TV Tuner size more or less, isn't it?

torne was pretty successful so yes

I could see some third party selling a TV tuner attachment for that screen. Very appealing for houses with only one TV. Or for those who would want to bring the TV with them into the kitchen, the deck, etc.

Reading this article on IGN about what could be in an F-Zero Wii U got me thinking about the play coins.

While the article mentions that maybe winning races might earn you Play Coins to unlock content because you can't carry your tablet controller around with you like the 3DS, I immediately wondered if maybe Nintendo would look at allowing Play Coins on the 3DS to sync to the Wii U. You get home and your coins are automatically transferred (Option of course) or you fire up the Play Coin area of the Wii U and can transfer them from the 3DS.

This would give even more reason to carry your 3DS with you.

Could be cool. I just want more games to take advantage of the coins first.

their version of achievements/trophies are called Trophievements.

Could someone explain the difference between Yamauchi Nintendo and Iwata Nintendo? Yes I know the Wii/DS were obviously the turning point of the company, but I'd like to know in more depth how they were distinct in how the business was operated.

Yamauchi was like pre WW2 US.
Closed off, hated everyone, wanted to be completely independent, pissed people off.
Iwata is more like post WW2 US.
More open, tries to help out, even if it means disaster for them.

Sigh nothing new... is the third thread still alive?
nothing new, this thread dissapoint me u__u

You know, when you guys ask if anything new has been announced/found, it'd be really helpful if you could provide a time frame. Anyway…

Two words.. stock holders.

I'm still iffy on what power other stock holders have when the majority of the stock is apparently held by current employees and the Yamauchi family.

So Super Mario Bros. will be public domain by year 2061. Interesting.

Unless they disney the law, which is probable.

Another nice find by Rosti.

It looks like they're pushing asymmetric local a lot. This is interesting, but we're exploring one of the areas where I want at least some strong element of "more of the same".

Also, my friends are very resistant to change. I need Nintendo to make truly wireless Classic Controllers for them to play with.

You would think they could just disable the screen or at least have a random static image or something for the controller and allow four to be used in that manner.

So, for the first one, basically it could be used for an interactive TV show? Doesn't Conan do this with the iPad?

"Fans at home! Now is the time to vote! If you like "______" call 1-XXX, send a text to XXXXX, or vote from you Wii U controller now!

I can see it now.

much like your comments

That's not nice. Tuna has been posting and discussing since the first thread.

I'm a stock holder and I went to Tokyo to ask Iwata directly to hand over Wii U info to prove that it's going to make the $50 in gains I'm expecting. He kicked me in the nuts and put my head down the toilet. I came out with the understanding that I have less power than the tea lady.

I"m so desperate I'm trying to read hidden information into that post.

Hah, my friends will not want to play on a device that's not explicitly shaped like a sixth-gen controller at all. That, and three Classic Controller Ultimates would probably cost like $150 less than three Display Remote Controllers.

2) it'll be the perfect contrast to a launch year E3, which will be the complete opposite

Radio my man, you forgot something.

Good points, haha.

Would be interesting to see what the dates are for different parts of the world. SMB being public domain in one part but still illegal to download in another.

I'd like them to use a heavier plastic with a matte surface if they end up making another Classic. Other than that they can make it any shape they want.

If Iwata did that, I'd hate to know what Yamauchi would have done to you.

As for patents related to Wii U, here's the most recent I believe: http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph...s1=Nintendo.AS.&OS=AN/Nintendo&RS=AN/Nintendo

other nugget from the patent?...

Note however that the touch panel is not limited to those of the resistive type, but may be a touch panel of any type including, for example, a capacitive type, etc. The touch panel 52 may be of a single-touch type or a multi-touch type.

Maybe I am wrong but I thought the Wii U touchscreen was only resistive.... perhaps it was updated?
