem lies with more the people that came in because it was Halo related, that had nothing to do with the hype thread but more the franchise as a whole. Those comments where either not well laid out or just baiting. I hate stuff like that in every thread.Oh I agree. The monthly GameInformer hype cycle is humorous and rarely delivers on what people want/expect. They have themselves to blame, yes. But there's still nothing wrong with expressing displeasure of it. Then there's those that don't get hyped, and are simply shaking their heads each month at the baits and teases -- teasers of announcements of announcements. People have as much right to come into a thread and say GameInformer baited them with hype as much as someone has to come in and spaz about how great of a reveal it is.
When does it hit stands? When should we expect info?
Anyone in this and the other Game Informer reveal thread stating that Halo 4 can't be jaw dropping/very impressive because Uncharted/Killzone/Gears/GoW exist and that the 360 has peaked are implying that it doesn't and can't get better this generation. That is the entire crux of their argument, how is it bullshit?I did read the thread, personally, I think it's bullshit that many people feel that way it's just the way people try to paint others who aren't happy it was halo.
Can we see a progression of Cortana's design over the years? They seem to make her more and more naked.

nevermind wrong thread
hahahahaha
Bahhahahahahhaha.... wrong place bro.nevermind wrong thread
Why not ignore or simply not acknowledge said comments? or better yet, create a community thread so you and all your halo brethren can rejoice and marvel at said unveiling, and post nothing but good and positive things to say and maybe perhaps you can sit in a large circle and see where it goes from there.
As far as covers go, I've seen MUCH better. It doesn't hype, thrill, or even generate intrigue. I've seen compositions like this often and it works on a level, but as far as first impressions it's lack luster.
343 is going to make the haters' life a living hell come E3.
The game names that pop up time and time again do imply that a generation peaks only when the best visuals are accomplished via scripted/linear games because those are the only ones that can get away with extra visual flair without effecting gameplay because the action is tighter and more predictable. Plus, as I said earlier, visuals are altogether subjective anyway, as I argued by stating that RDR trumps the aforementioned examples in my opinion.
Cortana looks good and all but I hope they're not leading it up to a Master Chief and Cortana romance.
