3DS Streetpass Experiences

I didn't have the patience to keep going through all my tags, so I ended up around 600-700 or so (don't remember exactly) after starting at around 200/300 on pre-PAX.

but to go from 9 to 1000? that's nuts

I am so annoyed that I couldn't get the 3DSes from Iowa. Just need Iowa, Idaho, and Louisiana. Also, you got Northwest Territories, whereas I got Nunavut. Oh well.

I think I got about 800 or so myself. 3529 Streetpass tags, 2463 Plaza Population.

I know I had only about 2700 and 1700 beforehand myself.

(Does this make me cooler than Tyeforce? No? Aww...)

No chance mate. Tyeforce is the King of Streetpass!

Anyone have much luck in southern England? The only time I've had more than 2 is when I've visited London. Gatwick Airport wasn't bad, although only one of eight left Plaza data, which was very annoying.

I usually get one or two each day in Cambridge... a couple of people on my course have 3DSes. And I've passed someone using a Luigi Mii on the train twice.

Dammit. On my way to London, and I forgot my 3DS! There goes the only chance I'll get of any Streetpasses for the next 6 months... :(

If you live in NYC and like Kid Icarus, Nintendo World Store is hosting Kid Icarus Fridays from 6-8PM. I go every Friday, and get a lot of tags there. They host Light vs. Dark tournaments where winners get AR Cards.

Not that I'm insecure about me being a manchild, but how old are the participants there... Would be weird if I go in there with a dress shirt after works if everyone else are half my age.

Sheeesh! Yesterday i finally got the "3 miis with the same game"-archivment down.

i didn't even know it existed...:lol no suprise here, it was 3 times mario 3D lando.

and i was able to finish find mii II a second time.

The most amazing coincidence happened to me last week. I was in HMV in London and had my 3DS with me. I noticed the 3DS demo unit on display and went to check it out. There was no game in it so decided to just check out what new Street Pass hits it had as there was an exclamation mark indicating it had some. One of the Miis in the queue looked just like the Mii I used to get from an ex-work colleague who lives in Guildford (just outside London). When his turn came up, it indeed was him! I phoned him up and asked if he's in London right now and explained my story and he said he was. He was quite astonished and asked me to take a photo which I did.

If we both didn't have plans that day, we could have met up.

I've only gotten 1 in London, from a guy from France.

Is there an iPhone app that does something similar to StreetPass? If not, why not?

Seems like the tech is there, and WAY more people carry around an iPhone than a 3DS.

What would the point of something like StreetPass be on the iPhone...? It makes sense on a game system like the 3DS, but on a phone? Just seems pointless to me. (Though I will admit that I often find myself wishing that my iPhone had StreetPass and an Activity Log like my 3DS; it might actually make me use the thing more often, because after the 3DS I'm completely turned off to playing games on a system that doesn't have an Activity Log. It's even hard for me to play Wii games anymore for that reason. But I know it doesn't really make sense for a phone, and I'm never going to play my iPhone much anyway, because...well, it's a phone, and I have a better alternative for gaming.)

I get about 7-8 per week while walking around University. My brother also has a 3DS so I Street Pass him every time I'm at home.

I'm addicted to getting those puzzle pieces too. <.<

I would guess that the way Streetpass work may interfere with the IOS system itself, not the hardware in particular.

Downtown Montreal yesterday, got 5 in a row,it was awesome seeing them march in when I got home, made me complete 2 puzzle tile themes(Metroid and Super Mario) plus 2 more room in the adventure game hehe...

Guys,
I've been in Copenhagen last weekend and I did not find anyone! Weird since I walked in the city pretty much all days (I collected 20.000 steps per day on average).

Eemmm... you know...

It's not as detailed as the 3DS one, mind you, but it's there.

I know that feeling, I play DS games on my 3DS instead of the much superior DSXL just so I can record the stats of my playtime...

Exactly! And another thing I love about the Activity Log is that it's like you're entire DS/3DS collection in a digital book. There are icons for everything you play that you can arrange as you want. It's just so great for the organization/collection freak side of me, lol.

On the topic of StreetPass, I'm so excited for The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses in Phoenix this Friday and Saturday! I have tickets for the Saturday show, but I'm going on Friday too just to collect some StreetPasses by the entrance. XD It's nice that since I've already completely beaten Puzzle Swap and Find Mii, I won't have to play with the Miis after I let them in the gate, so clearing my StreetPasses will be much easier! Well, except for Super Mario 3D Land and its maximum of 3 StreetPass tags. >.>

Not everything. My Titles Played and the number of icons in my library are still mysteriously out of sync.

I thought you resolved that? Wasn't it from getting your 3DS repaired? Same thing happened to me.
Nope. On the contrary, I asked Nintendo about it, and they said that they do not load any software onto the console when repairing the screen. But then, he also suggested that some software does not have an icon, and as far as I can tell that's not true. Also, everything I've "played" and since deleted (Green Lantern trailer anyone?) still shows up. I'm out of ideas.

I get a bunch of Streetpasses, hire old Miis to team up with them, then accidentally hit home or power somehow and close the streetpass app then lose all the old miis. Fuck.

The Nintendo guy you talked to was either lying (dunno why he would though) or he didn't know what he was talking about. When I sent my old 3DS in to get the screen repaired, it came back with a title called "???" in my Activity Log shown as being played during two of the days that it was sent in for repair. I didn't actually get an icon in my Activity Log book, and since it showed up as "???", I assume they deleted the software from my Activity Log or something like that. However, a friend of mine also sent their 3DS in for the same reason around the same time and they also had an unknown title added to their Activity Log. They actually got an icon in their book, though, and it had a title instead of just "???". It was called "Nintendo DS Demonstration" and, like with my 3DS, it was shown to have been used during the repair time. So they're definitely using some software with your system when you send it in for repair, even if it's just to fix the screen. I'm positive that my Activity Log "Titles Played" count was consistent with the number of icons in my book sometime before I sent it in, and it wasn't until afterwards that I noticed an inconsistency. I'm sure it's just because they deleted whatever software they used on my 3DS, and although the icon is deleted, it still counts towards your total Titles Played and it still shows up on the days it was used as "???". It's the only logical conclusion.

oh wow
That's pretty awesome. I'm about to send my unbroken 3DS in just to (probably) get this in my log

Got my first literal StreetPass this morning - as in, my 3DS managed to tag someone while I was driving to work.

Go figure, a new puzzle comes down the pipe from SpotPass -after- a local convention opens up, so I'm probably the only one that actually got a starter piece from it (and it's not even pink, wtf). I just got done with all the puzzles two weeks ago and already it's time for another one --;;

Just got a SpotPass that a new puzzle is available for Mario Tennis Open! Just like last time you get a free piece next time you open Puzzle Swap.

Cool that this is actually being used to promote new upcoming games.

Still haven't gotten the spotpass notification regarding the new panel.

Maybe this afternoon. And don't forget that select Best Buy stores will be having Kid Icarus related events this Saturday afternoon. I hope they are handing out new cards this time

EDIT: Just got the blue dot lol
