Korra learns the reverse of Amon's power and gives bending to everyone.
Spoiler (?) from the Welcome to Republic City flash site:the information site on waterbending says that extremely advanced waterbender can learn bloodbending. It kind of sounds like they imply that bloodbending is "more" common than during TLA
or everyone loses their bending and the Avatar is no more.![]()

Ok yea, that was a great episode. Lots of awesome action.
I really hope there's a Tenzin vs. Amon fight at some point.
Amon = Tenzin.
A good theory, but what reason would tenzin have for "NO MORE BENDERS"? He's one himself, as well as his children and parents. His brother doesn't seem to be one though.
He was zukos servant.amon is that kid zuko helped on that farm
I think that would be the better ending personally but it probably won't happen. If it did then I'll give a standing ovation.
that would be awful :/
Just realized that this can't be true since Tenzin was standing next to Korra at the end on episode 1 when Amon was listening to their speech on the radio.
There is only one explanation for this....Amon is everyone.
oh yeah, pabu is freakin adorable![]()

.......
Amon is everyone.
And yet... he is no one.
Just got done watching the 3rd episode. It's on nick.com in HD if anyone missed it.
Theory time.
I'm gonna guess that Amon's story about his childhood is a lie. But his story about a spirit giving him that power could be true.
The one spirit that we know of that has vowed to face the Avatar is Koh the face stealer. Amon wears a mask. I bet either Amon is the spirit Koh in human form. Or, Koh made a deal with a human. Either way, I'm excited as shit to learn more.
Because his voice is male? Specifically, the manliest voice, Steve Blum.I haven't watched episode 3 yet, but why does everyone assume Amon is male?

I'm surprised so many people here don't think Amon really used energy bending. No light show, sure, but I took that more as a visual storytelling means of showing the conflict of spirits, not that energy bending necessarily means people are shooting color coded lights out of every orifice.
*ahem*
Great minds think alike, I guess.
I think this is the case too. He's got to be lying about something, and it's either his energybending or his childhood. It would be so sweet if we saw a return of Koh.
Going even further, I think if Koh does have a hand in this then I imagine it's in retaliation to something Aang had to do post-ATLA. That would be a good way of bridging the two shows more, and would carry on with the motif on Aang's legacy, which seems to be written all over this show.

I was just thinking about this some more, and do you remember the scene where Aang takes away Ozai's bending? What was happening right here, right before he put his hands in place??
It seemed like when Aang started it, there was that weird burst of wind / fire and Ozai was placed into this almost catatonic state when the process started. I don't think that happened with the process that Amon was using, did it?
Edit: And JoeFu, I forgot about that.
That was Ozai's firebreath directed at Aang who snuffed it out with his air and managed to get close enough to do the energy bend technique.
I can't wait for Korra and Aang to meet in the spirit world. This show is so amazing and we're only 3 episodes in!!!
On topic for today's episode... Not sure if Amon did spirit bend, like everybody said it looks real close to Aangs
Touches him in the same place on the forehead, so maybe... but no chest action from Amon.
You know there's also the fact that Bloodbending can only be used once every month.
It would be pretty hard to teach it to anyone besides the top brass.
Oh man, I would love for Koh to somehow be involved in all of this. Dude is creepy as fuck and I loved all of his scenes in the original series.
I'm thoroughly impressed with Nick. They funded the shit out of this. The production values must be insane for a cartoon.
Don't quote me on this but I think they mentioned that the average budget for each episode is one million.
Also, these two are trying hard to be the next Appa and Momo:

It feels forced for now.
That's expected?
Korra == Aang
Bolin == Sokka
Mako == Katara
Amon is an amazing villain. Whether his backstory was true or not remains to be seen, but he is scary as fuck. Really glad they are bringing him out right away, compared to the Fire Lord who we only saw a few rare glimpses of for the first two seasons.
