And then he kicked the raptors ass because you're reading the book.

Ok I have initiated stage one of my plan to spend as little as possible to get all the avengers. Today I ordered a big hulk, black widow and thor minifigs.

Then when the s@h deal for the little mini hulk is on I will order the captain America, wolverine chopper and loki cosmic cube
escape sets.

Only problem is if the ocd collector in me demands I need the different iron man suit.

Buying those 3 minifigs separately saves me buying the two biggest sets that I didn't like the look of apart from the minifigs and in monetary terms saves me at least $100 in sets and postage.

Waiting for the time lapse video to export on my phone. Later in the build it ran out of memory and I had no idea until I went to check. So I lost a bit of time in the build, and there was no way I was going to disassemble just to get the steps back.

Will upload soon.

Alright. It took days to get this sucker together, but here is me putting together Fire Brigade and Town Hall simultaneously.

The build quality was not as good this time. I feel the top floors did not come together as well as they did the first time, but that is probably due to me building them on top of the previous floor instead of separate like usual. It certainly added an extra layer of challenge to the build, especially the times the walls were touching.

You realize the next logical step is to do the same thing but with all the modulars at once.

Well an in between step could be the mini modulars.

You may need to bookmark the pages so you can easily jump to each step.

My friend was like, psh, I don't like LEGOs, so I started the Fire Brigade by myself (foreveralone.jpg). It took about an hour to take everything out, just build the firetruck and put down the numbered section on the baseplates, a bit longer than I expected I guess. I'm taking some pictures as I go along.

Awesome. I'm not a huge fan of these new sets, so this is how I'd do it if I were a minifig guy. :)

Your missing a soundtrack. Use this!

Nobody light a match! Lol

You claimed you liked the Pet Shop modular more than the Fire Brigade correct? Care to explain? I keep going back and forth on the two, I like the Pet Shop exterior a lot and think it would match my GE. I was thinking of the Fire Brigade too but I keep coming to the conclusion that the only reason I am interested in it is that it will be going OOP soon and that is not a good enough reason IMO to drop all the money on it.

My preference for the Pet Shop is that you are getting two distinct modular sets in one box. Yes, the interior is lacking in the town home, but that can be corrected. The pet shop interior is great, and I can split the buildings to fit my modular row wherever I want.

That said, the fire brigade second floor is great, but I'm neutral on the garage/truck.

Thanks, still going back and forth but I wouldn't mind keeping the theme of only shops and maybe the town hall as well.

Fire brigade and town hall are a little similar in appearance too.

TBH,you can get bogged down in 'which set is going oop' - if the fire brigade doesn't get your juices flowing, don't buy it. Simple.

I quite liked the fire brigade build but it wasnt spectacular. Some cute features on the second floor (I loved the brick texturing for instance). Looking forward to the pet shop more though

Exactly where I keep ending when I think about this. Just because it is going OOP doesn't mean I have to buy it. Lego is already hurting my wallet but if I pick up that line of thinking I will go flat broke.

Not sure if I ever updated GAF, but I got my $400 back from PayPal/eBay no problem.

This is referring to that Chinese UCS Millennium Falcon scam from a few weeks ago.

Ooh I hoped to learn how it turned out for you in the end. Awesome!

Did you ever hear from that chinese guy again though?

So I'm thinking of bricklinking for the first time, and I've chosen that great Batman Tumbler from one of our fellow Gaffers: Batman Tumbler.

Now I'm quite inexperienced in this, so I'm a bit confused. I used brickstore to import the parts list, and then generated the xml file to upload to bricklink. What I'm not seeing now is how much I need of each brick, in other words the quantify of the orders. Is this something you have to add manually or am I overlooking something?

Some of my Lego sets. Just not many places to store them. The wife wants to put together the Hoth set,but I don't know where it would go.
She put together the Easter set.

Here's my first attempt at micro scale building. It's a reworked mini lighthouse official set. I added lots more detail to the island, and also a real working, slowly pulsating light on the top. This light is courtesy of lifelites.com that sell 2x4 size Lego bricks equipped with electronics that power up to four LEDs in various lighting sequences.

Not everything is rosy on the little lighthouse island, so here's a photo-op that shows what transpired:

Hahahaha awesome!

Just returned from the Lego store to fill up a PAB cup. Today and tomorrow, Lego is having a sale where the large cup is only $7.99.

back from holiday in the UK

was on various boot sales but found hardly any LEGO.
twice I found a box of old grotty LEGO and one stand had a few unopened little bagged sets of LEGO 3 for a fiver.
got 2 x 30053-1 - Republic Attack Cruiser - Mini and one 30055-1 - Vulture Droid - Mini
should have gotten more but I only realized that later :p

in store I also found the 6743-1 - Street Speeder which I had been looking for anyway
and when we where in Brighton I went to the LEGO store and was surprised to see that the modular fire brigade is a good 25€ cheaper than in Germany, so I up a second one of those too to sale next year or so ^^

will post pics later :)

I went by my local Wal-Mart for the Marvel sets with no leg. Ended up getting a couple of the mini-scale tie-fighters and finishing off my minifig series 5 collection.

Is the Hoth base that's exclusive to TRU and the online store rare/going OOP soon?

I didn't actually realise series 7 was out already! So when I saw the stand today I enlisted 2 mates who spent 10 minutes (with a lot of sighing and eye-rolling) helping me find this guy! First minifigure, now I want more, there's a few from series 6 I want but the shop I would get them from in Newcastle doesn't have 6, only 4 and 5 for some reason. The tip for this was I told my mates to feel for the cup, as soon as one of us felt that we knew we'd found it.

Apologies for the shitty camera quality:
