Maybe Amazon will price match?

Though, I guess it would still have tax

Yep, $117 delivered for CA folks. Still a good deal. Doubt we will find it cheaper. Thinking about buying...just gotta muster up the courage since it is fugly.

I don't have a complete Mad Catz collection anyways :-( Stopped going for 100% when they dropped the impossible-to-get EVO Gold. The MLG stick is a tough buy as well.

EDIT: and the Brawl Stick, too. Hard to get excited for that one.

Hey guys. Any suggestions on good third party forwarding sites to use to order items from Yahoo! Japan Auctions?

Rinkya seems to be popular:

http://www.rinkya.com/

You have to first set up and account, then register it, then link a card with a deposit for a bidding level so it takes a few days to establish.

Never ordered but did set up an account. The search engine can be a little funky but it works with some effort. Example: Hori sticks are listed under Hori Arcade Controllers

Just picked up a hrap v3 sa the other day after deciding between a couple of sticks.

I'll be primarily playing Blazblue csex with it. Is there any mods I should think about doing to it? (changing stick/tightening stick) or is everything stock just great?

Also, if I do want the stick to be tighter is there a way to just tighten the springs instead of buying a new stick?

Thanks

Just in case you missed it...

It's a great stick. You'll love it. I got one more mod to make to mine before I'm finished. As far as I know you can't tighten the Sanwa springs. I think you can replace a spring (?), but you might have to replace the whole stick. The stick shouldn't be an issue (unless you're adamant about changing it), I play Blazblue with my V3 SA, and it works and feels great.

Awesome!

Definitely not adamant about changing it, just something I read from another thread, so I was throwing it out there to see others opinions on it.
Sounds great, thanks.
Also, I PM'd you.

any tips for getting better with a square-gate arcade stick? I think my biggest problem is calming down during a UMVC3 combo, but I notice in practice mode that my inputs are all over the place, though the moves still come out. Maybe there's a definitive guide on this sort of thing?

pad isn't an option, kills my hands. i have a feeling the answer is more practice, but i thought I'd check to see if there are some helpful tips to keep in mind.

I wonder if they'll use the SCV case again, it's probably the closest they've done to the VSHG and they've only made one version of it so far.

edit: oh wait is the gundam stick the same case? lol

Ha! Gonna say that the Gundam is, like, on this page.

In any case, it is a V3 SA and was revealed a month or two ago in Japan:

And,

Finally ordered a MC Soul Stick. Thanks for discounting it MarkMan!

question. My 360 & PS3 are in a room with a Samsung LCD. There is a Plasma in an adjacent room that is hooked up to the same systems via a HDMI switch box & 45' 22AWG HDMI cable. I 'm looking for an pratical solution to use my sticks in the room with the plasma. CAT6 USB extenders seems like the best bet, but I can't help but wonder about lag, compatiblity and cost. Any opinions?

I need to stop fuckin with this now. This is like the 3rd time I've modded this stick - which is fine, because it's fun!

I would have put all black buttons in, but I didn't have any on hand, so I just used the orange tops. I used some acrylic spray paint on the bottom of the plexiglas. Pretty happy with the way it turned out, so I guess all that's left is to use it more!

Damn, my TE is old as fuck. Replaced the buttons and switched out the balltop. When I was putting the screws back one of them completely stripped as I was getting it in. Now it's stuck =/

What do I do? I was thinking about putting a black plexi in soon

^^^

That looks sick Extollere. Kind of what I was planning.

Didn't think the Smoke buttons would have suck a dull shade of grey in the middle. Might have to do something about that

What do I do?

Do you mean that the head of the screw got stripped, so now the screwdriver slips off the screw, or that the plastic which the screw bites into got stripped, so now the screw just spins around in it's hole, but somehow it refuses to come out and it's still managing to hold your stick together?

If the screw head is stripped, then the screwdriver needs more grip on the screw somehow. I would suggest trying to glue a screwdriver to the screw, and then being really careful when you try and twist the screw out. If you get 1/4 turn and the glue breaks, that's progress, so be patient and glue it again. In the future, try to never let the screwdriver slip, because that kills screws and screwdrivers and it's mostly avoidable.

If it's the plastic that got stripped, try to find a weak point where you can pry something open just a little bit and wedge something thin like a pocket knife or something into the crack, so that it provides some lifting force on the screw. Then grab your screwdriver and try giving the screw a twist, and it might come out now that it's being "encouraged" to do so. If you get the screw out, you might want to consider using a toothpick to push a little bit of epoxy glue (or any kind of glue that's strong without being brittle) down the stripped hole, which might help strengthen it some, but it'll never be good as new.

Top right screws hexagon is now a circle. Unless I can find a circular screwdriver it's not coming out

I'll try using some glue to get it out then I'll replace them all. I didn't really use much force either, the head was just really soft.

Sooo, thanks to the swell advice on this thread, I finally made my first custom fightstick! (Seimitsu parts and a former Brawlstick as the base).

Shame the joystick was busted when I received it today, it only registers DOWN inputs. Time to request an exchange...

This is a silly question, but did you try turning the plastic connector that goes into your Seimitsu stick the other way?
