Good one :D

no imageshack is banned because they delete older images and reuse the url for different ones. i think one thread had some porn posted because an old image got its image replaced.

that was the reason for tinypic, imageshack just gives golden frogs. But honestly, I think I've hardly seen that happen in more recent years compared to the tons of dead-by-traffic photobucket links...

ah yeah i forgot about the frog since i haven't seen it for the longest.

According to Wiki, he wasn't the director of any FF past 5, so it make sense for a young fan (who maybe started playing from 7 or even 10) to relate the series more to Nomura or whoever is in charge now.
Sorry for drying out the humor, though, it's a shitty thing to do. :(

Well if you love a game series, it'd be normal to know an artist who contributed heavily to make the games as great as they are. Especially the artist who made Final Fantasy

this is bullshit. you can be a hardcore fan of a game or anything else without knowing who the creator is. Heck I dont know who the creator of for example Ouendan is and I really love the ouendan/EBA series.

So fuckin' true, i never played a FF and i know who are Sakaguchi and Uematsu and this girl who i am forced to see almost everyday call herself FF maniac and doesn't know who these people are...

Why does that matter? I love The Wire but I couldn't name more than a handful of the people involved in it, and certainly none of the production staff.

The only reason I know any of the names involved in Final Fantasy is because I hang around here.

I've been gaming 23 years and loved hundreds of games and I think the only people I can name are Miyamoto, Cliff Blezinski, Dennis Dyack, and Gabe Newell since they get so much press.

And to contribute something ...

I dont even know who Sakaguchi is.

You can be a fan without knowing who's behind a game.

Like, i dont know who's behind the latest Mario games(other than, you know, Miyamoto) and i've played them all.

Lots of people love games but don't care to know the details of the people who made them. I don't think it's that big a deal. ESPECIALLY if it's a Japanese name it might be difficult for your average American to remember.

Not saying it's a big deal, because you're right, it's not. But imo, it'd be normal to know the creator of something you like (not only video games)

Normal to want to know who created something; but not a big deal if you don't.

Edit: Sorry if I'm explaining myself incorrectly.

Yeah in fact it's no big deal per se but this girl actually calls herself FF maniac and mentions Nomura every 2 seconds when the topic is FF so you figure that she actually know her stuff but she know even less than me who have never played an FF in his life (aside from the first 20 minutes than FF6 but whatever)

I'd actually guess that most people don't know who directed their favourite movies but always connect the lead actors in them. Like some of my friends always say: "have you seen the latest [insert actor name] movie yet?".
