I'll eat 10 hats and put it on YouTube if specs are revealed. The rest we know already because Iwata said those would happen.
I'll gladly buy one for you.
and add a bottle of chocolate syrup to make it more edible
Boy, you sure do like hats.
Give me another idea, then.

I just realized something incredibly annoying about Wiimotes need for multiplayer and no possibility for multiple Upads.
AA Batteries.
At least design a freaking new Wiimote nintendo.
The whole situation is so terrible though. There is no standardization for the local multi experience. Wiimote + nunchuck doesnt even have the same buttons as the pad. It will be terrible, confusing, limiting. :/

I wasn't criticizing you baby </3
Wii ʘ
(that's a bilabial click, like a quick kiss *mwah*)
Nintendo Wiigi?
It's gotta be an IR camera. The Wii U controller needs to know which direction the TV is, and that's the only real way to do it - unless they expect us to orient the controller manually every time we switch it on. The PixArt IR sensor has a tiny little lens on it, about 1mm across, so the size of that black window is more than adequate to house it.
As far as controlling a TV goes, the Wii U already has a massive IR blaster with 10 LEDs in it right by the TV - the Sensor Bar. That's how they do it in Japan. The other option would be to use the built-in Sensor Bar in the Wii U controller, but that's only if those LEDs are especially powerful. Thing is, it's such a minor function, and would only be useful for a fraction of the audience. An IR camera
would be a much better use of resources.
I am not your baby.
MAMA!
If Wii U's name is changed, I'll eat a whole pack of bacon.
Edit: WHY DO YOU DENY OUR LOVE!?!
Huh, oh its you. Uh yeah baby, I totally love you and whatever.
My guess is they plan on using it to directly exchange information with 3DS.
What's to say Nintendo won't come out with a revised ccpro?
So you'll say yes?
It's most certainly not a modified POWER7, no. Even though the core would probably run perfectly stable at 1GHz. But the frequency range doesn't confirm anything either way. But it rules out two options: It's not an A2, and it's definitely not a 470/ 476FP, as neither core was designed to achieve such clock speeds. The IBM press release said it was an "all new" core, and that's probably exactly what it is. It's not an A2, but it has at least one feature in common with the A2. And it probably has things in common with other IBM chips - like POWER7.You are a lifesaver, thank you. Wsippel... CPU-wise, which lineage are we talking now? Certainly won't be based on Power7 in any loose manner if the start frequency is 1ghz.(thread)
Did I walk into gaygaf or what? 0_o

I wouldn't count out an official spec reveal.
"Wii DS" has so much potential for confusion.. but for some strange reason, I really like it, haha..
Uh...no...I mean of course. Yeah, you're like the love of my dreams and stuff.
I wouldn't count out an official spec reveal. Wasn't the Wii the first system Nintendo said they weren't going to discuss specs for? And the Wii-U is supposed to be targeting core gamers, and they know core gamers like specs. Especially with these rumors going around about the Wii-U being "on par" with current-gen consoles, Nintendo might want to say "That's all a lot of hooey, look how powerful this mofo is!"
I would ban bet on the name not being changed if ban bets weren't totally lame.
Why? Because once in Nintendo's history they said they weren't going to discuss specs? That's like people saying that Nintendo never goes for high-end specs, because the Wii didn't.I would lol
YAY! So, when do I get it?
Cu45-HP is just a process, not a chip. POWER7 is Cu45-HP. A2 is Cu45-HP. The Wii U CPU will be Cu45-HP. Unless it's Cu32. Which it probably won't be.Hmm... did the word "Flanker" or "cu45hp" come up in the document that you saw? haha
But yes, at frequencies up to 4ghz it would rule out the smaller cores like the A2/47x. Would it be possible that they've finally managed to make the Waternoose (from Cell/Xenon) OoO? That would be considered a "new" CPU.

And I actually really kinda think the Wii U CPU cores will be based on PPEs. Just with some A2 and POWER7 features replacing Cell/ Xenos features, and maybe OoOE. Or maybe not.

Handhelds are different - Nintendo didn't actually say they weren't going to release specs for those, they just assumed people wouldn't be interested. The PSP didn't get its specs announced until after E3 either, except for the UMD storage space (Sony did eventually release the PSP specs though, just not until after the pre-launch E3).They didn't reveal DS or 3DS specs either.
For that to be possible, the system would actually have to be "three times" the performance, which for all we know may not be possible with existing technologyBesides that, revealing specs would just give Sony and Microsoft the ability to say, "Our console offer three times the performance of Wii U!" There's no logical reason to reveal specs
Man, one of the most obvious things why the WiiU will be successful just came to my mind.
Its a home console version of the DS... The best selling handheld console ever. Games on DS can get an WiiU sequel. Maybe we see some kind of DS VC once they kill the system off. Or DS remakes for WiiU...
They should call it Wii DS![]()
I like Wii U. Really. And I think it's a clever choice with more benefits than disadvantages. Wii 2 is really too boring, no vision, just an addition... And if they have to change the name I will be pleased with Wii DS = 150M + 100M system sales locked."Wii DS" has so much potential for confusion.. but for some strange reason, I really like it, haha..

Yeah, that's the $1000 question: What is Oban? I don't think it has anything to do with Sony or MS, it's probably the chip in production at fab 8 and previously at East Fishkill, and "Oban" is not only a town a Scotland, but also a Japanese coin. Maybe it's actually the Wii U CPU and SA got the details wrong. Maybe not.The reason I ask of the CU45HP is because I'm still trying to figure out which 32nm part is being produced at East Fishkill with IBM/GF earlier this year. It's certainly not Sony's goods, and I'm doubting it is Microsoft's as well. And I have never seen a monicker on any documents/leaks that would suggest a future change to CU32HP for Nintendo's CPU.
I have heard that IBM has upgraded their Altivec/VSX stuff which I could easily see going into this chip, however... No OoOE would make me a sad panda. It would also make the "100% Wii emulation at 480p" (of which I would assume is done in-hardware like Wii->GC) more difficult, wouldn't it?
If Avengers is gone from theaters in under a month, then it was probably worth missingAnd miss the Avengers? You foolish fool!
If they really wanna go after the hardcore, they must name it the JavinaBox 4000. Very sexy, adult name!
http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/155394/cartmans-buck-rodgers-introThat would be sweet. Then in an apocalyptic sci fi twist you wake up a few years late, and most of the industry has devoured itself/collapsed and Nintendo is in fire sale mode.
Damn, there probably will have been five full threads completed before e3.
Or The Nintendo Sasha Grey =P
