People under a certain age were never alive to experience the popularity of such joy. Well, not at the rate older folks did. It kinda blows my mind.

Yeah, it's such a pity
Local multiplayer is so fun
LAN also, i used to transport my heavy PC to friends houses, it was so much better than cold & unpersonalized online gaming.
Lan parties in the 90's, during the golden age of FPS & RTS, that was epic !

We're becoming an isolated social society. It's a very interesting phenomena.
We're all communicating with eachother, but not really interacting.

We'll interact when i'll come in the US, first, you owe me a pizza, then Tom will offer me a coffee in the New Orleans french quarter, and after that, etc etc :p
I'm preparing my free vacations as you see :D

I'm a big, gigantic, huge fan of the single-player experience, but it is the direct human interaction that makes local multiplayer such a nice experience for me. The online anonymized experience isn't the least bit appealing.

I just want to play that Zelda adventures Gamecube game with my friends.. without having the need of having a billion cables.

Four-played four swords is soooo fantastic. The last time I played it with other humans was one of my favorite gaming experiences in the past five years.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that I'd be giddy with one local-player Four-Swords, one standard Zelda, and one handheld Zelda title per generation.

Ugh the dumb tablet is such a crappy idea imo.

I agree. Growing up, local multiplayer was pretty much a mainstay in my household. But now it's done all online and whilst there is nothing wrong with that, nothing beats seeing the instant reaction on someones face when they've just been robbed of first place courtesy of a well hit green shell.

Especially in thus day and age where local mutli is dying.

the biggest games in japan have local multi

Monster Hunter
Pokemon
Dragon Quest (well, 9 has it - maybe not so much in X... XI?)

what do those three ALSO have in common? ;)

there not going to give much away in the investors meeting gents. E3. Then TGS. There's one announcement though i'm wondering where they'll do it.... hmmm.

The fact that we're even discussing whether the Wii U can handle more than one tablet is enough to make wonder if it's a good idea.

But hey what do I know :/ I thought the DS was going be a disaster and it along with the 3ds are probably my favorite systems ever.

Nintendo: Proving Everyone Wrong Since 2004.

Some infos concerning the padlets

In a v4 dev kit context, with third-party involved, ports & titles using inhouse engines (not really tailored for the Wii U), the system hasn't the capacities to render 1 720p complex content on the TV, and 2 480p intricate scenes at the same time, with a good enough framerate. The "v5" dev kits won't change this situation. And i really don't think that with first-party, it will be a totally different outcome.

Now, 1 light 720p content (a ranking list, a 2D map, etc.) + 4 480 not ultra detailed with to-the-roof poly count titles, well, the hardware may handle that (i'm talking about rendering capabilities here, not streaming possibilities).

So those rumors about unlocking a second Upad are baseless? Does the resource drain of the Upad jeopardize 1080p support?

I think I might avoid GAF for two weeks before E3. I'd rather be surprised during the conference :P

He will. Bank on it.

And playing while wired for charging would be acceptable. I just don't want a gaming vacation interrupted for 8 hours of charging. :/

I'm not doubting it. In fact I'm expecting him to outright say it again. I dare him.

I just wish Nintendo's people would call him (and others) out on that kind of thing. So what if they're decried as bullys? I'd see it as Nintendo trying to do right by their fans and userbase, and just being honest.

There's no way they could "customize away" heat production without sacrifices, so that probably doesn't make as big of a difference as you think.

Sure they could customize away heat production. Different process, different architecture. If they remove something who says it has to be a sacrifice. Custom chip not based on a desktop part. Customized cooling solution. It all can make a big difference.

When was the last time he actually developed a game for a Nintendo console? I know Twin Snakes was supervised by him, but he didn't have any other involvement.

The whole point of the Wii U is to provide a unique personal experience to one person. That's the whole point of the letter "U" in the name, and that is most likely the reason why Nintendo only wanted one tablet per console. Also, the tablets will probably be expensive by themselves. Cheaper Wii Remotes will definitely be welcome for multiplayer games that might not really need the screen.

Declare who?

You should be expecting an island named Yoshi announcement, to be built right offshore of Tokyo
Make it the new Nintendo HQ. Hell! I'd live there if they opened the island for everyone. :P

urrhghgh beautiful pastel and crayon backgrounds in HD. I don't even want to think about it since it's not going to happen.
Hopefully those rumors about Good Feel are true. Would be awesome if they announced Yoshi's Island on Wii U at E3 this year.

I'm betting we get at least one game announcement. Pretty confident.
Reggie did say we'd get more news about the Wii U before E3. I think they might save their game announcements at E3.

Did you read the same post? He basically just said it supports two UPads.

Maybe I'm not following the choppy English here, but "hasn't the capacities" to render all these things at the same time across multiple screens is what made me ask the question.

Man, Monday is PACKED. It won't stop all day. Nintendo is really doing the smart thing by always going on Tuesday.

How would people be able to stand 4 conferences :/
