Dota 2 Beta Thread: [Brewmaster]

What we need is reverse draft with reverse captain.

He's made of glass and has no true disables (just a ministun). Very narrow focus, and what you'd want in a reverse draft game for your own team would be good generalist heroes.

True but if you give Zeus then your opponents just seem to pick really squishy heroes for you to get bursted down. Not sure what else I'd give up though.

It's not all that terrible when you get dealt a Silencer, assuming he gets to level 6 and gets enough levels into Last Word (for dat 3 second reactive silence).

That's true, a leveled Silencer would also cut back on his percentage based damage late game as well. Though, with these line-ups, it would be hard running the Silencer as anything but support.

I need some VoD's or tips/item recommendations for shadow demon. I think this character is trash in pub play but apparently he's banned in every tournament (not sure if this holds true for dota 2).

I have never seen a successful shadow demon in mm.

You haven't watched my SD then.

if we do IH tonight I'll take notes :3.

He's seriously my worst hero. I think I do bad with him because he's so fragile and he needs good positioning.
SD is (according to Steam), my best hero. And I think because of those same reasons.

Really complicated hero with lots of spells and positioning? Npnp.

Mindless auto attacking 2 passive hero? Fffffffff, how do I play this shit!?

Mine is a little above 3 bars right now. I think before the patch it was like 4 bars.

I think everyone overall just sucks with him.

Are you trying to do solo mid Shadow Demon or support dual lane SD?

Fun Fact: If you have enough Blood Stone Charges, you will respawn on the spot when you die, and not go back to the fountain. The judges haven't gotten back yet about if this is a bug or intended, but it supposedly works the same way in Dota 1.

That should be intended, you need an ungodly amount of charges and/or a super early bloodstone for that to happen really.

Veng in pubs is fun. Other team is generally clueless how good Veng aura is for team fights in late game. Not to mention, they are always surprised to be swapped.

This sounds kinda silly, but I always find him a weird hero. I just don't really understand him. how should he be played for best effect? I'm guessing the choice is support or mid?
Also I find his poison skill really very weak, even when you get 3-4 charges on it, it seems to do pretty mediocre damage. Does it combo well with his other skills at all?

What do competetive players see in him thats so good.
Anyone got a good guide or something. He's the only hero I just dont 'get'. I'd love a run down on how hes played.

A lot of his potential comes from his amp damage (W)

I can get an easy mid kill on my own if I can hit Q, W, then ult them. Ganking on him is really great too. He can banish, amp and slow. It's easy to get an early lead with him and many heroes mesh well with his spells.

That kids been crying in the channel quite often, time to spec his game and see some huge plays.

Here we go.

I hope you guys screencapped the rest of my rant. Here is what HoN GAF will post in the next 2 pages:

LOL BAD K/D

LOL FEEDER

LOL SALT

LOLOLOLOLOL

No one on Navi ever had a bad game. In their life.

No one on Mouz ever died ONCE in a game. Because only pros like the people who take the time to screencap my rant in the channel and post it on GAF are qualified to criticize the play of others. Oh, you didn't play in the NBA? Sorry, you can't critique someone for having 0 points and 21 turnovers.

Cmon guys, can we at least TRY and be a little better than the pubbies? Just a smidge?

This type of shit is hurting this game, and once it goes live, will prevent 99% of newcomers from getting into the game. Anything that isn't nutriding instantly falls under the category of salt and is ridiculed to no end. It's childish and not constructive in the slightest.

Edit: Of course, we could actually not form arguments off of a screencap of 7ish lines of text, and actually listen to what people have to say, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
