I'll bet against that.

Even that seems more plausible to me.

We all know he will be the Cabbage merchants son in the end though.

I'm thinking it might be the third unknown brother of Mako and Bolin. It would go well with the backstory we found out today about the two and how Amon lost his face to a fire bender.

I really hope they don't mess around with Amon to make him look like a supervillain or something later on.

The dude has the making of a fantastic antagonist.

Hopefully Mako stops being such an ass after this.

Amon is an amazing villain. Whether his backstory was true or not remains to be seen, but he is scary as fuck. Really glad they are bringing him out right away, compared to the Fire Lord who we only saw a few rare glimpses of for the first two seasons.

I think in the beginning he was but started to mellow somewhat as the episode went on. What will be interesting is seeing more of his relationship with his brother and how that might change since we can see the status quo right now.

As for Amon, the guy and his crew looks menacing as fuck and it will be cool to see if what he says about his backstory and goals are legit (if not answer it anyways).

Just saw the episode. It was pretty good. I love the fact that the entire equalist movement is actually kinda right and that they're not just 'the bad guys'.

man haven't watched Saturday morning cartoons since X-men and Spiderman in the 90s

I'm really digging the new setting and tone of the show. I hope the problem doesn't become like entire world in trouble.

Cactus juice drunk Momo was hilarious.

definitely. im in the minority on this but i thought samurai momo and that entire hallucination episode were pretty cool

well it could set the path for industrialism and technology to help in the path to progress like now.

then we wouldnt have any more avatar :( i would hate to see the franchise take place in the modern world. im still iffy about seeing motorcycles and armored freakin vehicles as is

After I finished the episode, I went and rewatched this.

oh dude. duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude

As if it wasn't clear before, this just absolutely screams of a greater exploration of equality in a world where small, elite members of the population have a mystical advantage over everybody else.

Kind of stunning to see the number of people the Equalists can attract, too...

Korra in a hat is kawaii, motherfuckers.

So without the lightshow and long-term study I remain unconvinced that Amon can truly spiritbend. We demand scientific, peer-reviewed evidence!

Awesome episode.

Since they cutaway at the "energy bending" I am going to say he is using other methods but other than that, I think Amon is boss. I like him.

This episode moved fast as fuck, too. I thought for sure the Equalist rally was going to be a mid-season thing and we were going to get more slice-of-life. NOPE. No wasted time in Korra-ville.

Amon is Hasook.
It makes sense.

... When I scrolled past this, I read this as "Amon is Hook."

oh dude. duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude

:)

I love love love red panda videos.

I would say you have to be master level to begin to learn it. The Gaang were pretty broken powerwise.

Its equivalent to lightningbending and metalbending imo.

Yes, I think I'm on the same page as you now.

I believe that the equalist movement will end at the end of this season. I remember reading that when they decided to do a second season they were already done with the first. They also said that each season will have isolated stories from each other.

Guys.

guys.

Amon totes contracted with Koh the Face Stealer.

Koh's tangled with previous avatars. And he's a fucking thief.

What you think?

already came up in the thread

If true then that could answer a question i always had if Nick ever decided to ask for more episodes.

Amon is everyone.

I would quite like a Laughing Man-like storyline, where the 'villain' is more obscure, as is the moral boundary line.

Other than that, i most outlandish twist i could think of is if he's Aang, who faked his own death and spiritbended Korra into a false Avatar, all to correct the imbalance that he sees in the society he created.

rtmpdump still works with the new streaming episode. it's split up into 4 different streams though, so you'll have to join em all up afterwards.

Mako is tsundere. Korra is the manly man. Odd how that happens

seriously. i love that about her though. i enjoyed watching korra bully around the equalist poster guy and knocking mako down with that ball thing. dat upper body strength

The next episode preview looks baller as fuck, too. Korra no what are you doing

well probably get a new character introduction or something. the preview shows her getting captured so unless tenzin activates beast mode, shell get bailed out by someone else

This would be so dumb and so amazing at the same time.

At this rate, TLoK will >>>> ATLA. Taking nothing away from the first series, but the fact that this one has all that history to build off of, and how much it's improved... everything just means TLoK has a higher upside.

Amon is a bawse, the fight choreography is even better, the look of the city is great, Team Korra is great, etc. etc.

I could absolutely see the scenario somebody said earlier of Amon and the Equalist movement "winning" at the end of season one coming to fruition. During the interim between seasons and going forward, I'm sure Korra will mature as she finds her current disposition is too unwieldly.
