fucking fahrenheit
I needed several minutes to realize what is actualy meant with "61F"

really?

get a grip, USA, and change to the better side

Although I'm a bit late to this, Fahrenheit is based off of alcohol(according to my physics instructor), not water. Those just happen to be the points at which water freezes and boils.

One of the original fixed points in the Farenheit scale is the temperature of the armpit of a healthy man. Which is just ludicrous.

Nowadays, they just fix that point relative to the celsius scale, so they should just use that (celsius) scale IMO.

I like fahrenheit because (other than being american) anything below 0 means it's really fucking cold, and anything above 100 means it's really fucking hot.

I also prefer to speak the dates the american way (May 1st) because you transmit the information with the least amount of data, if that makes sense. Though YYYY/MM/DD is the best for archiving.

When I say a date out loud, I sure don't say "fourteen July twenty twelve," either. "July fourteenth, twenty twelve." So MM/DD/YYYY matches actual spoken dates, as well. I'll admit to ignorance regarding whether the non-US English-speaking world actually DOES say "fourteen July twenty twelve," though. Sounds pretty silly if you ask me!

Yes, 14 July 2012...did you mean fourth of july? lolol

I've tried using this in these types of arguments before. Only those from colder climates seem to agree. Warm-climate people think anything below ~30 is cold, so that should be "0". Oh well.

I'll try to contribute:

Come on guyyyyysss obviously I thought of fourth of July, I just didn't mention it because it hurts my argument. We've all been there!

Ah, more delusions of grandeur.

Flag on the moon. Scoreboard says we win.

When somebody else walks around on Not Earth, give us a call. You've only had forty years to catch up. Until then, I guess a silver medal isn't that bad. :p
