Looks absolutely gorgeous. Loving all those colors in the night shots. I'm kind of wondering how they're editing in the first person shots though.

Like I said when I saw the preview event, the non-CG heavy scenes have some seriously flat lighting. Lighting for digital, how does it work? Apparently only Fincher an co know.

Looks really flat story-wise. I'll be seeing it regardles
Free screening. :p

Not really digging this trailer. The CG at the end looks so, so bad. Especially those particles in the air. I'm more interested in Webb's character stuff here, which he looks to be grasping.

Nope, that's from Feb. I'm getting an embed up now.

Damnit. How haven't I seen this one.

So according to this, Gwen finds out rather quickly. I don't like that.

There are some things in the trailer that click my geek buttons in all the right ways. Things like mechanical web shooters and snarky Spidey. The webslinging looks VERY good as well. But ugh at the rest of it. Lizard looks like ass (even though we did get the lab coat in one shot. Which was awesome). And the vibe given is like him being Spidey was some predetermined thing instead of an accident? Are they needlessly complicating his origin just to add drama to it?

I know I am making snap decisions based on a trailer, but I have had a bad feeling about this from the start. I will still be there to see it opening weekend, and want to give it a fair shot. I just don't feel like it will deliver.

At least the good news for me is that my expectations are as low as they've ever been, so the potential to be pleasantly surprised is hopefully quite high.

But not a single production photo, promo image, teaser, trailer or poster for this has looked even remotely good to me.

why would they go with Marc Webb for spiderman's resurrection? This guy has only made 500 Days of Summer, and that's a completely different genre.

Why continue the charade? With Spider-man and especially Superman, it would be so much better if the love interest was on the same level of the audience about the heroes identity. With all these reboots, it's best to cover new ground for those relationships and have them in step with the viewer. I'm tired of 120 minutes spent with a lead actress playing dumb about who that masked/unmasked guy really is.

I love the movement and animation going on. Much more fluid and what spidey should be like. My one complaint......the web shooter. I really thought it was an awesome move on raimis part to go with the organic web shooter. Made Peter Parker way more like a real spiderman. Now its just like he has super strength and can stick to a wall. minor gripe...

I didn't like the idea of a smart guy like Parker having organic web shooters. Raimi proved me right when he turned on the melodrama and made his inability to "perform" a mental issue.

Well after Spider-man 3... I'll for sure take this.

I think it looks pretty damn good actually.

This still rubs me the wrong way. The only thing I like is the fact that the character of Gwen Stacey is in it, other than that, it just feels off.

I don't think so, it's going in the direction of the Ultimate SM in terms of Oscorps involvement while at the same time seeming to take aspect of his parents being spies from the 616 universe and melding them.

I loved the trailer, not sure what people are talking about knocking the CG, it all look great (apart from maybe one swinging scene) imo. Lack of GIF's in here is unacceptable!

Only CG that stood out as bad to me was the webbing exploding in his face when he was in his room. Otherwise the effects looked quite good. Well, except for Lizard. There is no saving the Goomba.

How bad were the scenes?

Really poorly written that many people were writing off as the writers going off for 'naturalism' in the interaction. Really awkward scene between MJ and Peter where
Uncle Ben comes to pick him up or something and embarrasses him.

Let's not forget the awesome first clip they released online with the doorman!

Yeah, that was pretty awkward but I was hoping that it being out of context would be the cause of that. I guess we'll see how the rest of the movie plays out.

And it doesn't look very good at all.

That's for sure. Just like Incredible Hulk that final battle will be conceived entirely inside an artists' computer. It's funny that they slashed the budget for this reboot because of how expensive Spidey 3 was. But now CGI costs so much less that they went and made what looks to be a bloated, loud, cutscene finale...just like part 3!
